Contemporary Polish cooking
I’d dinner at Bez Gwiazdek. The menu of this neighbourhood restaurant changes monthly. For October, chef Robert Trzopek takes inspiration from the Lodzkie province in Poland. I opted for the 6-course tasting menu with meat. The other choice would be a vegetarian version. All dishes were beautifully presented. I liked them all except the one with chicken liver. There’s nothing wrong with it. Just that I’ve never liked chicken liver because of its very strong and sharp taste. The main course (some kind of millefeuille of goose and potato) and the dessert with pumpkin mousse and hazelnut were particularly delicious. Food came in small portions (except the main course) but I wasn’t hungry at the end of my meal. The staff were nice and the atmosphere relaxed. Recommended.

The restaurant choosen for a bussines meeting. Unfortunately below my expectation. the menu was rather dull and way of serving quite pretentious. Not the best option in my mind.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the Best in Warsaw
We have been to most of the high quality restaurants in Warsaw and Bez Gwiazdek ranks among the best, and possibly is the best. The menu is based on Polish staples (e.g., potatoes, cabbage, mushrooms, meat) but with modern updates and methods of preparation. The result is delicious traditional food of the highest quality. We paired the meal with wine tastings that included some interesting Polish and European examples and a homemade dessert liquor that was amazing. The meal takes place in a relaxed atmosphere with attentive and helpful service. The restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or just a wonderful evening out.

It’s called ”Without stars” but in fact it’s totally opposite. We’ve eaten in a number of Michelin star restaurants and “Bez Gwiazdek” deserves them for sure. We visit “Bez Gwiazdek” a couple of times a year. Each time we are reassured that it’s the best restaurant in Warsaw. Fantastic food, always recreated in a new taste and form. Very friendly (for us now nearly family) service. Yet very professional. Complemented by a humble Chef. Unique selection of wines and other alcohols. And last but not least, small pleasures. Tasteful home-made bread, good tea, small and exquisite after-dessert sweet bites. The only thing I miss in “Bez Gwiazdek” is the espresso coffee. But even without espresso, we will be returning as long as it exits.

We had a fantastic dinner at Bez Gwiazdek. The service was excellent and the dishes were all delicious. The food was beautifully presented. It was the least expensive Michelin star restaurant we have been to so it felt like exceptional value.

Tucked away lovely little restaurant serving delicious menu. Well worth the price, really tasty meal with a great service. Top quality ingredients.... Chefs were serving themselves which was amazing.

- Nice atmosphere, about 15 tables, jazz music at the right level;
- Competent staff, but the level of service between the waiters that kept changing was uneven;
- Ok selection of local wines, but pricey considering the quality;
- Decent portions;
- Some really well executed dishes, some meant to surprise rather than taste good;
