Canoe Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Stunning food, service and ambiance.
Highly recommend for a celebration or business dinner. The servers present the dishes and provide a description of each.

We had such an incredible time during my first visit to Canoe! The restaurant not only offers the best view in Downtown Toronto, and the ambiance was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend going there with someone you love. We decided to try the Taste Canoe menu, every dish was beyond fantastic. The presentation was top-notch, and the flavors were incredibly tasty. If I had to choose a favorite, it would definitely be the Onion + Caviar. The chef used real onions, and it was simply amazing. You have to try it! Make sure to make a reservation in advance and request a window seat. It's the perfect spot to celebrate any occasion. Complimentary Parking after 5:30PM
Great place to host your wedding!
Canoe restaurant is one of the wedding venues that takes weddings to new heights – literally 54 floors above Toronto. Between breathtaking views, amazing sunsets and twinkling city lights, where earthy tones and modern romance intersect, this has to be one of the coolest places to host a modern wedding. As a wedding photographer I can highly recommend this place for weddings and other events.
Extremely poor value and lacklustre service.
You get tiny portions and the price is ridiculous. They couldn't even provide any desert for food intolerance. Way overhyped.
Way overrated and overpriced
Overpriced food with super small portions and the service was lack luster and didn’t even get a window seat and did nothing for a birthday. The prices are incredibly unreasonable and all they have is the view. Definitely recommend to avoid.
First off, the view is spectacular and worth going here
First off, the view is spectacular and worth going here regardless. The drinks are very solid, I got a Jack Daniels and Coke and it had a very generous pour of Jack Daniels. My first course was their take on a chicken wing. The dish was creative and super flavorful, although it could've been bigger. I then got the lamb saddle with the side of pasta. The lamb was super tender and perfectly cooked. The creamed kale was phenomenal, especially since I would usually never eat that. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but nothing to write home about. The service was very good. They do a fantastic job explaining exactly what your dish is when they present it. Overall, it's a bit pricey for the portions, but when you factor in the view and everything, it's worth it.
Hands down one of the best dinner experiences.
Had the tasting menu, worth more than the $180. The service was spot on, the views were amazing. I asked to be seated on the kitchen bar - absolutely elevated the experience one thousand fold. Felt as if we were amidst a well orchestrated orchestra of chefs, trying from every corners of the chefs imagination.
Enjoyable Evening
Were happy with the entire experience except we had to go at 5.30 to guarantee a window table. Not many vegetarian options...next to no side dishes. Server managed to get me a lunch cheese pasta dish with assorted greens that was delicious. Very good service. View was delightful!
Tried the Canoe tasting menu and I must say, they do not
Tried the Canoe tasting menu and I must say, they do not disappoint. The tasting menu consist of: smoked oyster (charred game, puffed rice) + nori grissini (foie gras) pumpkin soup (butternut velouté, sweet potato, anise) chicken wing (sunchoke, truffle, Albufera, ziti pasta, morels) lingcod (scallop, celeriac, charcoal, Champagne cream) 54-hour short rib (cheek pastrami, sweetbreads, caramelized mushroom, Café de Paris butter) chanterelle (birch syrup, sea buckhorn) pear dessert (sortilège, hazelnuts, sumac) petit four My favourite dish would have to be the chicken wings. The sunchoke made the dish slightly sweet and made the dish sweet and savoury. Everything tasted delicious and although not everything was to my taste, I still recommend giving this place a try as the chefs definitely put in the time and effort in these dishes.

Canoe on the 54th floor of the Toronto-Dominion Centre is a true culinary masterpiece. From the stunning skyline views to the impeccable service, every detail is perfection. The Bison Tartare was a delight, with roasted bison, charred spring onion, pickled ramps, and a heavenly foie gras parfait. The Surf + Turf, featuring Atlantic lobster and aged Albertan filet, was a symphony of flavors, enhanced by lardo, chanterelle, and spruce tip butter. The Canadian opera cake for dessert was a sweet revelation, blending chaga, birch syrup, and sea lettuce into a delicious finale!

George and Michael both made for a truly magical evening for us. The food and wine selections were on point. Ingredients, presentation, flavours were all on point. A truly memorable dining experience!!
Came here for dinner for the first time.
Food was okay but every dish was plated beautifully. Surprisingly the highlight from our dinner was actually the desserts. Service was also very good and the view was pretty nice was well.

The food is always top notch with fresh ingredients and creative ideas It's ideal for an elevated lunch or special event dinner The service is always tentative & you just can't say no to good food AND a great city view Try your best to book a window seat and thank me layer :)
Food flavor, venue and service outstanding.
Love high up city view restaurants. Very unique concoctions and everything was delicious. Got the "Ontario Pork Jowel" wife got the halibut. Serious one star penalty for the almost pretentiously SMALL PORTIONS. Do NOT order wine by the glass- you get a big shiny glass goblet with a thin film of wine at the bottom (?!) Cheapskates. Prices high but not over-the-top. Caution- Even after five courses you may leave hungry....
Exceptional all Around!
Dining at Canoe has been a bucket list item for me and my wife and I finally had the opportunity while visiting Toronto. The experience certainly lived up to expectations! First of all, the location and ambiance is impressive. On the 54th floor overlooking downtown Toronto. All tables have a sensational view. The atmosphere is lively but not loud. It was easy to have a conversation while enjoying the meal. The menu is small however has something for everyone. The onion soup (served in an onion!) was an unexpected highlight. My wife had the halibut which was sensational and my pork three ways was well done and had many flavours. The plating and attention to detail is impressive and service but everyone too notch. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine and service meticulous. Price is what to be expected by a 5 star restaurant but I didn't think outrageous by any means. Especially when you consider dining at Canoe as an experience Vs just a meal. So pleased that I finally had the chance to experience Canoe. I will be sure to pick another special occasion to do it again.
There's No Place Like Home for the World's Best Dinner!
While most reviews will share the outstanding views, what impressed us most was the attention to every detail given to each part of our Chef's Table Experience! Chef Ron entertained our questions, the staff described each dish with ease and pride; the food rivals any of the world's best restaurants! While this was our 25th anniversary dinner, we soon realized that this experience should not be reserved for celebrations as it is an experience to be shared for its own sake. Thank you Chef and staff for making our evening so very special! We've already planned for our return! Bravo! Kristan and Jennifer Straub
Extraordinary experience!
Dining at Canoe in Toronto was a culinary journey that celebrated Canadian cuisine and the art of fine dining. The restaurant’s location on the 54th floor offered breathtaking views of the city skyline and Lake Ontario, setting the stage for an exceptional meal. The menu was a tribute to local ingredients and creative combinations, highlighting the diversity of Canadian flavors. The tasting menu was an exploration of innovative dishes and exquisite presentations. The staff’s deep knowledge of the menu and their dedication to providing impeccable service made the dining experience truly exceptional. Pairing the dishes with selections from the extensive wine list added to the overall enjoyment. Canoe is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Canada’s culinary heritage and a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience in Toronto.
Perfect place for a grand dinner with a view!
This is an upscale restaurant with a great view and an interesting menu of modern international character with some Canadian twist (local game and fish). As a foreigner, one might have liked even more of these Canadian ingredients, but as it is, the cuisine is near perfect. So was the wine that came with the tasting menu (there were two choices accompanying the tasting menu, at 100 or 200 CAD, we chose the first option): international (some Canadian wine, too), and some combinations were remarkable (all were really convincing). Service is formal, but with a personal touch (never too much: the perfect balance). One smaller slip (one white wine not cold enough; however, it was so good it could stand up to that) was immediately and gracefully acknowledged. The charm (and competence, especially with the wine: there was no separate sommelier) of our waiter significantly added to the experience - which has its price, but is worth it. Plus: splendid view!
Culinary experience to try at least once in our life!
We specifically went to the Canoe restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I had booked a month in advance and had specified this event. When I arrived, a superb table on the edge of the window and a small sign on the table celebrating my birthday. Small details that make all the difference. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Superb pairings and great discoveries of world wines. I recommend. Don't expect large portions, but the research and flavors behind each dish is extraordinary. This is what we are looking for in these menu choices. Small disappointment: It is not our server who takes our orders who comes to serve and explain the dishes, but young servers who recite the explanations received in a telegraphed manner. Everything should be run by the same server. Disappointing for this style of restaurant... But what about the view, which alone is worth the trip. I recommend this restaurant at least once in my life!
Give Canoe a pass
Very disappointing lunch with family. Service was good BUT most of the food was mediocre if not poor. Overcooked dried out halibut and tough strip steak. Very unusual sides. A table of 5 people only received a basket with four slices of bread. Very little ambience…large round table with no placemats, tablecloth or flowers. Luckily it was a sunny day and the view was spectacular. Much more is expected from a Bonacini restaurant with those prices.
Wonderful dining experience at The Canoe restaurant
My wife and I had dinner because we heard that The Canoe was a great restaurant. We loved our dining experience. My wife had a steak and I had a dish, sorry, forgot the name of it, may have been a pork dish. The food was phenomenal. The fries were the best we have ever had. The server assistant, Vignesh, suggested a seasonal dessert and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. The view was unbelieveable. Atop the TD Tower, we could see the islands, Lake Ontario and more. We were so impressed with the service, in particular Vignesh. He welcomed us with a smile and warm greeting. He had great knowledge of the menu and helped us to make choices. He is a great asset to the Canoe. We highly recommend this restaurant.

How do you set a timeline for getting your bid accepted? I can’t wait till the actual time I want to go. I want to know at least eight hours ahead of time. How do you do that?
