Room nice but felt more like a hostel experience!
My husband had a couple of nights here. The room was nice enough and certainly clean. My issue was the outside area along with the breakfast. The outside areas were needing tidied up in a big way. Get rid of the old bike racks and deckchairs ( put them out of view)โฆ tidy that area up! Cut back the hedge that you squeeze around to get to the rooms at the backโฆ paint the steps/ decking and pop a nice door mat down. Make it more welcoming. We had a feeling of dread before we even entered our room! First impressions matter! My other observation was โbreakfastโ This was where I felt that I had returned to the Youth Hostel experience. Yesโฆ the quiche that came out was lovely. What about setting out the breakfast counter. Make cereals readily available, pop out jugs of orange juice and milk, pop the bagels/ muffins in a basket instead of having to open up packets and bags. Ditch the paper plates and plastic cutleryโฆ itโs cheap and nasty. Individual portions of jam/ butter are better than communal jars where everyone is touching them. It wouldnโt take any money to improve this breakfast experience. Glasses and proper cups, napkins and coffee on tapโฆ plus a tea box of different teas with hot water. Easy things to remedy. Iโve stayed in many Nantucket B and Bโs and sadly this one was the poorest.

Perfect location. Our room was so comfortable and the entire place was so quaint and incredibly clean. Nate is amazing - so helpful and he makes an amazing quiche! Breakfast on the enclosed porch was the best way to start the day. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Nantucket B&B
We just returned from a perfect getaway on Nantucket at The Anchor Inn. We love the location on Centre Street, it is so close to town. The rooms are very clean and the linens/beds very comfortable. Nate the innkeeper welcomes you with a smile and has great recommendations for where to go and places to eat. Nate made delicious quiche and frittatas each morning, and we enjoyed eating breakfast on the outside tables. We stayed in Tucker, private 2nd floor entrance, small porch nice room. Previously stayed in Horatio and we loved the room but the bathroom was TINY.

Inn was Centrally located to Main St. & the ferry. They had free bicycles that we used on a great bike path that started just west of the inn.Room was sweet & the host very helpful.Great place to base yourself for a short visit.

Great location, comfortable and very clean, and our host Nate put it over the top. He was.very helpful in his suggestions on where to eat and visit I would highly recommend this to any first timers to Nantucket as walking was our transportation, as well as one Wave ride and we feel we saw everything we wanted to visit.

What a great stay at Anchor Inn! Nate, the host was so accommodating whether it be a substantial breakfast, giving us a listing of which town restaurants were open, making sure my room was warm enough, or providing bikes for a dayโs ride around the island. Thanks Nate!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic, ideal location, great staff
Stayed 4 nights in the Tucker room. Nice (high) bed, has its own entrance to the room and small porch. Location is perfect for walking to the town or ferry. Yogurt, fresh fruit and muffins for breakfast. Inn keeper was knowledgeable and helpful. Only downside to the room is if you were tall itโs a low shower and there isnโt an interior passageway to interior during bad weather, unless you also booked the adjoining room. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for a night with my girlfriend. I would recommend this place 10/10. Nice Staff, good rooms excelent value. You cannot beat the location. The inn has a fisherman vibe as it used to belong to a famous whaling captain [capt.cyprus] (the first captain to succesfully harpoon a sperm whale in the pacific ocean. :)
Be the first to ReplyNice little stay
Very small but nice B&B right in main downtown Nantucket. Its literally 5-7 minute walk to shops, restaurants and maybe a 10 minutes walk to the ferries. Nice quiet street so away from the noise on the main downtown streets. Great Inn keeper who makes a wonderful quiche each morning. A simple spread of some pastries/English muffins and some fruit and yogurts. Very good coffee as well. Rooms are dated but it adds to the charm of an old inn. Our bathroom was updated and had good water pressure. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Its expensive but so is every B&B on the island. We'd definitely stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyTracy was a huge help
We had reservations here and had a family emergency come up. I spoke with Tracy who was a huge help. This could have been a much more stressful time if it wasn't for her. She deserves recognition for going above and beyond.
