Sat in the bar area. The atmosphere is a fun vibe. Our server Kelly was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The new spring cocktails are absolutely amazing. Would 100% come back
Be the first to ReplyGood was delicious and service was great.
Group of 12 and we tried the friend green tomatoes, bread service, filet, cookies and so much food! Happy hour had great deals too
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous restaurant with great food.
Came for dinner and everything we ordered was incredibly tasty. Highly recommend the bread service and the gnocco fritto. Waitress was extremely friendly and quick. The pasta was a little bit bland but otherwise everything we ordered was wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good, but I promise you.
For the price, you can find 10,000 better restaurants in Chicago. The salmon and halibut tasted nice, but nothing insane. The tiramisu was not good.. overly sweet with ice cream and kind of confusing overall. It did not compare to traditional tiramisu. I could just tell our server didn't want to be there and I get it. I have served, but there's a certain level of professionalism I wish I experienced. I just don't think it's worth coming back to

Adalina, located in Chicago's esteemed Gold Coast neighborhood, exudes elegance and boldness. Upon entering Adalina, guests are greeted by a grand staircase leading to a mesmerizing painting of a woman enveloped in white roses. This has to be the best happy hour in the country. Both on price and quality. Superb quality oysters! Impressive! This spot is led by the esteemed Michelin-starred chef Soo Ahn, formerly of Band of Bohemia. Adalina presents a refined Italian menu blending Northern and Southern influences.
Be the first to ReplyProbably the most overpriced place I've been to in Chicago.
Go elsewhere for the money. Food: Food was cold and lacked taste. Each course worse than the last. I got 3.5 cold, rubbery, scallops in a soup for $45. Drinks: Good options but can only speak to the wine list, which was expansive. Service: Took them forever to seat us. Food took an hour to come out. Atmosphere: Loud but cool decor. Ok Im old.
Be the first to ReplyItalian brunch: Adalina is a spot worth considering.
It offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for lazy weekend mornings. However, if you're not a fan of cheese overload, you might want to tread cautiously. Adalina tends to go heavy on the cheese, which could overwhelm some palates. That said, the sauce is impeccable and the drinks menu is stellar, boasting super creative concoctions that perfectly complement the small plates designed for sharing. So, if you're willing to overlook the cheese surplus, Adalina promises a delightful brunch experience filled with great drinks and delectable small plates to share with friends/family. I especially liked the dish displays. Dress code is dressy and the vibe is romantic/business casual. I'd say it's about $80 or so per person. Not bad.

Great atmosphere and food, the servers were very courteous and the food and drinks came out quick.
Be the first to ReplyService is phenomenal! No denying that at all.
They are all VERY attentive. The actual food missed the mark! We all had different plates and the bread service was probably the best thing on the entire menu. We tried different pastas, the veal, and chicken. The chicken is the worst chicken I have ever had. We had tiramisu for dessert and it's by far the worst tiramisu I have ever had in my life as well. It tasted like wet bread and no flavor. The drinks were delicious overall as well. The ambiance is nice as well. This is a place to just go to the bar and order some cocktails and get the bread service and meatballs & chat on a date or with a friend. Do not go here for actual dinner. You will not enjoy the food. They need a new chef and a new menu.

The ambiance of Adalina was terrific very pretty with a dark color scheme and good lighting. The problems I had didn't start until our entrees arrived, the portions of the "GNOCCHI DELLA NONNA" were less than admirable. I had gotten maybe 10 small Gnocchi, which was delicious but not enough for my price. All the while our server was nowhere to be found. We would see her walk by every so often but she did not seem to even give us a glance to see if we would like more champagne or even more water. The server also asked us if we would like dessert BEFORE we even had our entree! They were out of 2 of the deserts that we wanted and yet she took the orders and returned later to tell us that they didn't have them, so she put in for a 3 option that was not discussed. The atmosphere was loud and busy on a Tuesday night. This was NOT a restaurant I would take a significant other, boss, or any type of business meeting as advertised. The Meatballs were good and the bread was good as well but once again it was small portions. However, the redeeming factor was the amazing runner/busser that was paired with our server. He was on top of everything and he was terrific. If you're looking for good Italian food I highly recommend Alla Vita!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here.
.. but certainly not my last!Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner... and I ended up loving EVERY dish! I started with a glass of wine and we ordered the bread service. The bread was pretty soft, but loved the butter cheese melted in between each slice. We also tried the East Coast Oysters, the Campanelle, and the Salmon Vesuvio. Everything was prepared so well; I loved the crust on the salmon and would have loved more flavor for the side of gnocchi, but I still enjoyed the dish. We also ordered the banana bread donuts for dessert... these were warm, not too sweet, just very excellent as well. Also had to end the dinner with espresso martinis.. which really hit the spot :). Overall, I loved the ambiance in Adalina. It's a nice restaurant, but not straight laced, nose in the air kid of venue. You can expect a beautiful atmosphere, and great food without feeling overly pretentious. Can't wait to come back here to try their brunch dishes!
Be the first to ReplyAdalina exceeded my expectations.
The food, service, and ambiance were simply amazing. We ordered way too much food, but there was absolutely no regrets. Every bite was amazing. Some dishes were better than others, but you really can't go wrong with any of the pastas. The pastas were a pretty large portion and great for sharing. The standouts for me:1. Gnocco Fritto with 24 Month Aged Prosciutto di San Daniele, Whipped Ricotta, Mieli Thun Honey. The whipped ricotta was the star of this dish. It was so creamy and paired great with the saltiness of the prosciutto. 2. Charred Octopus with Fingerling Potatoes, Sicilian Pistachios, Fennel, Horseradish Goat Cheese. The octopus was sooo tender. I've never had horseradish with octopus but it helped to cut through the cheese. 3. Campanelle with a deconstructed pesto. This was so light and very flavorful. It was very pine nut flavored forward instead of parm tasting which I loved. 4. Tiramisu with Chocolate, Bourbon, Espresso, Smoked Vanilla Gelato. This was amazing. I loved that you could actually taste the coffee flavor and the smoked gelato added so much depth. Our server was so nice. He gave us amazing recommendations. The people who came to table to serve our food were so joyful and just so sweet. The place is stunning. Being in the Gold Coast, it's definitely fancy. There's a dress code of business casual by the way!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time eating here .
.. food was amazing and the waiter helped us pick some great appetizers and main dishes. I would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyThe tasting menu is a complete rip-off.
Don't do it! My sister and I paid $88 per person for the 7 course tasting menu. 5 savory courses and 2 dessert courses. I don't even have pictures because each course is about one bite. It was really disappointing since when we walked in, we saw the sizeable portions that other diners had, we assumed that the tasting menu would be substantial enough so that we're not hungry. I generally like tasting menus even with their small portions, but this is a little extreme considering how generous the portions are for the a la cartel dishesWe also ordered the bread service so we at least felt full. It's just disappointing because for 2 people for the tasting menu, we could have ordered so many different dishes for $176. So sad. And I'm still so hungry. :( :( :(
Be the first to ReplyThis place is AMAZING! Had a team dinner here last night
This place is AMAZING! Had a team dinner here last night with 9 people and the food just blew us away. And you read that correctly, is not just me. We ordered a variety of apps: meatballs, oysters, truffled Caesar. Tomato Caprese, Burrata, and the 4 handmade pasta so everyone could try the food. Everything was soo very delicious. For entrees we did the same, ordered a bunch so weCould all sample different things and it was the best Italian food I have eaten in a long while. We had the Salmon, Scallops, chopped veal, filet, branzino and more and had no complaints. Now let's me real here. This place is not cheap but it is well worth it. The chopped veal was huge. We ordered 3 for the table it was way too much food. Did the same for the dessert and the fried donut did me in. The restaurant was packed, it's nicely decorated like high end and they spares no upgrades on the decor. Try this place out and you will not regret it.
Be the first to ReplyA magnificent evening.
The food was an absolute flavor festival. Every dish. Every appetizer and dessert. The service was exceptional. We were 9 diners and our waiter was so superb! You can have a staycation with their 1st class cocktail menu. Love the place!

Came to Adalina to celebrate 6 year anniversary with my girlfriend and boy was this a great experience. I stopped by the restaurant a day before the reservation to drop off the bottle of Champagne I wanted to open for our anniversary, and get a chance to talk to the sommeliers. Alex and Michael took care of the bottle and wrote down the needs for the next night. The night of our dinner, the service could not have been better. Michael took out our bottle and presented to us, he opened it in front of us without making a single noise. True pro. He was very helpful with picking out a bottle of wine for our meal, I am not very well versed in Italian wines. Our waiter, Lucas, was very attentive. He topped off our wines through out the night without our glasses ever going empty. I mentioned to my girlfriend the head chef has one Michelin star under his belt and she brought it up to Lucas while I was in the bathroom. Lucas mentioned it to the head chef and he brought one of the dishes we ordered. Got to meet him and say hello. Really wanted to have a chat with him but we knew he was really busy with the night. Girlfriend was freaking out that he came to say hi, she said it was the coolest thing that's ever happened to her at a restaurant. The food there was excellent. Flavors were robust and hearty. I enjoyed a plate of wagyu, I've had it before and knew what I was expecting but some how this blew my girlfriend and I away. Did not snag a picture of what my girlfriend was having, but she enjoyed a plate of gnocchi della nonna. She's not the biggest fan of tomatoes normally, but she ate all the tomatoes on the plate.Overall experience, it was memorable in the best of ways. What I was surprised by the most was how well we were treated. My girlfriend and I are in our early twenties and sometimes we don't get taken very seriously at other restaurants, perhaps because we look very young. We were taken care of so well here and it was great. It is definitely a place I would love to go back to again and again. I would also like to give a big shout out to the wait staff who were topping of the water glasses. Might be a small detail but I never had to wave anyone down to ask for more.
Be the first to ReplyBeware small portions.
I did not give 4 stars because of this. I gave 5 stars because the food was amazing. The atmosphere was cool. The service was excellent. The host at the front desk was very friendly and willing to take pictures. I cant remember her name but she took great pictures of us.

The environment is very cool! Lots of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, tables are close together, and music is pretty loud. I wish there weren't as many tables. It felt very crowded. Service was very fast. We ordered 4 dishes and two drinks, our waitress recommended we get 6 dishes, which felt like way too many. To start it was Valentine's Day and they had a cute handwritten note and some truffles. Started with a dirty martini, xtra dirty and this was so hard to drink. I love my dirty martinis and this was straight vodka. My least favorite I have had in the city. They gave us a complimentary little bread to start, with marinara and Parmesan. That little bite was delicious. For apps we ordered the bread service. The flavors were nice, it was a bit too cheesy for my liking.Next we had the lumache and the chitarra pastas. These were both great. My boyfriend and I split everything, the portions are great sizes! I loved the lumache, it had a chili flavor which made the dish and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. We next had the 8 oz filet which was also perfectly cooked. Food was great! I don't think I will come back, but food was great, drinks were lacking. This is a good spot to go before a night out for the loud ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyVisited Adalina for my birthday on a Friday night.
Had high expectations coming in, and it was even better than I anticipated! Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with recommendations and our questions. She went above and beyond to make sure my dish was customized for my dietary preferences. I ordered the bread service, cacio e Pepe arancini, and lumache (without seafood) for dinner. The bread service is a can't miss dish - it was warm, garlicky, cheesy perfection. The arancini was tasty with well balanced flavors. The pasta was the perfect portion size and had a really nice hint of spice. All of these are good options if you're deciding what to order. At the end of the meal, they served a complimentary dessert for my birthday. It was a cake with chocolate fill and graham cracker crust, topped with a melty marshmallow. A fun take on s'mores that made for a great treat!
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give this place 6 stars, I would.
We happened to be downtown attending an event and made dinner reservations for Adalina. It also happened to be the week of my birthday so we thought it would be a nicer place for a celebration. When the server came over and began explaining the menu, I knew I was in trouble when my mouth literally began watering from her descriptions. We ended up ordering the 3 dishes she recommended and the meal did not disappoint. The Gnocchi Fritto was an amazing blend of sweet and salty deliciousness. The fried green tomato caprese was fresh, light, and had the most interesting Calabrian Chiles which is now my new favorite fruit garnish. The Mafaldine was a blend of tastes and seasonings unexpected in an Italian pasta dish but gastronomically incredible. Chef Soo Ahn occasionally walked the restaurant to greet guests and on one of his early passes, I asked to get a picture of him. He seemed a little shy until I told him it was my birthday. Well, did he ever treat us!! Complimentary lemoncellos with 2 incredible desserts to share which he personally brought over. I actually felt like I was leaving family by the end of the night but looking forward to seeing them again soon!!
Be the first to ReplyI dined at Adalina about two weeks ago to celebrate my 21st
I dined at Adalina about two weeks ago to celebrate my 21st birthday! The place was packed since it was a Friday night, but thankfully I made a reservation at the peak dinner time couple of weeks ago. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and the interior of the restaurant was impressive. We got the Gnocco Fritto as an appetizer, Lumache, and Veal chop for our entree meals. Firstly, I highly recommend the Gonocco Fritto for my prosciutto and cheese lovers out there! This comes with a chewy beignet that pairs well with the saltiness of the prosciutto and the sweetness of the whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta with the honey was so light but full of depths in its flavor. This was a perfect light appetizer to start our dinner. For our entrees, I was a bit nervous to try the veal chop because I never tried veal before. First, I was blown by the size of the veal chop, then I was blown by how softly the veal was cooked. The overall taste of veal was not to my palette, but Adalina certainly has the expertise to cook the veal to perfection. The Lumache was absolutely delicious! Every bite I took was embraced with the texture of seafood and a bit of the sting (not that spicy) from the chile in the sauce. In the end, our server William was also kind enough to surprise us with a birthday complimentary dessert! Our server William was well-versed and pleasant.Adalina hit all the right points and my birthday could've not been any more magical than dining in at Adalina!

We came here with a last minute reservation for a friends birthday. From the beginning, we had a good experience-The staff was so accommodating and friendly! We ordered a few of the pasta dishes and some sides. Don't be fooled by the look of the pesto not pesto pasta- it was surprisingly DELICIOUS! The oil and cheese and Basil and spices are the unseen sauce in this pasta and they come together beautifully. The fried green tomatoes app is another must. In terms of sides, we all enjoyed the mushrooms. For dessert, they brought out this beautiful pink popsicle dessert that took me back to childhood with its bubblegum, cotton candy, and cereal flavors. Overall, it's a beautiful restaurant with delicious food! Perfect for big or small groups.
