Dinner in napa
Fun place. Good cocktails if you’re tired of wine, but plenty of wine to choose from , and the food and service is great. Wait staff was helpful and did great job.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Friendly Service
We had the brussel sprout salad, the bruschetta, and we shared three pasta dishes. The food was excellent, and we would highly recommend. Service was attentive, but not overbearing.

On our first night out during our recent staycation we stopped in Bottega for drinks and an appetizer. We had reservations elsewhere that night but had heard wonderful things about Bottega and wanted to drop in. We really enjoyed the Room 721 and the wide selection of Negronis as well as the Burrata appetizer. We loved how everything tasted and wanted to return for dinner so we did on night two of our staycation. Our server Scott was knowledgeable and took care of us very well. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had to have the room 721 again of course, followed by the hamachi crudo as well as the saffron scallops risotto they had special that evening as well as the braised short ribs Chef Chiarello was famous for. We did not follow up with dessert as everything is very rich but we enjoyed the richness and the food and libations. We highly recommend dining here and if not dining, jump in at the bar and enjoy some drinks and apps!

This restaurant has superb food great ambiance. Our waiter was Murph, so nice and personable with his very thick mustache and upscale service made our experience even better. His recommendations for food were spot on. I would go back today but we were only for one day visiting Napa wineries. Highly recommended this restaurant. Also few Italians have vegan options and this one had a very nice vegan pasta. Thank you for considering people that want to make a difference in the planet by choosing a different type of food.

We have last minute decision to have late lunch at Bottega today, without reservations, and luckily we were able to get a table for 2. We were already half expecting to be turned down and have a backup plan where to go in case no available seats. The appetizers Calamari and Bruschetta and main entries Spaghetti Fusilli Tra Vigne were delectable. Our server Sofia was very attentive and nice, she even gave me a lil dessert plate with a candle as my friend had unceremoniously mentioned it was my birthday while we were ordering. Overall, I would say our dining experience was great and would come back to Bottega Napa.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but check if you want breading on the branzino.
Excellent pear salad. Branzino came breaded which could have been avoided apparently but waiter neglected to ask. Never had it breaded before! All else was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyService bad; food good
Food was good. Our sever had 6 tables, including an 8 top and two 4 tops. Service was slow. Unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplySuperb - highly recommend! Have the short ribs!
Bottega - wow! Great setting and fabulous food. Husband had short ribs which were fantastic…. Atmosphere was superb, really good service and the best meal we had in Yountville. Would highly recommend. Very busy - must book in advance.
Be the first to ReplyBest food, fabulous Italian restaurant in Yountville
The best gnocchi I've ever had in my entire life! We popped into Bottega one afternoon for a drink and decided to have a late lunch at the bar. It was fabulous! I wish we had booked this restaurant for one of our nights in Napa - we will definitely be back to have the full experience. Everything about the restaurant was fabulous. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyMouth-watering Italian Cuisine!
If you're visiting Yountville and you love Italian food, Bottega is a must. The last time we visited, two of us shared a couple of pastas (Ricotta Gnocci and Sophia Loren Spaghetti) plus one secondi (Pollo alla Diavola.) Everything was mouth-wateringly delicious!

Amazing food and service. Michael Chiarrelo was doing the rounds and made a stop. Very personable and humble given the excellent polenta and squid. The branzino was the best I’ve ever had, in Italy or Stateside. A consistent and amazing experience every time we’ve been.
Be the first to ReplyBest Dinner Ever!
My family of 5 are dinner last night at Bottega and it was the top 3 dinners we have ever had.! There was an initial concern of our seating which was outside and it was too cold so I wanted to eat inside. The manager quickly accommodated us inside making us feel so welcomed with our request! The meal was perfectly spaced out by our delightful server so we were not rushed. But the food—- the food was exquisite! The fresh Burrata was the best we have ever eaten, the grilled octopus was like butter, the coffee agradolce short ribs and polenta… oh my god… and the homemade pasta dishes were to die for. If you are going to be in Yountville, you must eat here! Nice work Michael Chiarello!

We were newcomers to Napa and did no advance research. Stopped a woman on the street to ask some questions. Do you know the area? Yes thank goodness. She had lived here for 40 years. What wine tours do you recommend? Where should we eat? She suggested Bottega. I’ve only rarely taken recommendations from strangers but was very happy I followed through on this one. The food was great. We had the Brussel sprout salad and the zucchini lasagna which were both good. But the stand out dish was the braised ribs agro dolce with polenta. Delicious. Many thanks to the happy Napa ambassador.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday Dinner
Went to Bottega for my birthday. We go every year. Always have Gnocchi and it’s delicious. Friends had calamari, pasta with rabbit and chicken. Everyone enjoyed what they had. Ordered dessert and they always brought a free plate of cookies for my birthday but this time only the dessert we ordered and we paid for it. I was disappointed. A small plate of cookies is special and I’m sure they can afford it. Our bill was $260!

Unfortunately, the management at Bottega has ruined which use to be one of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley. The GM seems to not care about the customer nor the experience at Bottega which use to be five star. We tried multiple times to reach out to him and he never returned calls or emails. This was extremely disappointing since we really made an effort to try and resolve our issue to no avail. We had held events at the restaurant before and only had positive things to say, but this last experience with the staff was awful. You don't expect one of the premier regions of the world for dinning would have such a lackluster management team in place. I would strongly advise not to host any events at Bottega. The restaurant is clearly only about turning a profit these days and not offering the upscale dining experience that it use too.
Be the first to ReplyToo slow to enjoy.
This was our fifth or sixth visit in as many years. It’s been an annual tradition to eat here on our last night in Napa Valley. We also tend to order the same thing every time we go because they are our favorite dishes so why argue with success, right? We have come to find things have changed. The Brussels sprout salad is smaller than it used to be. It used to have hard boiled eggs in it. Ours had none this time. The short rib came with polenta that was gummy, like wallpaper paste. The biggest change was the service. The timing just did not work between courses. There was just too much dead space or time between each course. It made the evening awkward and slow. We got our glass of wine to enjoy with our main course and by the time it came the glass of wine was long gone. It just is not the same as we remember it, and sadly no longer lives up to what we had come to know and love about it.
Be the first to ReplyYou better eat first before ytou caome here!
The portions are hideously tiny. The appetizers: calamari--maybe one cut-up small squid; octopus-could barely find the one-piece hidden under the arugula. So sad and expensive. I ordered the rabbit after asking the waiter if it was a good size entree of which he assured me it was. Wrong! I found 2 littles pieces of rabbit hiding under a bowl of macaroni!! The sad part was that I convinced another guest to give it a try because you usually don't find rabbit on a menu....and its fun to experiment with new dishes. Today, my friend sent me a you tube video of Elmer Fudd hunting and looking for "wabbits." What is wrong with resturants who serve microscopic portions??? My recommendation is stay away from this crowded restuarant unless you have lots of money to burn and really aren't hungry.

Bottega is in a charming area of Yountville. It’s a large restaurant with a great patio area with heaters for chilly evenings and nice bar area. We visited this restaurant on our last night in Napa. It did not disappoint. We sat outside in the patio on a beautiful evening. Our table of four shared the wood grilled octopus to start. For dinner I had the Ricotta Gnocchi della Nonna. Little ricotta “pillows” with tomato sauce and pecorino romano. The gnocchi was as light as air. So good! My husband had the Rigatoni al Coniglio. The rigatoni was topped with rabbit and caramelized mushrooms with pancetta and house made ricotta. He loved it! Service was great and we loved the atmosphere. Just make sure to make reservations for this popular restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding New-Style Italian!
I have to say, this was easily the BEST dining experience I had on this particular trip to Napa! We’ve eaten at many restaurants in our trips here, and the food here would make the top 3! I’ll start with the “issues” first: - The place was packed and it was a Wednesday night! - The parking lot was dark as hell, which made it VERY difficult and dangerous to walk through (and avoid tripping over edging, etc) on the way in. But when we left, there appeared to be lights on that weren’t on earlier. This MUST be fixed! - It’s incredibly LOUD in the dining room! The bar is adjacent to the main dining room and people enjoying their drinks and conversation, yelling, laughing (quite obnoxiously) can be VERY LOUD! Which makes it difficult to enjoy a nice, cozy dinner for two. On to the rest of the visit… Their menu is excellently prepared and loaded with interesting and uniquely prepared items. The chef has an interesting use of his tomato water, it’s in his bloody mary and used at a way to boil pasta and it definitely imparts interesting and unique flavors! I started with their Bloody Mary and it was definitely not the norm… it was a water-based style, rather than the thick, mealy, tomato-based style. Flavor was somewhat subdued, but still decent. Their wine list is excellent, so I moved on to utilizing the “by-the-glass” List afterwards. There were so many delicious items on the menu, that we decided to just order several items and split everything. Our server was great, very friendly and helpful and he not only explained interesting things we needed to know (such as the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren being made for Sophia Loren’s 80th birthday). He also split everything in the service of each course for us. Additionally, he paced everything apart perfectly, so we had time to sit, dine, talk, and enjoy our night out without feeling rushed. We started with their Insalatina di Cavoletti di Bruxelles which was very nicely done! The brussel spouts were very finely shredded and the vinaigrette was perfectly added! Next course was the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren, which was my favorite dish from this entire trip to Napa! The tomato water did such an excellent job making the perfectly al dente pasta have a hint of interesting flavor and the perfectly pureed sauce was outstanding! It’s also a beautifully-plated dish!! Next up was another pasta dish, the Tagliarini Bolognese al Centro, which was a very hearty, rich dish packed with great, meaty flavors! The pasta was perfectly prepared and mixed in with the rich, meaty sauce! Finally, the main dish was their Pollo alla Diavola, which had excellent spice and perfect cooking temperature!! The white meat was moist and soaked in the flavor of the marinade nicely, but the dark meat was incredibly-marinated and tasty!!! I absolutely loved this preparation and the flavors!! I know it’s not the “thing” to do to order chicken at a nice restaurant, but in this case, Get The Chicken!!! For our final course, we ended with their affogato and their assortment of fresh-made gelato and both were nicely done. The pistachio gelato was excellent! Definitely highly suggest stopping in for dinner when visiting, this experience was outstanding!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful ambiance, some rough edges
The grounds and atmosphere of this restaurant were amazing - just beautiful. The food was delicious, and Jonathan our server was quite nice, but only fairly attentive. The only reason our visit was not 5 stars was the length of time it took to order - then the kitchen never received the order!! Good thing we were not in a hurry at all, a group of 7 great friends. BUT - over an hour after placing the order we knew something was up. They made up for their mistake with a couple bottles of wine and several appetizers to tide us over. That was appropriate. However any other group may have walked out much sooner. Overall the meal was very nice, and as I said, a beautiful location! P.S. Don’t take Trinity Rd as a short route from Sonoma! That was an experience for sure!

The restaurant was full, initially they seated us by a door way however when we asked to me moved they moved us to a better table. Service was very good, the food was good and the wine recommendation was amazing. We had a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyIt should have been 5 stars, but ….
I would have loved giving 5 stars, but … three things that pulls down to 3 stars. Firstly, when the very nice waiter wanted to start presenting the menu. I asked if he could come back in a few min, but he just continued. I had to interrupt and ask again “can you PLEASE come back in 2 minutes”. Please pay attention to your guests!! Secondly I have a severe allergy, no-one asked us if we had any allergies. This is very serious miss, and should be corrected. Thirdly - I think it is extremely unethical NOT to inform that the daily special risotto will be 100+% more expensive than the normal one in the menu. The normal risotto is prized to mid 20ies USD. We never got the price presented for the daily special. And got a shock when we saw the bill… 55USD for a Risotto . It should be a really good risotto to defend that price - but the thing is , my wife didn’t enjoy it either. Beside this, I liked the atmosphere, I enjoyed my dishes, and I had one of my best ice cream experiences when we had dessert . I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is truly beautiful. Seating and ambiance is comfortable yet elegant. We had an amazing short rib over polenta, a Faust Cabernet with a generous pour and THE MOST delicious fried puffed filled pastries with apple butter for dessert. This restaurant has earned it's reputation for a reason. Worth a visit!

The positive reviews are probably paid/fake ones. Food is not more than average and service is chaotic. We arrived at 11:55, had our orders made by 12:05. The server brought my appetizer but never brought my wife’s appetizer. At 12:40 we complained, told them to bring the main courses and 10 minutes later they told us the kitchen had also had problems with our main courses. We had arrived early and had planned to leave early for our tasting appointment but had this terrible lunch experience.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful cocktails & best pasta
We dined here for a special occasion and we’re seated in the outdoor dining area as requested. (Unfortunately there was a very large and loud party seated right next to us, we could hardly hear each other during the meal). The drink menu offered some interesting and beautifully presented cocktails. We tried a number of items from the menu, but the tomato water pasta was by far our favorite.
