Blue Point Grill Princeton Reviews from The Last Year
The food was not fresh.
Had the Chilean sea bass. It was not amazing at all. Very disappointed. It was a 49$ dish and the fish was 2 separate smaller pieces and definitely lacked the quality of freshness that we thought we would be getting .
We had a wonderful dinner here.
Great vibe, good drinks, fresh sea food and attentive service. Generous portions too...I am used to a scallops plate having 3-4 pieces. Mine came with 10!

Restaurant Week brings out the crowds and a fulsome menu of greatest hits offerings that never disappoint. Generous portions of shrimp and pasta tied to a New England clam and chocolate chip bread pudding all for a tidy $45. The only downer was a tasteless basket of bread and nearly frozen butter that you couldn't have spread with a flame thrower. A small nit that didn't mar a wonderful meal. Blue Point Grill remains five star worthy.
Years ago this was one of our favorite restaurants.
In addition to family dinners I took many out of towners there. Some of my business collegues made it a point they wanted to eat there when visiting. Alas, those days are over. Last two times we were there the fish was seriously overcooked. Maybe too long under a heating lamp? In past years it was always properly prepared, but maybe with their expanded seating, they've lost some control. The prices are high. I wouldn't mind if the food quality matched, but it really doesn't anymore, sadly.
We came here on NY Eve with a party of 8.
Good thing we had a reservation as the place was very busy. Our server, Gus, greeted us and answered all our questions. And there were plenty as there are so many varieties of fish on the menu. 3 different kinds of Sea Bass alone. His advice was spot on. I had the Carolina Black Sea Bass. Others had cod, shrimp ravioli, the mixed grill (on this night Chilean Sea Bass and Steelhead Salmon). And more. Everyone enjoyed there dishes to the person. We shared Broccoli, Brussel sprouts and the creamed spinach for the table. All very tasty. Not a piece left. I can't say enough for the Garlic smashed potatoes as almost all of us had them. We followed this up with dessert with none of us needed but we all enjoyed, I need to add that the cost was reasonable for a nice night out and the dishes we ordered. Would we come again if we visit Princeton. Yes we would
We greatly enjoyed a mid-December dinner at Blue Point
We greatly enjoyed a mid-December dinner at Blue Point Grill prior to a performance at McCarter Theater. Despite the chilly evening, our table in the enclosed sidewalk space was plenty warm and comfortable. Having left ourselves just an hour for the meal from start to end, our excellent server Sarah W. brought out the dishes and opened our BYO wine quickly such that we didn't feel rushed at all. The selection of East Coast raw oysters was fantastic, ditto for a delicious roasted calamari app and shrimp & crawfish etouffe entree; the tuna poke was just okay. Prices were reasonable. Overall, highly recommended!
Underwhelmed
I don't entirely get the allure. I first came to Blue Point years ago and loved having a fresh seafood restaurant in Princeton, with simple yet tasty preparations. The food is good but there are enough things that leave room for improvement. On this visit, I was disappointed with the smoked tuna pate. You mean tuna salad with some sweet pickles and tortilla chips out of the bag? This is a dish that should not be served. Our server was not engage. The order was taken, but our table was not monitored. The lobster ravioli beautifully presented, but more cheese than seafood. The clusters of lobster knuckle on top were a highlight. Y The dessert stood out and was sinfully delicious. Who doesn't love a chocolate chip cookie dome with a pot of melted chocolate in the middle and a scoop of vanilla? My husband loved his steak and brownie dessert. So the seafood , the reason for coming, could use a boost and some reworking
Blue Point Grill in Princeton, NJ Fresh .
. fresh...seafood A must try is Jalapeño & lime . We ate 12 fresh oysters and bone-in Greek Bronzini For a early weeknight, this is a pack with diners. They sell no alcohol but you can bring your own. Service was ok
When it comes to seafood dishes, some people like theirs
When it comes to seafood dishes, some people like theirs fresh with minimal seasoning. Me? The zestier the better, baby! Shrimp and crawfish étouffée (and mussels and andouille sausage, duh). A little taste of NOLA, but in Princeton, NJ. I'll take it!
Seafood at its finest
Fresh seafood at its finest. Perfectly seasoned and delicious. Salmon was perfectly seasoned and moist. Lime shrimp was amazing.

I've been here many times, this is always the my first choice if i come to Princeton for dinner, never let me down!
So lucky to have this as our local restaurant
We've been coming here for 20 or so years. It is always great. Always tasty. Always easy. We are always welcomed and made to feel special. Tonight was no exception. Our server was Devin and she was lovely - knowledgeable, great chit chat and super professional. Our dinners were delicious and our welcome was warm. We are grateful to live in the neighborhood. Thank you!
Wide variety of seafood, fish, meat dish.
Pistachios crust trout was delicious! Nice kale salad too! Parking is a little bit difficult you just need to find a street parking near by.
Our local go-to place
This is our go-to place in Princeton. You can bring your own wine and the starters are great and is a full meal for us if you pick a couple of them. (Sardines and octopus are our favs).
A nice restaurant in the heart of Princeton
It was a date night here. The food and the service were both top notch. I had the scallops and my date had the char. Both were great, but the highlight was the octopus appetizer. The meal was also reasonably priced given its quality.

I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

You should probably cancel prior to the cancellation date per the cancellation policy. I would imagine you would only get reimbursed for a sold listing if you happen to be charged?

My first sale took about a week. But as the other commenter said stay ontop of your cancellation windows. There’s no reimbursement for those so make sure you cancel in time then just try again.
