Made reservations for right when they opened at 5pm.
We came in December when it was pretty chilly, at least for us. The main door is on Drury lane, the inside bar seating is nice and warm with hooks under the seating and coat hooks behind you.The staff was very nice and greeted us as soon as we entered. I like the bar seating because it is right in front of where they prepare all the food. The time it took for our food to come out was pretty quick. Everything we had was really good! I especially liked the iberian ribs that just fell off the bone and really nicely seasoned along with the mashed potatoes under it and some crispy potato bits too. Be sure to try some of the specials that they have on the menu! The two we tried were really good and the dessert chocolate tart had a layer of caramel between the chocolate and the tart. It also came with a delicious if not slightly too sweet caramel ice cream.I'd say definitely come early when they open and/or make reservations because they were really busy by the time we left at 6:30 or so
Be the first to ReplySo good! It's a tapa style and food was excellent.
We were in London visiting friends and they recommended it and so glad they did. We had the broccoli, calamari and a whole fish (think it was cod) cooking in olive oil and lemon. All of it was delicious!
Be the first to ReplyService inconsistent and not worth the price.
Long wait for a single diner and service was rushed without a consistent server when I finally got seated. Next time I will go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyI've been here twice and loved it both times.
Just ask the waiter for tapas recommendations, and you'll be fine!
Be the first to ReplyWe came as a large group and ordered a bunch of stuff.
- squid ink rice, very evenly seasoned/dressed- croquetas, chicken and ham- Spanish tortillas, best part is there's a runny egg with the seafood inside - pork belly bunwere the more memorable ones The food here is fine, it's not "bad" by any means. But for the price it's not worth it in my mind. I think this place would be good for a corp event - large space and expensed :p

Be the first to ReplyLong overdue review.
This place is located in the Soho area and is a relatively small restaurant with very limited seats. They have around 15-20 counter-only seats. I can't recall if they allow you to make reservations or not. But if they do, I strongly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We waited for an hour or so to be seated. They serve non traditional, more modern type tapas dishes. We opted for a few popular dishes that the server recommended, most of the tapas we had were decent. I particularly liked their squid ink rice (Arroz Negro), the texture of the rice and the flavor were on point. Pork belly was tender and well-cooked, skin was crispy but I probably wouldn't order that again. The only complaint would be the oysters, they were on the briny side but served a bit warm and slightly fishy for our liking. As for the drinks, I enjoyed my sangria. All in all, it's a very cute spot! A modern Spanish restaurant located in the heart of covent garden. Ambiance is good. Location is just perfect. It's one of the most popular restaurants in Soho right now. Def worth a try in London!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good, but the service is absolutely abysmal.
The waiter had forgotten to put our order through to the kitchen - so of course 30 minutes later, we enquired about our food (as they should come out fast, tapas style).Got a half-hearted apology from another member of staff. Who then put the order through properly. But no offer of a free drink. The original waiter, while serving our dishes later and also bringing us the bill, did not offer any apologies. Nor offered to take the service charge off the bill. When I mentioned I'd like the service charge taken off, he just agreed - again, no apologies offered at that point.Another staff member did come by to ask how our food was. And we mentioned it was good, but the waiter forgot to put the order through and there was a long wait. Again, a half hearted apology, and an excuse "oh we have new staff". This on a Saturday evening, where they should definitely not be deploying any new staff. While the food is good, there's no shortage of good Spanish small plates in London, with better service, for the same price point (which is not cheap by the way, I'd say mid to upper range). So why come here?

Such a cute spot with counter-only seating, which keeps the environment intimate. It was late afternoon and we needed a bite to tide us over until dinner, so we were able to grab 2 seats. The service was quick and friendly and the hardest part was not stuffing ourselves! - ham and cheese croquetas: piping hot and deliciously creamy on the inside. was tempted to order another round as soon as we took the first bite. - tomatos and sardines: the tomatoes were flavorful and made me feel like I was picking them out at a market or farm. combined with the sardines and red onions it was a perfectly savory and salty bite. - wild mushrooms: a delicious variety of mushrooms that were topped with 2 jammy eggs and a sauce that was reminiscent of gravy but not as thick. mushrooms and eggs separately are some of my favorite building blocks so this dish was heaven for me! - chorizo special with roasted potatoes: the meat was deliciously spiced and paired perfectly with the potatoes and what I believe was a light mustard sauce. deceptively hearty for it's small size!If you find yourself walking around London and happen across one of the 3 locations stop in for a bite!

A stone's throw from our hotel, we walked over to Barrafina for a late dinner and were greeted and seated immediately. Stools wrap around a high bar and the place is full of charm and delightful smells. Tapas and wine menu are both extensive. Servers know their food and it helps if you speak Spanish and can get some inside tips. Everything we ordered was delicious and en pointe. The aubergine special had an amazing smoky flavor and was cooked to perfection. Pay attention to the specials on the small blackboard: those are fresh and change daily. Ham croquettes and tortilla deserve special mention, and dessert was a creamy custard-type cake drizzled with honey and nuts. Delish! You can't go wrong here!

Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner! Loved the Spanish food! Bar seating.
About 30+ pounds each. Recommend for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyI recommend this place for locals and visitors alike.
The food, service, and ambiance is wonderful. Fantastic flavors and options. I can't wait to come back. A great place to go before or after the theater in the West End. Worth the stop.
Be the first to ReplyWow, a great spot.
Super busy, even on a Monday night! Be prepared to queue unless you get here early, they have some back bar spots to hang with drinks until you get a proper tapas bar seat.We ordered a ton of items. Here's the list:Almonds: good, not earth shattering. Ham croquetas: crazy good.Iberica ham: cold meat that is divine!Chipirones: tiny fried cuttlefish (think mini squid) that are so crispy and delicious I could have eaten my weight in them.Rabo de Toro: probably the best thing I have eaten in quite some time. Oxtail with some insane whipped potato that blew my mind. Order this, do it now. So good I'd come here for this alone.Chorizo and white bean tortilla: killer little omelette! Really nice, not spicy at all.Baby gem salad with walnuts: crisp and tasty, nothing that special though.Tempura monkfish special (no menu pic): if it's offered, order it and thank me later. Crispy and amazing.Nice folks - we got a bottle of tasty Tempranillo too, and it rocked. Come here - you'll be glad!
Be the first to ReplyWay too much salt on everything.
Wine selection limited. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. The service was good, so they get two stars vs one star.

Oh man, so let me just say, don't count this place out just because there's several locations. It really is like a bit of Spain in London. The items here are tapas style so think smaller plates but more of them. The iberico ham was delicious of course. But so were the patas bravas and the squid ink rice. The prawns and the soft shell crab was super fresh and sweet. Everything including the wait staff was perfect. I would not change a thing. The price point is a bit more expensive than the other restaurants I've been to in London so far, but I'd say it's worth it. Go to any one of their many locations in London. You won't be disappointed.

You know when you have something at a restaurant, and thinking about it days later still makes your mouth water? Whelp, that is how I feel about the Pan con Tomate at Barrafina. Something so simple, yet done so deliciously by Barrafina. It was the perfect beginning to a lovely meal. We also tried the Pimientos de Padrรณn (another simple dish done perfectly), the Chipirones (fried, but still super light and tender), and the Pork Belly, among other things. One of the few misses of the meal for me was the Chick Peas that came with the Pork Belly. The Pork Belly was crispy tender deliciousness, but the chick peas just didn't seem like the right texture to complement the pork belly. But, all in all, a wonderful meal. This location is small, but it's well worth getting there early, or waiting to get a seat. I'll be back, Barrafina!
