First off, thank you for all of the reviewers who highlighted their favorite dishes from their visits. I'm taking your MO and paying it forward. This place is pure rock and roll. Second, if you're looking for a quiet and mellow dining experience, this place won't be for you. There is no way around this. This place is packed with guests, the kitchen is wide open in the mining dining room (inside) and the music is loud. This was on a Thursday evening. You were cautioned. Best dinner experience I've had in L.A. Highly recommend (all have pics except the prawns, they went quickly): Appetizers: Peruvian scallop crudo: sublime flavor profiles. The staff will recommend that you consume them similar to sucking down an oyster. Do it. You'll still get the full taste. Prawns: they were so good I didn't have time to take a pic (you'll see some other dishes are kind of half or a quarter way eaten, the prawns never stood a chance). A little heat, exquisite. Roasted marrow bone: another dish that was just attacked. I barely managed the fuzzy pic I got. The server carves the marrow bone into the gnocchi. As other reviewers mention, you can use the bread to sop up the remaining marrow but those soft gnocchi pillows are heavenly. Pasta: Ricotta tortelli: very good, but next time, I'll give another dish a try. If you're dining with kids, this one is very kid -friendly with enough flavor to please everyone else at the table. Ricotta gnocchi: OMG. The servers recommend you don't mix the burrata cheese ahead of time but instead just dish out chunks of cheese with your spoon and mix in the gnocchi. Do it. Excellent flavors. Smoked sweet corn agnolotti: superb. I could have enjoyed more lobster but I'm being very picky here. I'm so happy that corn got it's day in the sun on this menu. Underrated flavor that really makes this dish stand out. Second course: They were out of the pork loin (boo), the service staff offered a sliced pork chop alternative. Mother of pearl (yay). This dish was a haiku. The pork chop was served medium -rare with a sweet flavor. It was served with red cabbage leaves that were pickled in a sweet/sour marinade that offset the meat perfectly. Simple, yet deep. Dessert: Olive oil cake: my favorite from the trio we ordered. The sorbets that accompanied the cake were wonderful compliments. Strawberry crostata: wonderful bourbon-y (not described in the menu) flavor that you detect after a few bites. Red corn maple ricotta fritters: nice taste. Don't regret the choice but I will try something different next time. This place is expensive, but very worth it. Plan on about $100 per person minimum (w/ about 1 cocktail per person). If you can splurge and won't mind the music, do it. Do it.
