Catch LA West Hollywood Reviews
I love this place.
Last visited to continue celebrating my birthday. Staff was attentive and friendly. The table and chair I sat in was very small. If you can, try calling ahead and seeing if you can be seating within one of the garden tables. Drinks were amazing and low lighting was stunning. I ordered the Miso Glazed Seabass which was a 10/10! The Branzino was also really good 8/10. Mashed potatoes were as described SIMPLE! I did ask for steak toppers for the mash, and it came out great! Enjoy!
The service is incredible here I just went for my birthday.
They are so helpful because I am vegan and gluten free and they have so many options to choose from. I absolutely am in love with the spicy tempura cauliflower. And the ambience is seriously next level. For the decent price of the dishes the atmosphere is very expensive and covered in flowers. Excellent place for a date or celebration 10/10

we came here for a special occasion and had some of the worst service we've ever experienced and we eat out a lot. Our server (name started with R, Rome?) ignored our table for long stretches, walked past us multiple times without an acknowledgement, made a snarky comment when he finally showed up to greet us, and offered zero help with dietary restrictions. When we asked about an ingredient in a roll because we wanted to make sure vegan before eating, he admitted he didn't know, walked away, and *never came back with an answer, so we too off and didn't eat it. He never checked on our food, walked past us multiple times with empty dirty plates on our table, and gave full attention to the table right next to us while avoiding ours entirely. It takes 2 seconds to look over and ask if we are doing okay. I tried to be very graceful and understanding but it got to a point it felt racially charged. Another server, Alan(?), ended up stepping in to help us for a brief moment and was the only positive about the service entire night. The food was good, but the service was so dismissive it unfortunately tarnished the experience. We ended up asking for our food to-go instead of finishing our dinner there. Which says volumes about how uncomfortable it was. For a place where you can easily spend hundreds of dollars, it's extra isunacceptable. Management clearly needs to address the repeated service complaints.
Came here for a friend's birthday.
Service was perfect and food was even better. The flower decor is beautiful as you walk in. We had a table outside with a view. The Chef really did his thing that night. We did the taster on the menu where u try a variety of different food. It was worth it.
My god, could the hostesses and wait staff be more snooty
My god, could the hostesses and wait staff be more snooty and full of themselves??!! JFC it's a restaurant. And the food is overblown and meh.
Poor service
Poor service - drinks didnโt arrive until after the starter and having been chased. Main arrived whilst starters still begin eaten. The wrong pasta was served entirely - only became clear at end of meal when the bill was questioned. It turned out the wrong order had been taken. Waiter then tried to blame the kitchen/ others ? I canโt comprehend how service like this then also requests tip. Shambles, wonโt be returning.
Food service ambiance all receive an A++.
Seafood, sushi and steak- what is not to love?! Service was impeccable and the vibe WAS THERE. Very busy, so definitely recommend a reservation. ** Must order ** - catch roll - hell fire roll - surf and turf roll - steak fried rice ADD lobster- do not forget the LOBSTER, to die for!! Yumm - wagyu potsticker - crispy shrimp - gigli pasta - baked king hand-roll - steak of some type - donut things for dessert Honestly, everything was so delicious. Every time I come, it's delicious and always consistent. They have one in NY too

Sadly, very mediocre food :( The ambience is beautiful, I just cannot fathom craving eating here again or recommending this place to a friend without warning them the food isn't that good. Lobster Mac n' Cheese (2/5) -- just overall unremarkable, I can't remember what it tasted like but I am a mac n' cheese fiend and remember taking a few bites before putting my spoon down for the rest of the night. Shrimp (5/5) -- This was actually very delicious and the only dish I loved here! Perfectly cooked & flavored shrimp. Sushi (2/5) -- Can get sushi this quality at any local sushi restaurant or grocery store. Crispy Tuna Rice (1/5) -- WAY too much rice. Terrible rice to fish ratio, felt like I was eating an onigiri. Donut Carnival Wheel (2/5) -- it is such a cute concept and I loved how it was interactive, but the lack of creativity in flavor is laughable. It is just donut holes with chocolate, cream, and raspberry sauce in bottles for you to inject into the holes. Overall, I would only go here for the ambience. The food is nothing special.
My favourite sushi restaurant in LA.
Anything on the menu with truffle is stellar! Ambiance is always on point.
Awful
Worst restaurant I have visited after a month in LA. Stuck in 1995. Food was average but ambience terrible. Toilets flooded none of the staff cared. Hostess too busy trying to become a catwalk model. So may better places in the area

Decided to eat here on the recommendation of a local and so glad I did. The place is upscale yet casual and the rooftop ambiance is awesome. The service is great and the food had great taste, flavor and had nice presentation. I mistakenly made my reservation the wrong day but the bouncer/door gentleman allowed me to go up and have dinner at the bar which turned out to be a great as the bartenders were amazing! Shout out to Natalie who went above and beyond and had great service the entire night. She was welcoming and helpful throughout the entire dinner. I had the miso glazed sea bass and that was delish! It was different than what the way I have had sea bass in the past and was very tasty! Sorbet at the end of the meal for dessert was also delicious and completed the dinner well. I will certainly be back!
TOO cold inside
good food, very nice location but not in the right conditions for a dinner. Inside the place it was less than 63 degrees, air conditioning at maximum. when I asked to be able to dine outside because inside it was definitely too cold he said no, even though the tables outside remained almost all empty for the rest of the evening. I ate quickly just to get out of that freezing environment. (outside it was 70 degrees, not 120). A good place must not only be beautiful, but put you in the perfect conditions to eat well in comfort.
Popular spot for the ambiance and decor
Came to Catch with my parents and being that theyโre living their best boujee lives, we opted for the tasting menu ($115/pp). The one for two people can accommodate three people. Credit cards and reservations accepted. Iโd recommend dressing cute to take advantage of the floral decor you see prior to entering the restaurant (note that itโs on the third floor). Valet parking available or you can park in the public garage next door as well. The tasting menu was a nice way to try all of the highlights, and quite tasty. We got the following: - Edamame - generous portion and a healthy start to a truffle-heavy dinner - Pretzel Bread - the bread was warm and the whipped butter went very well with it - Baby Gem Caesar Salad - a bit too heavy on the dressing but I did like how it included avocado - Truffle sashimi - very tasty; the fish melted in our mouths and the sauce was super tasty. This came with 6 pieces. - Catch roll - a signature restaurant dish. This came in a serving of 5 and has a miso-honey sauce that I really liked (although you can still dip it in the soy sauce and wasabi, and theyโll complement each other) - 2 oz of Japanese A5 Wagyu - this comes when the tasting menu is accommodated for 3 people โto make things fairโ in the words of our waitress. It was a cool experience where we got to cook our own slice of meat on a hot slab. You can decide how well you want it cooked and can add green onions/mushrooms along side the meat. - Truffle butter filet - this is shared piece of meat, so everyone has to agree on how well itโs cooked. This was a tad on the heavy side due to the sauce but it makes sense how rich it is given the name - Truffle mushroom spaghetti - I liked this a lot; the pasta was soft and well mixed with the truffle sauce - Parmesan truffle fries - very crispy and a generous portion; a great dish to share even if youโre not doing the tasting menu - โHit Meโ Chocolate Cake - this was a fun dish since they drizzle chocolate on top, and itโs their version of a Klondike bar, but with a brownie and salted caramel sauce. Itโs good for chocolate lovers.
Put this one on the bucket list!
Beautiful and elegant dining. The food was simply amazing! Celebrating with my son and the experience was so enjoyable. Mushroom spaghetti and Wagyu fried rice as must haves! I can't wait to come back next visit to LA!
Classic and casual elegance
We had to go to the Polo Lounge and it lived up to the history and the hype! We ate at the Bar because it was closed only to guests of the Hotel but we had great and attentive service. The cocktails and Wine selection are very extensive and perfect!! The gin and tonic and the Mezcal cocktails were so good. My wife had the melon salad which was really good and I had the Chicken Parmesan with Angel Hair pasta and it was amazing! Pasta was some of the best I have had
I wasn't expecting much based on the hype, but the mushroom
I wasn't expecting much based on the hype, but the mushroom spaghetti was really good and I loved the sauce on the sea bass. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful as well. I wouldn't order the Bao buns, but their sushi was also top tier
My daughter celebrated her birthday there and experienced
My daughter celebrated her birthday there and experienced the worst service ever and the food was terrible. The waitress ignored the girls and was extremely rude to them, it took 30 minutes for the check to come. I'm so disappointed and hurt for my daughter who just wanted to enjoy a nice birthday night with her friends. I hope someone from the restaurant will look into this and get back to me. Save your time and money.
10/10 Love the ambience, vibe and food.
Great service and outstanding dishes. The food is always consistent and well plated!

Catch LA is nothing short of an extraordinary culinary
Catch LA is nothing short of an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complements the exquisite food. Each dish is a masterpiece, truly incomparable to anything else in the city. The seafood is fresh and beautifully presented, showcasing innovative flavors that leave a lasting impression.
Pure influencer bait.
Average bistro fare priced to impress in a chaotic setting amid harried service. Came as a party, dropped a mortgage payment on a family style meal of overly sauced and salted dishes that included woody artichokes and fibrous snap peas. Branzino was good but no better than anywhere else doing branzino. Points for kind waitstaff, negative points for getting constantly moved along by overbearing security dudes.
Okay. What is going on with Catch LA? When we first started
Okay. What is going on with Catch LA? When we first started going in 2016, the service was excellent and the food and drinks were delicious. It was a little sceney for me but I get it. It's in WeHo, it's beautiful and these are the days of Instagram. After that it has always been good. Until 6 months ago. It was...okay. Then we went today. It was a last minute thought but we managed to get reservations. Which for Sunday brunch is usually very hard. Doorman was very nice and friendly as usual. Then as soon as we stepped off the elevator (restaurant is on rooftop), I noticed the balcony leading up to the hostess desk, that usually is so pretty with flowers and greenery all over, looked a little rundown and unkept. Koi pond didn't have koi anymore. The host was a bit uppity. I've always thought for as sceney as Catch is the host and servers were always extremely nice and friendly. Not today. Our sever was the worst. I really wanted to leave him only 10% tip but I know times are tough so I didn't do that. I noticed the outdoor seating was not being used and the inside dining room looked a bit run down too. Then the food and drinks. Not so good anymore. Especially for the price which has probably increased. Also valet parking was $20. No validation. All these little things add up to a big let down. The people watching wasn't even fun anymore. That's the nicest way I can put it. Is Catch under new ownership? Are they expanding too much? Did LA find newer hot spots? Or is it a sad case of hard times and survival mode. If it's the latter, the service should at least still be good. I don't know. I used to love bringing my daughters here, and all of us were disappointed.

I'll be honest, I went here for the vibes and cocktails and didn't anticipate the food being much of anything but wow was I wrong! We loved pretty much everything we tried. The rainbow sashimi pizza was so unique and outstanding! I could have eaten ten of those. The wagyu surf and turf roll was soooo good! We another roll that was fresh, the lobster mac and cheese which was very rich but delicious, and then the quintessential hit me cake. The cake was more about the spectecale than taste but that's the only thing I'd skip next time. Our service was very good. Sometimes he was a bit scarce but it was very crowded and he paced us well with courses.
The restaurant was so pretty but with all pretty and
The restaurant was so pretty but with all pretty and aesthetically pleasing restaurants usually the food does not match up. This place is pretty expensive for the tiny portions but the food isn't bad it's just mediocre. We got the lobster mac n cheese and a roll and we were not full at all. I feel like this is a place you should visit once to take photos it's definitely really cute but would not come back again. The servers were very kind tho.
We got the tasting menu and loved it.
Favorites include the edamame, the crispy shrimp, the pretzel roles, the salad, the sushi, and the fried rice. The only dish that wasn't loved was the sorbet. Ambience is top notch and can't be beat. Service was excellent and friendly.
Good but posh rooftop restaurant and bar
Very nice top floor restaurant and bar. The small dishes and cocktails were excellent - yet very pricey. On the other hand, the people at the entrance made us feel like we had to be extra grateful that we were allowed in. That's something I never liked.
Fabulous dinner place
Our food was absolutely delicious, loved the ambiance - it being a warm day& evening made the open ceiling atmosphere spectacular. And our waiter Tapley made our evening. We felt absolutely pamperedโ by him in the best possible way. He made us want to go there again!!! Perfect attentive helpful joyful service.
My parter cut his foot and had to wear flip flops.
They would not let us in despite the fact that my brother was already at the table. There was nothing on their website about flip flops or open toe shoes not being allowed. I would expect this strict dress code adherence in New York, not Los Angeles one of the most laid back cities on the planet.
Great food , nice atmosphere
Great food, amazing service, nice atmosphere Our waiter was really helpful with the menu, very attentive One plate delayed ( chef was not happy with the result so had to make it again) and they offered us another for free. At the end I ordered a grey goose which was also offerd for free Truly recommended

Dinner here Saturday night with a girlfriend and had a good time. We split the Caesar salad, and I had the scallops and cauliflower. Both were delicious. Beautiful restaurant, but disappointed with where we were seated. At first they tried to put us outside, but they had the flaps down so I didn't want to be next to a white tarp, and asked to be sat inside. Instead of sitting us in the main dining room, we were sat in the side room next to the kitchen, which was extremely annoying as my chair kept being bumped by the staff. Our reservation was at 6:30, so it's not like it was late. There were tables available in the main dining area. Therefore, they get a lower rating.
The food was just good, nothing really special about it.
The service was good as well. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The atmosphere was trendy and cute.

Taylor is the best host! She was so welcoming and accommodating. Not only was the service great but the food was excellent. I loved the Catch roll and filet skewers. The pretzel bread is also bomb and the drinks are always on point. Great experience 10/10. Love Catch La!

The ambience in Kallay is top-tier if you want a relaxed vibe with great plants and lighting. This is the place to be. The food was immaculate the serving size a little small I would definitely say order a few things that you and a partner or friends could all just eat off together. The macaroni lobster and the brussels sprouts were my favorite so delicious. They do have valet parking, but you can do your own self park on the street somewhere. Hopefully there's not a lot of events going on the area. Otherwise you can find parking on the street.
So amazing every single time.
I went for my birthday dinner last year and they made it super special, a great place to catch up with friends and eat great food!! The ambiance is unmatched, quintessential LA.
The food was very good, all fish is fresh taste.
The only issue was the service, a bit slow and got 1 wrong dish that we didn't order. I do recommend going there but maybe not on their busy days.
Great date night with friends.
Very upscale restaurant. Great for couples or groups. Make sure to make reservations in advance. This is a family style dining. We started the night with the crispy shrimp, very flavorful and left your mouth watering for more. We then had the scallop gnocchi. Now I'm not a big fan of scallops but I will admit it was a good dish. For our main course we ordered the 36 Oz porterhouse steak and Brussel sprouts. This was such a tender cut of beef, seasoned well. The Brussel sprouts were so amazing, I am still craving them a week later. Those are a must get. Will definitely be back soon.
Great service great food Great ambience overall, great
Great service great food Great ambience overall, great overall highly recommended for the food and for everything
The coolest spot in LA. Amazing sushi. Filled with cool A-list people
The coolest spot right now on the LA scene and one of the most sought after places to dine. A definite A-list joint thatโs filled with pretty people where youโll be sure to spot a celebrity! The sushi is amazing as are the Filet Beef Sticks. The location is amazing perched high. The service is efficient and attentive. The prices are on the high side but the experience is priceless. A booking is essential as wait times for walk-in is long. Youโll thank me later as we had the most amazing time and enjoyed their signature cocktails served by their superb mixologists. Donโt miss out.
โManager is too busy for youโ
Didn't honor my reservation because I was one literal minute over the reserved time. I've visited many times and this issue has become worse with time. I don't understand why they accept reservations in Opentable at 10pm if they expect you to be there way before then (multiple SMS reminders at 9:20 telling me my table was ready). After driving an hour to get there the security person who told us his name was Hugo (and had zero customer service skills) rudely refused to let us even take the elevator to negotiate or explain something. We asked for a supervisor and after waiting in that lobby for 20min he said "Tim" (the manager) was "too busy to even hear your complain" and escorted us out. Never again. What a shame all the recommendations and money Ive spent there. They have too much money to care about yours!
Over rated, terrible
It took 45 minutes to take the order, than more 35 to get the main dish. 6 steaks. All medium rare. One was as requested. Wine? Drinks? We tried to order, final it arrivedโฆ Experience? Terrible, horrible. Loud, bad service, dirt toilets.
Worst service aver
Rudest service ever. After just a few minutes waiting, one of the girls took us to a table and gave us the menus. We didnโt even have the time to look at the menu and another very rude waitress came asking โwho sat you here?โ and made us leave, not even saying sorry, to let another couple sit. The first girl came back and gave us another table, in fact in a crowder area. She was all sorry, but nothing more. They made a mistake but really did nothing to make up for it. The problem is not the misake itself, but in the really rude and grumpy ways of the waitress, as she turned to us as if we decided to sit there by ourselves. After that we waited for a long time to order and to receive the cocktails (20minutes) and the food. We took five dishes in total, they were supposed to come all together but we waited a whole hour to receive the wagyu gyoza. I must say the whole dinner experience was ruined by the horrible ways of the waitress and the lack of real attention from the other members of the staff. The food was really good, though.
Perfect birthday meal
Perfection. We had the fillet steak and shrimp to start. Staff were really inviting & the atmosphere was unbeatable. Food was served efficiently, but felt under no pressure to eat and vacate table
Donโt bother!
Chose Catch to celebrate my birthday. Had 7:30 reservation on Sunday night. Party of 5. Weren't seated until 8:20. Was told we'd get an appetizer for the wait. Not offered the appetizer when we were seated. Had to ask. Were told all our food wouldn't come out at the same time? WTH? Two plates came out at a time. Last plate came out when we were all finished except one. Management wouldn't allow a birthday cake or FLOWERS (a gift) to be brought up to our table. RIDICULOUS! Just horrible
We love Catch!
We have loved Catch LA for years. Just going into the building, you feel special, as they check your reservation before you get onto the elevator. Then, at the top of the elevator...the entrance to the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking! A lovely greenhouse feel...without the steamy heat. Every time we go, we are greeted warmly by the hostesses and shown to our table promptly. This time, we had a great table from which we could see everyone coming in...fun people-watching. While we were ordering, they opened the ceiling above us, which was fascinating to watch! Everything on the menu is delicious, and the service is always great. Kudos to Luke for offering us great service while we were there this time! The great food, great service, and fantastic atmosphere make it an awesome place to dine! We love Catch LA!
Poor Customer Service
My choice for my Father's Day dinner with my family was Catch LA. It was my first time dining there. The restaurant had a peaceful atmosphere, good service, but the food we thought would be better but it was ok. The surprise to me was when the waiter reached for my appetizer dish an entire glass of water spilled all over me that caused a seen cleaning as employees rushed to help dry up the water. We assumed the gentleman wearing the light green glasses was the manager or someone who was in charge of the restaurant as he constantly walked around the restaurant checking things out. To our amazement not one Host, maรฎtre d' or manager from the restaurant came to our table to apologize or to ask if everything was ok. In every restaurant when u see something like this happens someone from the restaurant "ALWAYS approach and speak to the guest. To make matters worse while we're eating our dessert the waiter brings over cookies saying they were compliments of the restaurant for the water that was spilled on me. NOT A GOOD LOOK. That was our first and last time dinning there.
What's the BIG DEAL??I can honestly say, seconds after
What's the BIG DEAL??I can honestly say, seconds after getting off the rooftop elevator, I knew it would be my new favorite spot. The ceiling decor, the dark wood, the VIEWS. This place truly was, a Catch.
The food and service was great.
A bit pricy but that comes with the overall experience. They would have gotten 5 stars if the tables weren't so close together. I was basically shoulder to shoulder with the people at the table next to me.
The food here at Catch LA was really the only thing that
The food here at Catch LA was really the only thing that saved us and even then it wasn't that great. Our server seemed like he didn't care to be there, we asked him questions about the food and he couldn't answer any of them with confidence. He told us that he needed to take our full order to be able to course it out correctly. None of our food hit the table at the same time. In between our appetizer and our main course our table was cleared. He brought 2/4 of our members chop sticks and never returned. My friends didn't realize that their food was an appetizer potion so when they got their "main" it took them about five minutes to finish. My entree arrived about ten minutes after the first person got there food and I sat without silverware until I decided to just take them off the table next to us. None of us got to eat our main course together. I think the server was a lot to blame here with his lack of knowledge, and inability to do his job correctly. Very disappointed with this restaurant and probably will never return. For the amount of money you'll spend here please go somewhere where you'll be valued as a paying customer.
