Been to this place a few times with different groups of friends and most recently heard great news about the Chef so decided to go again. This place has two different menus, one is for regular/ seasonal dishes and the other is for skewers cooked over fire. This concept makes this place very unique and gives you alot of things to try. The skewers come a la carte so that can get pricey. We went on a Sat night and they did not have a few items we wanted so we got a good variety for the group, the best ones were the oysters 1 pc each, the shishito peppers, and the Mochi bacon, both came with 4 pc each. The entrees came out kinda slow so get these ordered quick. I've been a few times and this always seems to be the case and my plate usually is the very last so take my advice and order everything early. The plates do come out as they are ready so thats good. The first out was the sashimi house special. The plate was nicely put together and the fish was fresh and enough for two. Next, was the loaded ramen. It was flavorful and was as expected. The shrimp tacos came next and it had 3 tacos plated very nicely but nothing special. They had a special menu and we ordered a loco moco style dish and it was made with a Japanese meat loaf fried in panko so it was a little crispy, rice, mushroom gravy, and an egg on top. This was the dish of the night but I'm a loco moco fan so keep that in mind. The other dish we ordered came last and was the drunken clams. This was a bowl with an ok amount of clams and sausage cooked in sake. It came with toasted bread so that was a good touch. The sake broth didn't seem to be cooked down enough and that would have made the dish much more flavorful. This place looked to be a good date spot as I noticed several going on that night. There is limited inside seating but they do have a outdoor area. I would recommend getting a reservation because we had one and we still waited 15 mins before seating so they are usually busy.
