A group of us went to Aroma for restaurant week.
The place is lovely, nice ambience, not noisy, very pleasant surroundings. Our waitress Chloe was professional, attentive and with a lovely smile at all times. She brought us a basket of bread served cold! Went back, should have been brought warm without asking! The dipping oil was quite nice. The menu was quite nice, many choices. For starters with all had the Mozzarella with smoked prosciutto , and tomatoes, a nice tasty dish. only one of us has the Arugula with wild mushroom and shavings of Parmigiano drizzled with Olive oil, she thought the Parmegiano Reggiano was kind of missing in action !!The home made Potato Gnocchi tossed with a Pork Ragu and Parmigiano Reggiano was liked by the two people that ordered it. Ravioli filled with Maine Lobster , shrimp and Ricotta in a light cream sauce looked quite good. My grilled Black Angus Rib-Eye Steak had to go back as it was no grilled rare as ordered. The next one was perfectly season, rare and it was delicious. The rainbow trout needed a better sauce, was kind of blend. Desserts were ok, Pear cake with Gelato , was nothing to write home about. The Zeppole, served with a Chocolate and Nutella Dipping, could have been much better, if served pipping hot and the sauce a bit warmer. All in all it was ok. Compliments to our waitress Chloe , who was on top of things at all times.
Be the first to ReplyWe had my son's wedding here.
It was phenomenal! The entire experience was above and beyond--from the beginning, they were super easy to work with all the way to the day of the wedding. The food, service, and accommodations were superior--we wanted for nothing. The ambiance was just what our daughter in law wanted which was warm and cozy. I would recommend Aroma in a heartbeat for dinner for two or a group and especially a wedding reception! Thank you, Alex!

Best Italian in town! Love their seafood pasta and affoggato dessert! Service is OK- sometimes feels like they are rushing you - place can be bit loud also but overall still a very decent Italian food place!

There is nothing better than a warm and delicious Italian meal on a cold night. I was in the area with friends. Other than the wonderful meal and the warm atmosphere, what it special was the service. Due to a variety of circumstances, we kept pushing back the reservation. The staff was attentive, professional, and courteous. Though we got there later than expected, we were not pushed out or forced to shovel our meal down our throats. It was a wonderful experience. I would seriously consider going back next time I am in the area.

Haven't been here in a while and was a bit nervous to try it after realizing the original Italian owners had sold it a few years ago. The food wasn't the same delicious high quality that I was used too. The service was slow and haphazard, though friendly enough. They seemed confused by a two person reservation I had made a few days earlier - couldn't seem to find it and then walked me around several dining spaces before figuring out where to seat us.The bread was cold and nothing special, the olive oil was fresh and peppery. Wine by glass offerings pretty basic and expensive for the selections. Pasta dishes were fine. The prices have gone up, but quality has gone down. It was once one of my very favorite places for authentic Italian food in the area and sadly, I'll have to find somewhere else now. Not a place I'd seek out again anytime soon.

Delicious, Clean, Best Service! Ordered the octupus with canellini beans & arancini balls for appetizer! One word: A-MA-ZING! Such flavor and cooked to perfection. Then again I can say that for the rest of the night dining here. For entrees: chicken piccata & cavetelli with pancetta in a red sauce! Desert was affogato & ricotta cheesecake. Everything was amazing & our waiter was the same from last time, still remaining professional & fast with serving us! Drinks were also great!! I had a glass of the sauvighnon blanc while my boyfriend had Buffalo Trace.

Until travel to Italy is practical again, I'll be back to Aroma Osteria. Living in Rome has made me kind of a snob about Italian food here, but this place made me happy and nostalgic. Out of the way, and charming...creative menu choices that made it hard to choose. I've seen good and bad reviews about the service, but we had a gracious, efficient person who answered questions, offered advice, and paid attention to our satisfaction.

The owner is always there and is a pleasure to deal with! The menu never disappoints and it truly is a great experience every time we've been there! This is truly one of the "must go" establishments in the area!

Service is great and accommodating to dietary restrictions! Parking is spacious!
Be the first to ReplyThe portions were fair.
The place is absolutely beautiful but I was missing the playfulness of the natural herbs and spices I was hoping to find with such a classy place. The desserts on the other hand were very tasty and would most likely just go back for the dessert.

Had my daughter's baby shower at Aroma Osteria and it was wonderful. The food was wonderful, waitstaff was attentive and Alex is a pleasure to work with. No hesitation to recommend for an event or an enjoyable dinner.

Have been here many times for dinner and it is by far some of the best italian food you can get in the area (way better than Cosimos). The only knock is that this place can be terribly slow with service. When we come with a party of 5 or 6 it can take us 2-3 hours to eat. Would I go back again, yea of course because the food is great. Just be weary if you have time restrictions.
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I returned to this restaurant, post-pandemic,
My wife and I returned to this restaurant, post-pandemic, looking forward to a renewal of the quality we remembered from years past. Well, that's where searching for nostalgia will trip you up. The disappointment was almost tragic given the general shortage of fine dining in this area. Like many other restaurants, Aroma having returned from the dead is now operating shorthanded--no one permanently there to greet, check reservations and coats, no bartender, a skeleton wait staff and one doesn't need to know the kitchen crew is now either inexperienced or poorly trained. Shall we begin? The wines by the glass offered a reasonable pour at $12-13 but the choices were minimum,--two reds and a few whites. Now, there is one of the great wine stores in the area almost across the road from the restaurant and you'd think they could take advantage of that fact and stock a greater diversity. Potential supply chain issues are not the problem. Next, their salads were great as remembered, one a version of the Caesar and the other a tasty combination of smoked trout and arugula (but, note, the usual peppery arugula was almost tasteless, no doubt a result of the winter season). The entrees were both face plants (or maybe belly flops depending on your anatomical location of choice) for different reasons. The special fish of the day, a trout served over barley, was beyond bland and not especially fresh and definitely not worth the $32 (you can't make up all your lost profits during the closure with one dish!). The chicken in porcini mushroom sauce was tough and poorly cooked, the sauce itself much too slimy. So that was the good news, the bad was that the portions were generous! After we mentioned our disappointment to the server (in the kindest most understanding way), we received a visit from the manager who I think was trying to look concerned but his demeanor might have equally been understood as preliminary to a punch in the nose. To his credit, he tried to make things whole, or at least better. We did, however, pass on the complimentary limoncello, since Madame had already bolted and was revving the car engine. It genuinely pains me to write this review since we have been fans for years and chose Aroma to help signal the end of a much-too-long absence from the joys of restaurant dining and this was our go-to first choice. Too many expectations? Possibly, but our altered universe has had its effect on Aroma. We'll content ourselves for the foreseeable future with former fond memories of it.
Be the first to ReplyThis place always seems to be hit or miss for me.
Sometimes you can get something really different here, that is amazing and other things on their menu are not as different and more cliché. Their drinks are really delicious I'd say everything is pretty fairly priced. I would say for a Hudson Valley restaurant that is supposed to be a little on the higher end, I wish it was a touch better than it was.

My friend and I had lunch here during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. There was lots to chose from the menu. The only thing I would have liked to see is a fish dish entree on the menu. The food was great and the server was amiable and attentive. We will be returning. Great place.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is pretty good, service is meh.
They rush you out, pretty much want to take my food and I wasn't done eating. And this was around 9 pm so they weren't turning our table over. The ambiance was nice but needs updating. Also bartender is sloppy, constantly wiping his face with paper towels and his hands and then making drinks. Ew!
Be the first to ReplyThis used to be a nice restaurant.
No longer. No COVID protocols at all.We had reservations, sat outside crammed with a bunch of unmasked adults and children. There were multiple parties going on while we were there and seemed to be the priority. Service was inattentive, slow. We ordered drinks, but decided that things were so bad we would leave. Didn't finish our drinks and paid for them. We couldn't leave this place fast enough.

Excellent! Restaurant got on my list when I was looking for places to eat while the work team was in town. Menu looked really good, but the food far exceeded my expectations. Cloey was an excellent waitress, took great care of us as was very personable. We got multiple apps and then we all tasted each other's dishes. The picky eater and vegetarian were completely satisfied so it was a huge win!
Be the first to ReplyI remember coming here as a teenager and being very
I remember coming here as a teenager and being very impressed - fast forward to the present day and I could honestly sum Aroma Osteria up in two words "fake fancy"... Its almost like they try so hard here to be high class that it takes away from the restaurant. Let me explain... I came here with my girlfriend as she was in the mood for Italian food that evening. Outside is very nice, although it is hidden from rt 9 - tucked along side a car dealership and Mavis tires. Staff dress in white shirts and black pants but look mostly messy, where the host dressed like he was Ricky Martin (quite odd). We sat outside under a canopy of rubber grape vines. This along side the sound of cars racing up and down rt 9 really made you feel like you were in Italy! Our waitress was not in the mood to be at work that evening, and mispronounced a few ingredients off of the specials list she read from. We attempted to order apps and wine to start, but we're quickly told that is against the rules here and we're forced to order all the food at once. When we asked her for a wine suggestion she appeared to be confused and said "a lot of people get this"... Well "this" turned out to be a $51 bottle of red wine-like vinegar. Rice balls were delicious for an appetizer. My dinner, squid ink pasta with seafood was alright... something you could get at any good pizzeria. The highlight of the meal was absolutely desert though. Two cappuccinos and affogato were the best choice we made all night. Overall I honestly do not see myself coming back, food was just ok at best, and service was lousy. They would really have to change some things around for me to visit again. Hopefully if you decide to come, you have a better experience.

For an upscale restaurant the person at the host stand was extremely unprofessional. We walked in and she was enjoying an apple. Her mouth was completely full. It was off putting, unappetizing and unprofessional. I would say it took a few moments for her to even greet us due to her complete focus on her little snack. Our server provided impeccable service to our table. She was very attentive and completely genuine. The drinks were phenomenal. The food was deliciou. 5 Stars for our server!Overall the only damper on our experience was the older woman at the front. Not sure if she is hard of hearing or just lacks customer service skills.
Be the first to ReplyI wanted to love this restaurant, but the staff made it
I wanted to love this restaurant, but the staff made it very hard. My recent experience was incredibly disappointing. I came to Aroma for my little sisters 25th Bday with a group of 15. Due to an accident en route, the guest of honor and I were 25 mins late for a 5pm reservation . Despite the rest of the group already being there, seated, and orders in, we were rushed from the moment we met the rest of the party. Our server seemed frenzied with frenetic energy and demanded orders with an explanation that there was another party after us and we needed to get started. Initially I understood the need to get things moving along, but the rush never ended. We made the best of it, ignoring this obvious sense of annoyance. We enjoyed the food which is the reason for the two stars. The menu is limited but they've perfected them. Everyone enjoyed their food. The cocktail were on the sweeter side, so we all ended sticking to wine and beers after the first round. The ambiance is the typical elegant Italian vibe, but the hustling staff is hard to ignore. The bill included the 18% auto-gratuity, which is standard for the large group. Id say look somewhere else if you're looking to have a celebratory dinner with good vibes and no sense or turning a table over despite the restaurant being empty.
