Went to brunch here this past weekend and ordered the Moroccan Breakfast brunch dish. It was so delicious! Love the mix of veggies, potatoes and of course eggs with their special pepper and tomato sauce. I really savored every last bite and it kept me full for the day. Service was also great. Quick and they didn't push us out even though we spent over 2 hours chatting and enjoying our meal. The restaurant space is bigger than it looks on the outside. Love the aesthetic. Cute casual brunch spot! Will definitely be returning.

Very standard food, nothing particularly interesting about the cuisine. Flat place with mediocre food in the best location.
Be the first to ReplyFood is fantastic.
The only thing I don't like is that they don't have the falafel sandwich on the weekends! Whyyyyy!? But everything I've ever had here has been wonderful. Also, I wish they had more dessert options. Man cannot live on baklava alone....

We were in the city for my older daughter to meet up with her college roommate, the rest of our family needed some dinner without a reservation. We lucked out at around 6:45 on a Sunday and got a table for 3 immediately. Place was definitely full and diners were enjoying outdoor seating. All of the staff, from the hostess to the waitress and the gentlemen clearing the table etc were all friendly and professional. We had hummus, spicy carrots, and Greek salad for appetizers. The hummus is extremely high quality. The carrots spice level was ideal for me. (I top out somewhere between the high side of medium and the low side of hot) The Greek salad includes quality greens and delicious feta. I've been wanting to try bastilla for quite a while. Tonight was my night! What a delicious traditional dish, phyllo surrounding a flavorful chicken filling. My wife enjoyed her blackened chicken and smashed potatoes and my daughter enjoyed her chicken kebab. Portions were good but we made sure that there were no leftovers, great dinner. I enjoyed the mint lemonade with sparkling water and my wife enjoyed her rose. Cafe Mogador will be a go to place for us.
Be the first to ReplyThe service is great here.
The atmosphere is cozy just like any other NY resto. The FOOD is uncommonly and unexpectedly incredible here. The chicken chermoula tagine, the bastilla, the zaatar martini... absolutely unforgettable. Best Moroccan food I've had outside of Morocco. Every single day this food has been on my mind since the day I went. They should reccommend the chicken chermoula tagine more often.

2nd time here and not disappointed! Booked our party of 12 about a month ago. Our table was ready as soon as we got there. Lovely quiet corner of the restaurant. Excellent service and food was delicious.

The Tajines and Baklava are great! Lovely ambiance, pleasant service. Been coming for years.
Be the first to ReplyFun spot for a middle eastern breakfast.
The patio was lovely. We ordered the Country Breakfast, halloumi eggs, & Middle Eastern Breakfast. Add the house made merguez sausage
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely love this restaurant since day one.
The food is great, best falafel I've ever had. Drinks can be worked on especially the wine selection. Service and ambience are both good. I go to this location and Brooklyn location at least twice a month. I recommend this spot!

Strolled over and enjoyed brunch at Cafe Mogador on Saint Marks Place, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. We chose to sit outside under the cozy heat lamps, accompanied by our furry friend, a Pom, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. One of the standout dishes we tried was the Lamb Tagine with apricots and prunes on couscous. From the moment it arrived at our table, the aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. The lamb was incredibly tender and moist, practically falling off the bone, and it melted in our mouths with every bite. The combination of the succulent lamb with the sweet apricots and prunes, all nestled on a bed of fluffy couscous, created a symphony of flavors that left us wanting more. It was undoubtedly a mouthwatering experience. Another dish that impressed us was the Moroccan Benedict. This unique twist on a classic brunch favorite was a definite hit. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the tomato sauce had a delightful Moroccan flair. The dish was well-balanced and packed with delicious flavors that complemented each other beautifully. It was a true testament to the culinary expertise of Cafe Mogador. Furthermore, the attention to detail and commitment to quality at Cafe Mogador shone through in every aspect of our experience. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a refreshing and zesty accompaniment to our meal, and the selection of teas served was diverse and of the highest quality. Sitting in the outdoor seating area, we felt transported to an oasis of food paradise, surrounded by delectable dishes and a serene atmosphere. Cafe Mogador on Saint Marks Place is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable brunch experience. The Lamb Tagine and the Moroccan Benedict are both dishes that will leave your taste buds in awe. The combination of top-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and a tranquil setting make for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make sure to add Cafe Mogador to your list of culinary destinations.

I went to the Brooklyn location many years ago and vividly remember enjoying it. Happy to report they did not disappoint. This location has a very homey vibe. Went for dinner so it was dimly lit, very cozy and intimate. I had the chicken kebabs and was satisfied; meal was light but filling. Some may find it a little pricey but I think it's worth it. We ordered two desserts, the baklava and another that I can't remember. I want to say it was a citrus flourless cake that the sever suggested and it was surprisingly delicious. You can make reservations online but we were walk ins and luckily were able to be seated.

What an unexpected pleasure! Ambiance, great service and delicious food all in one place at a reasonable price. Don't miss it!

Food was overpriced and service was the slowest I've had in New York. Waiter did not take order for 25 minutes and brought out food over an hour later. The only thing worse than the food quality was the loud noise in the restaurant. I guess screaming children is encouraged here!
Be the first to ReplyCafe Mogador was my first venture into Moroccan cuisine,
Cafe Mogador was my first venture into Moroccan cuisine, and I was impressed by the variety on the menu. Opting for the Moroccan eggs, which featured poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce with merguez sausage, I found the dish flavorful, though the spiciness was milder than expected. The eggs were served with za'atar pita, which complemented the dish perfectly. My friend tried the chicken kebab, which was enjoyable, particularly with the rich cucumber yogurt adding a refreshing touch. However, my boyfriend's choice of couscous with butternut squash, carrots, zucchini, turnip, cabbage, chickpeas, caramelized onions, and chicken left something to be desired. The couscous was a bit dry, though it was my first time trying it, so I couldn't judge too harshly. The interior of the restaurant was charming with its cute decor, but unfortunately, the service felt somewhat standoffish. Despite ordering ahead of smaller parties, we noticed others received their food before us. Overall, while the experience had its ups and downs, the diverse menu and pleasant ambiance left me curious to explore more Moroccan cuisine in the future.

Best calamari I've had in a while! And the portions were the perfect size for all of us. The hummus and babaganoush were also so good. The ambiance was great but seating is a bit tight

Longtime NYC staple for Moroccan food, it's a solid fixture in the east village. Seating is kind of tight, but the ambience is pretty lively. Strongest point here is the food. Love the mixed grill and also the tagines. Couscous is cooked to perfection too. Cocktails are a little too pricey though. My one complaint is how 'over attentive' our waitress was - she was asking every 5 mins whether she could get us more stuff - which made it feel like we were either getting kicked out or being up sold.
Be the first to ReplyFood is extraordinary! My fave neighborhood place.
Their fish and vegetable tagines are the best!
Be the first to ReplyI missed going to this place the last three years.
I actually can't believe it's been three years. I am 67 years old now and time is zooming baby so make your way to Mogador and make hay while the sun shines and if you see me buy me a drink. I'll be eating the vegetarian dishes thank you very much . listening to royaljones on soundcloud.com for free

This place is worth a visit any and every chance you get! It's one of my best friend's go-to spots whenever they visit NYC. And it's become my favorite spot ever since. If you have time to read this place's story/history online, you'll fall in love with it even more! The ambiance inside is very chill for intimate moments either as a group or duo. I love the decor inside - it has a Moroccan feel but also with a modern twist. The lighting itself adds to the ambiance and sets the mood for any occasion. The service was great despite one server who seemed a little off. I didn't really pay attention to it but noticed it a few times but that didn't stop the great service we got overall. The food came out in an efficient manner. As for the food, I can go on and on about the dishes and wish I took better pictures of what we ordered but it was difficult with the lighting and I was just truly hungry. We ordered a variety of cocktails off their menu which were quite delicious and refreshing. I'm not into overly sweet drinks and Cafe Mogador offers drinks that are just right. I always do family style with my friends and we shared a variety of dishes - one of the Mezzes we got was the Tabouli which was refreshing with the cucumber yogurt. We also go the Moraccan Tagines with lamb shank and cous cous and this was just divine!
Be the first to ReplyBest chicken tagine I have ever had.
The appetizer of houlumi cheese was also very good as was the dessert. Henry our waiter was wonderful! We would definitely come here again next time we are in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyMy least favorite dish is the veggie cous cous.
To me, it is kinda bland, but I do like the touch of raisins - it really makes it better. I think you can order that with some meat instead of just vegetable only, or order something that has strong seasoning to eat with, like the lamb tagine in the picture. Everything else is delicious!
Be the first to Replyreally good.
a little over priced! sit in the back garden and it's super cute. the bread is rlly good
Be the first to ReplyThe service and the ambiance are really good.
However i was disappointed with the food in the east village location but loved it at the Williamsburg one. I won't be going back but would recommend trying the chicken bastilla if you're there. The lamb shank with couscous was very small and did not have enough meat to feel filled.
Be the first to ReplyNice Moroccan brunch spot with authentic vibes.
I ordered the Moroccan Tagine with couscous and chicken with stewed apricot and prunes sauce ($23). It was good but a bit small and plain. It was basically just a few pieces of chicken with some light sauce to go along with 2 prunes and 3 apricots and a side plate of couscous. The chicken was very tender and tasty though- I just wish there was more. Given the small portion size, this was probably not worth the price, but not too bad of a deal still given the quality. The restaurant itself has some character and authentic Moroccan family-style vibes with family photographs along the walls and some Moroccan decor. The place is decently sized and was busy on a Sunday afternoon, but we were able to get a table for 2 with no reservation or wait. There is a moderate noise level with all the customers in there. The staff were average friendliness and service speed was fine.Overall, I would give Cafe Mogador 3.5 stars if I could for good Moroccan food and nice atmosphere but just not the best value. That being said, given that there are not too many other good Moroccan places around, I will bump up this rating to 4 stars on a Yelp scale. If you're interested in trying out some Moroccan food in a nice environment, I still think Cafe Mogador is a pretty good option.
Be the first to ReplyI would give 5 stars for the food.
This place is a solid option for the food! I LOVE getting a mezze platter. I love eating mezze, I could have it for a meal. For my entree I got Chicken Tagine and it was fantastic. The chicken was so soft and tender. We had a long wait for our food. All of the tables around us for dinner before we did and then ordered after us. I am pretty sure they forgot about us. They took away the full sauces we paid for when they took our appetizer away from the table. They brought us a drink we didn't order. I'm hoping it was just an off night because this place was soooo delicious.
