Nice ambiance and setting, though tight quarters in terms
Nice ambiance and setting, though tight quarters in terms of space for a group event. Bar was nice and inviting. Group had a fixed menu, but my selected items were bland. Caesar salad, salmon on brocollini, and raspberry cheesecake. Nothing stellar in flavor, or even presentation. The other dishes looked no better. Food was okay, setting nice. Would visit again for lunch.

3 stars because you should be very careful that they don't sneak in extra charges to your bill. Two recent visits: 1- I was there for a happy hour, my happy hour drinks were charged with a small discount vs. What they should have charged based on the menu. The server quickly fixed it. 2- I was there for brunch today. I asked if they had turkey sausage and they had turkey bacon. I had that and I was not told that was extra...it was a replacement. When I asked, they took the charge off. Be careful and check what they charge to avoid extras "sneaked in". This maybe their 2024 approach as these two happened within a week.

The ambiance is a 10! Such a beautiful restaurant. I love the cocktails you can tell they take they're time to make the cocktail so delicious. The food is also always great.
Be the first to ReplyCute place.
Cozy. Food was solid. The lemon vinaigrette on salad was so good. It's the trendy kind of place with small tables and basically on top of each other. Drives me nuts as that's fine for Manhattan. Bathroom was modern, clean. Music is insanely loud. That was a huge turn off as people are on dates, meeting up with old friends. Website says parking is complimentary and there's a lot on the behind the restaurant. Banner says "Charley " but I missed it. And not sure how it's paid for. Like if Charley validates a ticket. Maybe another had it and I haven't read reviews.

This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and the food and drinks are 5 stars. It is a hidden gem in the area. There is parking located in the apartment complex and once you go in this chic and beautiful dining space has the best drinks and food! I got a bunch of apps and dessert and everything was so so good. The service is also fab. I have not been here yet for brunch but it is on my places - I will be back and highly recommend you check this place out as well!
Be the first to ReplyIdk who they are paying to leave these high score reviews.
Maybe because the vibe is nice and the drinks are decent, but the food is such low quality and what you pay for it is ridiculous. When you feel like you can cook better than the chef, there is a problem. When you see multiple people send food back that is also a PROBLEM. The quality is just plain BAD and also the menu is plain generic and uninteresting. Nothing on the menu makes this place unique and their famous "Burger" is so bad that I recommend just going to Five guys down the block and heavily dislike Five Guys. Don't fall for this trap for any food. You want drinks and a place to chat? It's a good spot, DO NOT PAY FOR FOOD HERE

Love the bar area and chic look! Food was average. I would go back though because it's close by and service is great. Interior makes me happy! Good coffee too!

A few tables were filled when I got there. They have a great vibe in here and the decor was awesome. Halloween decor as well. Our waiter Santy was great and patient with us with our questions and subs. Loved my bowl. My friend tried a raspberry Bellini and she loved that. We didn't really love our espresso based drinks or dessert but will note for next time. This area is definitely up and coming so I'm sure we will be back. Definitely a spot to try out!

We went for an 11:30am brunch. We ordered 2 bloody mary (1 regular, 1 spicy), 1 mimosa, french toast, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, rainbow salad with salmon and breakfast bowl. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, although we sat inside. The highlight of our visit was Sam. I had read so many reviews raving about his service, so as soon as we walked in, I asked for Sam. And none of the reviews were lying! Sam is the BEST!!! He made great food recommendations since we were torn about a couple of things. We never had to ask for anything since he stopped by to check on us at just the right time. I hope we get Sam again the next time we come. This place is a 5/5 for me and I'm very hard to please. I highly suggest making reservations. Although we arrived a little before our 11:30am reservation time and were the 1st ones there, the place got packed very quickly, both inside and out.

Food, vibe, music here are AEWSOME! Especially their cocktail! Their crew is nice, chill and friendly. Especially Sashi( hope I spelling right) she is really nice. Her hospitality attitude def. Make us feeling warm. Will recommend to friends and neighbors.

Very welcoming and the decor is gorgeous.

Came here before heading to the Red Bulls Arena, we ordered the spicy margarita, the ceaser salad and the Charley Burger. The burger and fries felt like they were missing some flavor both average. The bun was rather dry. The margarita was delicious and not too spicy once the ice started melting. The vibe was interesting with the old school posters wrapped around the wall where we ate. Service was efficient and our server was very attentive

Went on a weekend and didn't expect too much because of the reviews, people are crazy. LolMy boyfriend and I had the best time! Everyone that works there is so nice. Every drink we had was so yummy. The bartender, Alinie , makes THE BEST drinks. (Hope I spelled that right ) We got the crab tots, a flat bread, and the shared the chicken. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is so cute. We loved it so much we went back the next day for brunch, and we were thrilled the same bartender was there. She is fabulous!
Be the first to ReplySo this is my first two star review and non recommendation.
My friend and I got a bunch of bar food that quite honestly looked and tasted like we could easily make this at home. The smoked salmon bites looks like they were on lays potato chips. The pretzel was the size of my palm, however on their website is shows this huge board of pretzels and dips that go with the pretzel and I didn't receive that. They were out of a lot of the dishes that we wanted, not sure if this is a usual. This pricing for what we received was higher than what it should have been considering what we were handed. . The cocktails we did get are good. The ambiance and aesthetic is beautiful. As much as I love the ambiance, I'm here for food and I was honestly very disappointed.

Very excited and made a little destination of it. First off, my party and I tried to come for happy hour which was listed on the website as 3-7. We got there at 6:15 only to be told that the happy hour isn't available, with no remorse despite their website and messaging pushing this timing. Waiters were attentive almost to the point of pushy but everything came out very quickly. They also cleared our plates still with food on them, which was annoying. Wine pours were weak and portions left something to be desired. They don't seem to be aware of sides. The salmon was cooked to perfection but came with a small pile of spinach and little else. Just finished eating at a second establishment because I was left with a little disappointment. Not worth going out of your way for.

Definitely not what I expected! A great new place with even better service and food. Loved the decor. Service was prompt and friendly. Cocktails were balanced and delicious. Flatbread was great for sharing. Food is authentic with a twist. Artichokes were a surprise winner. Will definitely be back. Hopefully can get 5 stars on our next visit

This is definitely a new favorite local date night spot for my husband and me. We have eaten here twice and each time we were blown away by how delicious the food was. I'd describe it as modern Austrian/German fare; it's elegant without being pretentious and very fairly priced. We have tried the charcuterie board, salmon, cheeseburger and steak schnitzel so far. Everything from the French fries to the drinks (try the Froze - you will be glad you did) were superb. Don't forget to save room for dessert! It's truly a hidden gem - highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyIf you're looking for a "best kept secret" in the Harrison
If you're looking for a "best kept secret" in the Harrison area...this is it. Not too crowded, the patio set up is a whole viiiibe...I felt like I was in the Caribbean. Parking is horrendous in this area so if you can opt for walking or Uber. The drinks *chefs kiss* I had a Manhattan (best I've had in Jersey) and I also had a cocktail from their menu which was great. If you get their fries opt for the aioli dip. The salmon and spinach was cooked to perfection...my only issue was a small piece of Saran Wrap was atop of my dish. They quickly rectified this. The dessert was meh...I wish the whipped cream was ice cream instead but honestly I'm not a sweets/dessert type of person so you may love it!I'm definitely going back to chill on their patio and have several drinks in the near future ^_^
Be the first to ReplyCharley Bistro was an absolutely wonderful experience.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by smiling, friendly faces. The decor was vibrant and fun. The food was great; I had the best Wiener Schnitzel I've had since living in Switzerland. I will definitely be back--especially because parking is convenient and free!

This place is incredible!!! The food is absolutely delicious - and so quick! Normally when food is this quick I question how fresh it is - not here! Everything tastes so fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff are all so friendly too. Really cool vibe inside and nice outdoor area too! The quinoa salad with salmon was the best salad I've ever had (and I eat a lot of salads!) and the salmon was cooked to perfection! The photo doesn't even do it justice - must try!

This place is a hidden gem! It's located in a nice area of Harrison with a lot of modern and new apartment buildings. As soon as you walk through the doors, you're greeted by a super cute/retro restaurant ambiance. We wanted to grab a quick drink at the bar before being seated and we were greeted by a very nice bartender. 5/5 because those were well made drinks. I happened to get an espresso martini!Throughout the night we ordered appetizers prior to ordering dinner. The food here is light, flavorful and authentic. I highly recommend giving this place some love!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and great service.
We had the alpine omelet, poached eggs with avocado toast, and their pancake whose name I can't pronounce. Drinks were the elderflower spritzer and their virgin cosmopolitan. All excellent. Glad we have another brunch option in the Newark/Harrison area.
Be the first to ReplyRecently went in for Brunch so disappointed.
The service from the front not great the bar was horrible waited long only to find out she forgot to enter my order. ย Food ok but menu is lacking. Expected more from a ย Chef that has Michelin Stars. Total disappointment will not be back.

This place is fantastic and an absolute vibe! The first thing that hits you is the amazing Ambience and decor. The location is beautiful! Next, the drinks were so good, I recommend the checkpoint Charlie and for a nice twist, substitute the vodka for gin in the checkpoint Charlie. Next, the apps were so good the currywurst is a definite must-have. The pretzel with the sweet mustard is the next must-try app. For mains, the short rib or burger is the way to go! Both don't disappoint. The dessert was my only negative of the nice. We ordered the sachertorte (chocolate cake), and it was pretty dry. Lastly, the staff is so nice and friendly! When we were having dessert, some friends popped in to say hi Around 8:30, and we all started drinking and eating again. They even stayed open a bit longer for all of us because we were having such a good time. ย I was there from 6:30 to 10:30. It was an amazing night, and I can't wait to return!
