Unfortunately, this was the WORST dining experience of our girlfriends' holiday in Portugal. Immediately following dinner, those of us who ate the Ceviche Puro all came down with food poisoning and spent our last night in Lisbon violently ill. I did reach out to the restaurant to let them know, but did not receive a response. Food and service were just average. Portions were super small. Our ceviche had a very small amount of fish; it was mostly other ingredients. We watched them scoop the tuna for tuna tacos out of a container from the fridge (not fresh!). Even without the food poisoning experience factored in, I would not return to A Cevicheria.

When asking people for recommendations on restaurants prior to visiting Lisbon, this restaurant was mentioned. So, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, as soon as I entered the store, my friends and I were seated right away. I think it was partially due to the fact that we were eating an earlier dinner and partially due to the very rainy weather outside. But luckily, we had no issues getting seats without any reservation. When we got seated, we were asked if we wanted cornbread to start which we immediately agreed (little did we know that it wasn't complimentary and cost us per person...). We got corn bread on top of a bed of corn nuts with 2 different spreads. The spreads were very smooth and flavorful. I also had the highly recommended pisco sour. The drink was very nice - very light and airy. Of course, we could visit A Ceivcheria without trying a variety of ceviche dishes, so we opted for the TUNA & FOIE GRAS CEVICHE and SALMON & DRAGON FRUIT CEVICHE. Both the ceviches really had flavors that were bursting in my mouth. The combination of all these ingredients was something that I've never taste. Chef Kiko combine the soft texture of the tuna/salmon with the hard textures of nut hazelnut and cashew respectively. Both ceviches tasted a bit tarty - the tuna & foie gras one was a bit more sour. But, I really thought these two were worth a try. QUINOTTO NERO WITH TIGER PRAWN & SCALLOP The quinoa was made with cuttlefish ink, so it was black and makes your tongue black as well. The quinoa was nicely flavored but tasted a tad bit salty for me personally. The scallops were very soft. The tiger prawn was big, but wasn't too much meat to eat from after extracting from the shell. This was one of the more filling dishes that we had. Each ingredient was set so nicely on the plate. The flavors were very unique and you can tell it was created by a chef who knew what he was doing. I really enjoyed my dining experience despite the expensive price tag. Overall. I thought it was a 4.5

Food amazing, service was one of the nicest in Portugal, the Pisco Sour was delicious, I usually can only do one because it can be too sweet but here it's perfect and I could easily do 2.

Recommended to us by a local, this was our first stop along a food tour we put together for ourselves. We started with a pisco sour, that it their signature drink. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was a fan. Light and refreshing, went down very easy. Since we were going to multiple places and this was our first stop, we on'y ordered a few things but what we did order was excellent. We had the tuna and foie gras ceviche- wow! The flavor combination was a symphony of delicious flavors. tuna ceviche, foie gras, beetroot, raspberry and lychee topped with crushed hazelnuts- drool! Next we had the tuna belly tartare tacos, they were delicious in their own right. The service was quick and great. We will def be back on our next trip to Lisbon and we will order the same things.

A must visit - delicious ceviches and excellent other dishes including quinotto (risotto made out of quinoa). Great selection of wine. Delicious pisco while you wait as it's No Reservations - went twice so far and loved it all

5. We two had dinner. FOOD: 4.0. - 4.0: Prawn with Quinoa and Cuttlefish ink. Salty, "but nice if one wants a change from traditional Portuguese cuisine." - 4.0: Ceviche: Tuna, Foie Gras, raspberries. (Note that the Foie gras isn't like that of Dordogne.) Very good. - 4.5: Chocolate cake with platano (banana). Banana mixed with a little bit of pepper served as a gelatin with chocolate and ice cream. Excellent mix of tastes. AMBIANCE: 4.0. White and bright. Nice blue-tile floor. SERVICE: 5.0. A large team in ties worked together seamlessly to take care of us.

My favorite spot in Lisbon! It was recommended to us by a local and we ended up going there several times on our trip. The food is amazing. Obviously, you have to get a Pisco sour... or two. The space is beautiful and the staff is so kind. Thank you Sergio and Miguel for making our visit extra special! 10/10

We did the tasting menu, which started off great--three truly excellent and imaginative ceviche dishes, all with some surprising flavor pairings. The last two dishes, (a bbq octopus, and a very hot quinoa porridge and fried prawn), took the rest of the dining experience into a less thoughtful direction. This was compounded by a dessert of chocolate cake, hazelnut foam, and a funny looking banana purรฉe that also left us feeling like the tasting menu was more of a sampler platter than a conscious culinary journey. On top of this, when asking if any drinks paired well with the menu, I was offered champagne or white wine.. the website even tells you to get a Pisco Sour. Looking at the rest of the menu, there looks to be better options, so either Harry Styles has terrible taste in restaurants and should not be trusted, or just be confident in what you like and avoid the prix fixe--it's possible that both are true. Ambiance was stellar, hopefully the food and service can elevate to make this place truly remarkable. Enjoy your visit to Lisboa!

Absolutely amazing culinary experience located in the host area of Lisbon! Would highly recommend. We were unable to gain a reservation, so we dropped by. Had a Pisco Sour as we waited appx 20-30 mins for a table. If we ever make it back to Lisbon, it will be on our list of go to restaurants!

If I have the option to give more than 5 stars, I would! The place is a must to visit and return to later. All food is very unique and delicious. I wish we lived near by to go here every week. Instagram-friendly interior design and food presentation. Very good service. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Pros:- Service was good- Interior is small but charming- Very accommodating for my gluten intoleranceCons:- Food was overpriced- Food was over salted- Drinks were a scam**I absolutely HAVE to explain that their "signature cocktail" is a pisco sour - which they immediately recommend to you without mentioning the cost. I guess we got suckered. We ordered 2 rounds throughout dinner & when we got the bill we couldn't believe what we saw ........ โฌ14 a drink. That's wicked expensive even by USA standards.I have no issue with ordering an expensive cocktail if it's worth it - but something about this whole thing felt exploitative.

This place is such a vibe and although small very aesthetically charming. Overall I give this place a 8 out of 10 for overall experience and food. Although this is a pervivรญan visione inspired cuisine, it has its Portuguese touches. The Portuguese ceviche was honestly our least favorite. We felt it had a lot of different flavors that did not mix well, the quail eggs as well were alot. However the lobster ceviche was amazing with a generous amount of lobster. The passion fruit dessert is a must and literally heaven on earth, we enjoyed this dessert so much. The service was also something to note, our waitress explained everything and was attentive.
Be the first to ReplyVery cool place!1.
Ambience: cool, modern, cold as the doors are open in the middle of winter.2. Food: good, but some items I hated. but it is not the fault of the restaurant that it doesn't match my taste bud. 3. Service: very attentive and professional It is a great place to visit, it was personally my first time ever at a dedicated ceviche place. I would recommend.

Romantic affair. Delicious ceviche and generous portions.

Fun and innovative ceviche!! My friend and I split the salmon/dragonfruit ceviche and the Portuguese ceviche, as well as the hot octopus dish. The salmon and dragonfruit ceviche was by far my favorite dish, the different textures and flavors melded harmoniously together for a symphony of refreshing delight. The Portuguese ceviche was a bit too heavy for my taste, especially with the egg component. It also didn't have any of the fresh flavor that I expect from ceviche. The octopus dish was pretty average, the best part were the quail eggs that burst in your mouth.Overall, this place was pretty good and had a great ambiance inside. If you get there early (around 7 or when they open), it's pretty empty and you don't have to wait. The dishes come out one after the other, so if you are sharing and order a lot expect to be dining for quite some time.
Be the first to ReplyBy far the best meal of our trip.
Maybe the best restaurant in Portugal! Try the tuna belly tacos. OMG they are amazing!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is delicious.
The servers soooo lovely. However, be prepared to dine quite a long time if you order the tasting menu.

Long wait! But the food will make you forget all about the wait!! The dishes were delicious and the presentation was incredible! If I ever go back to Lisbon I will visit here again!
Be the first to ReplyI think this place is overrated.
We wanted to get the tasting menu but everyone at the table had to get the tasting or everyone has to get a La carte. No mix and match. Also No substituting for food intolerances and allergies. We ended up getting 2 appetizers which the flavors and descriptions of the i ingredients tasted good at the first bite but by the time you had more it was overly salty. For a dish that has seaweed in it, I feel the chef didn't do a good job at taking into consideration the natural Inherit-ant salty flavors from the seaweed to begin with and the dishes was just a lot of salt and sour taste. Not memorable, glad we didn't have the tasting menu. Or the tasting menu might have been better in smaller portions. It was just an okay dining experience and would not go back here. Wine selection is also quite small.
Be the first to ReplyI must say, the food was excellent.
We tried a couple of the ceviches (the salmon & dragon fruit) was reaaaaally good). HOWEVER, the waiter brought us tortilla chips and two small cornbread cubes and told us it was on the house and then charged us 7 euro and said he was sorry but he had to charge us. I can't stand this type of shady behavior so instead of 5 stars, I'm rating it 1 star due to essentially being lied to. I almost never post on yelp but this really cheesed me off.
Be the first to ReplyWe received this restaurant recommendation from a friend.
We showed up at 7:15 and already a line-up outside. We had to wait an hour for the table but we were served pisco sours for our wait. The manager clearly knew how to organize the room and we appreciated how creative he was about getting us a table for 4.Once inside the room was amazing. Small space but fantastic decor and lively vibe. Food was creative, daring and delicious. Not a place for the vanilla eater but we loved it.Highly recommend but be ready to wait. Thanks to the staff - their service style really made the night. We will return.

Amazing! We split the tasting menu (which the waitress offered!) and got the tuna tartar tacos. It was great! Highly recommend coming here and it was nice we could do the split because the tasting menu plus the extra dish was plenty of food for 2. The Pisco sours were delish. Come early to put down your name bc they don't take reservations
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance and decor are stunning.
I arrived before 12:30 and I was lucky that I was seated right away. The waitstaff was friendly, and I told my server multiple times that I have a dairy allergy. He brought out what I thought was an appetizer, but was actually the snacks that are called the "courvert charge" (that I didn't order). It was all dairy, so I mentioned to the server that I couldn't have any of it and he removed the items. The ceviche de atum e foie gras was visually stunning and texturally interesting. I also had the taco de tรกrtaro de atum e tobiko - delicious, exactly what you'd hope for in a tuna tartare taco. When the bill came, I noticed that (1) even though I hadn't ordered the courvert charge and (2) I didn't even eat the courvert charge because I was allergic to all of it, they charged me for it anyways! I had to wait a little longer for them to correct the mistake. I agree with previous Yelpers; it's a pet peeve of mine when restaurants charge the customer for something that the customer didn't order. For an already pricey meal that would have been stunning otherwise, I was disappointed in that practice. Visually beautiful experience, but they need to do better with service. I would come back with friends if they stopped forcing the courvert charge practice.

The ceviche was good and the presentation was modern and innovative. The fish was fresh and good quality. Location is beautiful and outdoor seating is fantastic.I would say a bit on the pricy side but mainly because of location and scarcity of this kind of food in the area. They boast best Pisco in town... this may be true because that is relative to the fact that they're in Lisbon and there are no other similar places nearby. But if you've had a true Peruvian or Chilean Pisco sour (which are different from one another as it is), their Pisco sour does not really taste like either of the real deal. Service was already slow before it got really packed / rush hour. So get ready for a wait.
Be the first to ReplyWe arrived at lunch opening.
It's been 2.5 hours and we're still waiting for some of the dishes we ordered at the start. For the tasting menu, so far 4 dishes of the 5 have arrived, plus dessert is coming after. 20 minutes and asking 3 times for still water (we are still waiting). Insane. Also not sure what the issue of the manager looking guy is but he needs a bloody attitude check. Waste of time.
