Worst Biryani Shop in Singapore
I visited the shop after reading some good reviews. It is overrated. The biryani is very expensive and tasteless, Customer service is the worst. Please just avoid this stall before you get disappointed.

I've tried biryanis at several locations in Singapore since I first arrived last week. Most of them were South Indian style and I was intrigued when I came across pictures of this restaurant that warn customers 'We don't serve dalcha with our biryani" which seemed to be the exception rather than the rule here. I ordered the regular mutton biryani which costed SGD17.50. The biryani served in Bismillah is apparently dum biryani style, popularised by Hyderabadis. It's like meeting an old flame. The only biryani I ate when I was posted in the Middle East was dum style which is more aromatic. They generously gave 3 big pieces of mutton. It was almost entirely mutton meat rather than bones. There were other Hyderabadi dishes like haleem. This will be my order in my next visit.

The advertising hype says its great, not the reality. We ordered two dishes with naan bread. When went to collect, someone else had taken our order. Waited another 20 mins to get it. we ordered paneer masala and an aloo dish. It was luke warm. Worst thing was the naan bread was white doughy and had come out of a microwave not a tandoori oven. Would not eat there again. I guess its for the tourists only. From now on will stick to Little India for great Indian food.

Standard has been gone down. Service staff bad. Owner should look into it. Many other biryani i feel better than this one.
Be the first to ReplyThé raita they gave us was bad!
Quite a disappointment! The briyani was ok but the Raita (yoghurt accompaniment) they gave us was rancid! How could they not have checked! It was horrible. Having heard so much about them, I was quite disappointed
Be the first to ReplyYoung Mutton Dum
Hubby ordered Young Mutton Dum Briyani from One-North branch & it tasted sooooo Good.
The mutton was less oily compared to others we've ordered.
Their rice were so fragrant.
It is really the Authentic Dum Briyani of long ago i tasted during malay weddings in early 90s
Agree, just hype ... nothing more.
I am a great fan of Indian food, and I take them everywhere, even when overseas. After all the rave reviews I read elsewhere, I decided to try it myself. Very disappointed. This could be the most disappointing Indian meal I have had. Ordered a lot of dishes, and was really looking forward to a hearty meal. However, every dish was sub-par, compared to other places where I have had the same dishes like butter chicken, chicken korma, aloo gobi .... what happened?? Even the grilled fish was bland, and not authentic. I could do a better grilled fish using sauces and seasonings bought off the shelf. The vegetable pulao rice and other rice was also not fluffy, like what is expected. And to make matters worse, the price was not cheap. It was my first, and will be my last. Even the Indian food bought from hawker centres, and for a much cheaper price, tastes better.
Interestingly, the pictures on the website and menu look so good! Could it be that due to the pandemic, the master chefs are missing?
Just Hype
We ordered our lunch today via delivery for the 1st time.. Such a disappointment. Never ordering from here again. Samosas came with a watery yogurt base instead of mint chutney as pictured. The moong dal curry was nothing like the picture with tadka (finishing touches), but simply boiled dal which was in the freezer and defrosted. The lamb shank biryani with egg and 2 individual orders of mutton biryani were NOT falling off the bone tender or tasty at all. Wasted $$$. Michelin, seriously??? :(
Be the first to ReplyPathetic service
Went to try the restaurant and the service was pathetic. Firstly, looked like it was closed but upon asking at the shop, they advised that it was open. We seated ourselves and waited and waited and waited and waited. Eventually we got the menus and waited and waited and waited. The waiter was VERY UNPLEASANT and must have had a bad day. The table next to ours also complained of the long wait and this waiters bad etiquette. We then wanted a beverage but not waiter in site. Imagine waiting so long to place an order, I font even want to jmagj e how long the food would take. We decided to leave and then advised the lady who initially helped us but she wasn't phased by our sentiments at all, said that he was gonna come and serve us and almost encouraged us leaving. Won't be going there soon. Should have listened to the reviews online.
Be the first to ReplyWorst starters and Chicken Sheekh Kanab is THE WORST
I have visited this place based on online reviews and some good feedback. Ordered one Chicken Biryani, Goat Biryani and Chicken Sheekh Kebab.
Biryani is pretty average and bland. Sheekh Kebab tasted a bit and left it there. It is uncooked and had a very bad taste. On top of it the items are very pricey in comparison to the taste, service and ambience.
Never going again 🙏
Disgusting, thrown immediately. WHY ARE YOU OPEN????
Unbelievable that in 2020, during Covid, places like that still exist and provide rubbish. Worst meal my wife and I had ever in Singapore, via grab. Worst mutton Biryani in my whole life - they literally served us bones and little fat, and their lamb kebabs would not be eaten even from dogs. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I am Greek, have no bias and a lot of respect for the Indian cuisine and numerous friends. This is the ultimate garbage. I am so upset and this is the first negative review I did in years. DISGUSTED

I went to this place with huge expectations. The food served was cooked couple of hours back including naans. The food was cold and poor in quality. Somebody who rated this place as Michelin Star needs to get oneself mentally tested. Real pathetic food I have eaten in decades.
Be the first to ReplyUsed to be great, but a disappointment now
This was my favorite briyani place when it was managed by the original team. Now it looks like there is a new management and that reflects in the food. The taste and quality of the briyani has dropped tremendously over the last 2 or so years. The name and fame of this restaurant is getting affected and it is sad to see the decline of one of my favorite eateries. I am not going back as the last order was just not only terrible, but looked like the meat was cooked a or so week ago. DISAPPOINTED!
Be the first to ReplyAcceptable choice for Biryani
Another visit to Little India today for lunch, and the first time in several months due to the lockdown restrictions. Today was Biryani day and we both opted for the chicken biryani, prices at $9 for the regular size. Size was reasonable for the price. We supplemented with a mixed veg curry and had the kulfi for dessert. Chicken was a little dry but overall it was ok, and reasonable at the price level. Ordering logistics in the restaurant are a bit annoying and could definitely be improved.
