Bracu is back!
Loved the new degustation menu. Great service and ambiance. Would rate 9/10. Bracu is back, as locals, we are delighted. Well done team.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food and Staff - hard to beat
This was our second visit in two months for lunch and both times we received brilliant service from the friendly staff in the restaurant and 100% enjoyed the food and wines on offer. A nice selection on the menu and some great tastes within each dish. On our second visit we had a couple of specific requests in advance and all went to plan as requested. So nice to experience quality and consistent service levels. We just wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

Bracu is our go to place for special occasions for years now, the food is always good, service on point. The only thing we were disappointed with this time, is we weren't warned how cold the wine room will be so we didn't dress accordingly, other than that we enjoyed the food & the service was excellent & friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed the degustation menu with wine pairing, during a very belated (thanks covid) anniversary escape. The food and service were faultless! The miso eggplant and barley broth (served with the pork belly) were the absolute standouts for us both. Incredible experience, thank you so much!

Lovely venue but the menu was terrible. The kids fish and chips was better than the entre and main, Didn't even attempt a desert as I had had enough of being disappointed. 100% would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyBracu - please make an amazing venue be fit to eat at
Bracu is no doubt a fabulous venue and should be a showcase destination NZ dining experience. However the food is a disaster. Granted the party was for around 120 people - why then would you choose to put on a menu that could only have been a disaster waiting to happen. I know Bracu focus is on Olive oil. Then why not lease out the restaurant side to someone who will give a damn. The other point is being ripped off for ordinary wines - I have paid thousands for a great Petrus and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - to pay 300 for something I saw in the market for 25 takes me for an absolute plonker. Come on NZ we need to do better. The days of get em in, rip em off and never see them again are over. This is truly an Emperor with no clothes.

Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable unobtrusive staff. Delicious meal. Every plate was wiped clean. And dessert was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal with visiting guest
We enjoyed another visit to Bracu and indulged in the degustation menu. The setting is beautiful and the food flavorsome with fabulous presentation. The fish was slightly strong for our taste but everything else was lovely. A special note has to be made about the waitresses. They were outstanding and went over and beyond to make sure our daughter enjoyed her meal by taking the time to distract her baby. So much appreciated and we will definitely return and recommend.

It was a mission getting here but we did stop by Karaka Doubletree for pre-dinner drinks. Being out in the wops this place is really serene and has a really beautiful sky full of stars. It wasn't too difficult to get to and there were plenty of parking outside the driveway. I had only been here for a wedding reception previously but this experience blew that out of the water. When looking through the menu there were too many things to choose from so we ended up going with the degustation to make the choice easier. The different dishes all had interesting and very tasty elements. The flavour on the miso eggplant was outstanding. The different dishes had their own profiles and they were able to accommodate a food allergy. It was a very pleasant evening with good company and really nice service and food. The truffled olive oil (that came with the bread) was so good I grabbed a bottle to take home. It is a really nice place for an event or a dining experience.

Decided to go to Bracu for a spontaneous lunch. Hadnโt been here for years. Absolutely fantastic lunch, presentation was perfect, cooking was perfect, service was perfect too!! Couldnโt fault it in anyway. And the ambiance is fantastic too, of course! A destination restaurant well worth the visit!

We broke our journey to feed our stomachs and Bracu fed our souls! Top notch service, divine food (fish of the day, complimentary samplers), in a lovely environment.

First of all I would like to recommend for you to please put the complimentary wontons on your menu, they were delicious!
Ok so now my actual review.... Bracu is set in a beautiful old villa which felt welcoming and warm upon entry, there are games outside on the grass area and a little lake at the bottom of some stairs.
To start we got complimentary bread with olive oil, olives, rock salt and butter. Also as mentioned above we got this delicious wonton which for me won the starters for the evening! We also ordered the spring rolls which were fresh and light and the couscous salad which was also fresh and light. Both were nice but couldnโt beat that wonton sorry.
Our mains, my partner got the pork belly which he found flavoursome and filling. For myself I got the beef and it just pulled away so easy with my fork and was absolutely delicious. All our food was well presented and we enjoyed our meals.
For dessert we decided to share the chocolate ganache, this was ok but probably not something Iโd order again personally for myself. Once again presentation was lovely.
We would definitely be back as the food was lovely, the surroundings are beautiful and I forgot to mention we had amazing service from the staff throughout our evening and couldnโt fault any of it. We left full and happy!
Very nice.
We had lunch and all of us enjoyed the food and the other add ons that came with it. It is nice to get stuff you weren't expecting.
Sitting on the verandah on a sunny day is a delightful experience and we really enjoyed the overall experience. We felt the staff numbers were just a bit less than necessary but in the end we left well fed and happy.
Degustation lunch
Went with my best friend to celebrate her 60th birthday. What an awesome place. We had the degustation menu without the wines as we had chosen a bottle that we both liked. As she doesnโt eat pork they asked us to choose a replacement. The service and food were fantastic. Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyVegan's not catered for
The ambiance of the restaurant can't be beaten and having eaten there many times before I love the surroundings and atmosphere. Being a vegan for the last 2 years I went there some 18 months ago and at that time had to pick sides in order to make up a vegan meal which was very poor then. Roll forward to last Saturday night and with 2 days warning that a vegan was in our group of 3, upon getting there there were no special choices for me only for a main taking ricotta out of the dish on the menu which basically left it with no taste. Bracu you tout your chefs as the best available well how about taking the Vegan sector which is growing at a fast rate globally seriously and when you get a vegan please use a bit of culinary flare to make something special which takes very little time to construct. I hope I won't be disappointed next time
Be the first to ReplyBracu offers exceptional dining experience
Had a lovely lunch with a few good friends to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary. Staff were attentive and unobtrusive in their professional service. Food was absolutely exquisite and delicious. All of us were amazed with the details and skills of the chef in creating the 3-course meals. The extra serving of warm bread and warm olives are enjoyed by everyone. In addition, the prompt response during inquiries and booking were impressive. Thanks Bracu for giving us a memorable experience.
Be the first to ReplyA very enjoyable dinner experience!
We were seated on the deck, with a lovely outlook through the olive trees; the food was superb, wines well matched to the degustation menu and the service we received was excellent.

Delightful meal. Prices appeared high but the we were given fresfhly baked bread herb butter and warmed olives the a delightful pumpkin soup in a glass. The tuna and veal entree was perfect. The pineapple dessert was just lovely. Will be back
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food with exceptional service
We had a dinner booked for 8 and were promptly seated out on the patio and given water and drink orders taken. Unfortunately there was a rather rowdy table of about 20 next to us so it was hard to hear eachother but the service the staff gave from here was above and beyond, they took or food order which they could hardly hear from us then they apologised for the noise and said they would move us, next thing weโre being moved to the private and luxurious โwine cellarโ dining room which were given complimentary. That was a huge wow already and then the food came out which was just amazing. We got a small pre-entree soup which was devine, I had the pork raviolli for entree which left beautiful flavours swimming in my mouth, followed by my main, the purple kumera gnocchi, which was just as tasty then to finish off a white chocolate panna cotta which was smooth as silk. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing. A huge thank you to them all for making our night truly special.
