good food good vibes
Loved the hip hop theme and atmosphere. Ordered the vegetarian sloppy joe and it was delicious. Would recommend the crispy catfish and classic mac

I did not go into the restaurant. This was a delivery during COVID 19. I got charlyโs chicken sandwich (I got fried, though grilled is available), which wasnโt bad, but wasnโt as tasty as it was presented as on the menu. It had bacon, cheddar, pickle, and spicy mayo. Despite all of this, it somehow ended up under-seasoned and bland. I also ordered the Mac-n-cheese, made with cheddar sauce and garlic bread crumbs. The fries were seasoned and hand cut, though a little greasy. Again, under-seasoned and not flavorful like I thought it would be. This place also has burgers, chicken and waffles, and some meat and Caribbean dishes. I would probably try this place again, though this initial meal was disappointing.

My friend lives in Mott Haven part of the Bronx & has introduced me to some places in the area. Beatstro looked interesting because It looks like a record store when you first walk in, cool! The decor inside is cool too! The back wall is a feature wall of speakers. The restaurant has a Hip-Hop theme & the tunes were good, but LOUD! Felt more like a club then a restaurant. I like tasting new things at new places so I had the Fried Oysters, Coconut shrimp Yuca Fries & a Kale salad. I don't eat meat (more of a pescatarian) but I was hoping for a nice Veggie dish or side. The Kale ceasar sufficed but it was just a kale ceasr. The oysters AND shrimp felt over cooked but decent flavor. I had 2 drinks, the Unbelievable, that is somewhat of a moscow mule & the Gin n Juice that was more like a flavored mojito. both a bit sweet for my taste. I tried two since I wasn't feeling the 1st one. Over all the place is not bad just not GREAT, the hype was that HYPE. I guess for the theme it works but feels like a gimick

We had a ball. The food and service was good. The music wasn't to loud. It wasn't busy when we got there. We will go back

This place was so great. Food was on point to the tee. Steak & eggs so yummy. Music was dope and the ambiance was perfect. Reservation was kinda unorganized but they got all 20 of us seated. We will return again & tell all friends to join.

Being a Bronxite, I'd been hearing a lot of buzz about this place for a while now. I'm usually the type to to wait until after the initial hype wears off before trying something. New year, new places, I decided to give brunch a shot with my fiance to celebrate our engagement (it was a big weekend!)
I wasn't sure whether it would be packed with standing room only, as we didn't have reservations, so we were able to sit at the bar, which gave us a good view. I must say, it was packed but when the bartender took our orders, service was very quick. We both got the bottomless sangrias for $18.95 for 90 minutes to drink, which is a bargain, and you won't need more than 3! I ordered the Man Good Tres Golpes and my fiance got the Muller Apple Cider Waffles. My plate was very good and the food was honest without being too greasy. He liked his dish and was stuffed, which I of course took as a license to steal pieces off his plate (I approve.) We also ordered the Red Potato Home Fries before we left, which was spicy potatoes, good to have after some drinks.
The music was apropos and not only was it Hip Hip, but the DJs featured some Reggae and even Soca, which won over my fiance, who is Trini. I must admit, DJ G-Bo the Pro was one of the deciding factors in my coming out, as I've been a fan of his for some time. The decor featured graffiti murals and photos adorning the walls by prolific artists and photographers, who've been in the game since it started. The ornate chandeliers, oversized Moet bottles, lighting, and walls gave the place a nightclub type feeling. You felt like you were out on the town instead of eating breakfast.
While I'm not sure I'd make this a weekly visit because it's special, I'm definitely a fan and I will be bringing friends.
