Mita's has become one of our absolute favorite
Mita's has become one of our absolute favorite restaurants--not just for the consistently incredible food, but for the thoughtful and personal experience every time we visit. Chef Salazar is often present, and he always makes a point to connect with us--sharing stories about travel, family, and of course, food. His presence adds a personal touch that truly sets Mita's apart. We especially love the pop-up dining, fundraising events, and wine dinners--each one is a carefully curated experience that always exceeds expectations. We make it a priority to attend because they're just that special. I've even found myself continuing to ask Chef Salazar for his version of a dish that was featured only once at one of these exclusive events--it left such an impression that I can't forget it! Every visit to Mita's is memorable. It's more than just dining--it's an experience, and we're always looking forward to the next one. Keith and Lisa:)

We came for their 10th anniversary dinner, which also coincided with my boyfriend's birthday dinner. It was a 4 course tasting menu, with multiple plates per course. Everything was served family style and was absolutely delicious. Our server was fantastic and was quick to answer any questions we had. Our favorite plates were probably the chicharron and the sandìa watermelon course, but honestly every bite was just as tasty as the last. It was our first time here, but I can't wait to go back and try the normal menu!

We only had one night in Cincinnati and it was so hard to narrow down places for dinner! I'm so glad we chose Mita's. The service was outstanding and the vibes were high (8pm on a Friday)! I love tapas restaurants and trying a little bit of everything. The two of us split the goat cheese stuffed peppers, ceviche of the day, tostones and guacamole, and the pork chop. We were very happy with everything, and our waitress was supportive/enthusiastic about our choices which always helps.
Our waiter recommended we order two to three plates each
Our waiter recommended we order two to three plates each but was annoyed when we only ordered 5 for the three of us to start. The shishito peppers were well cooked with flakey sea salt. The short rib empanadas were good but a little dry and needs to delish sauce provided. The shrimp ceviche was okay. We ordered additional empanadas that were good but....... Everything was just okay until dessert. They brought out the almond cake. It was warm, rich with just the right amount of frosting. I can only relate it to a warm hug from a loved one. The dessert rectified the entire experience.
Mita's is my all time favorite restaurant in Cincinnati.
So when my friends were visiting Cincinnati for the first time, I knew I had to bring them here. I come here often and always for special occasions like my birthday, as I'm never disappointed. The restaurant atmosphere is very modern and the windows make it an amazing spot for the sunset time when light hits the rooms. However, it looks upscale, but is casual. You don't have to be dressed up to feel comfortable here. You see people dressed up for special occasions and also in casual Reds clothing. The waitress and staff was so friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond. My friend spilled her drink on the table and they were apologizing even though it wasn't their fault at all, and they came with napkins and towels right away. They even replaced her drink with a fresh new one! She got the MEJOR MANERA and it was amazing. So refreshing. I had a spicy non alcoholic drink as I was exhausted from the day and it was refreshing and amazing. The spice is perfect. We ordered a bunch of dishes for us to all try and share. There were 3 adults sharing. We got started with the cheese board. My favorite was the CABRA AL' ROMERO with the membrillo with the rye chips. The VACA AÑEJO also has a nice nutty flavor which I liked. The VALDEON was my least favorite due RJ the pungent flavor but is still a very smooth and creamy cheese. We then got our stuffed peppers with goat cheese (PIMIENTOS PIQUILLO RELLENOS) which were fantastic. Perfect Sherry glaze and melts in your mouth. The CALCOTS were also refreshing. When it said spring onions with sauce I wasn't expecting it to taste so good but the charred flavors with the romesco sauce is delicious. The shrimp Ceviche was next and I love the citrus flavors with the plantain chips but I think I like the fish of the day ceviche best. The corn nuts were interesting with the ceviche. We then got our PULPO and CRUDO DE VIERAS. The Pulpo was very interesting with the foam mashed potatoes, however, the seasoning for the octopus was a bit too salty for my taste. The scallops were my all time favorite. They melt in your mouth and had amazing flavors with the jalapeño balanced with the cherry yuzu. I could have had 10 of these alone. We then got the TACOS DE LENGUA. This was my 2nd favorite item and I was hesitant to get it but the waitress said it was very good and recommended it. She said the beef tongue wasn't chewy and tough but the way they cook it it's soft and she was absolutely correct. What I loved most was the combination of flavors with the watermelon and mint and the pico de gallo. These are a must try. At the end we got the LUBINA RAYADA which is my 3rd favorite item of our meal that day. The fish was fantastic and fresh. The roasted carrots paired so well along with the cilantro oil and carrot spread. The young coconut added a nice crunch and freshness as well. We were absolutely stuffed after all these dishes we didn't get dessert but they all looked amazing as always. I can't wait to be back it Mita's for my next foodie adventure!
I love this place.
I love shareable plates and this is them perfect place for that. Staff is super nice and know the menu. The empanadas are and Bocadilla sliders are awesome!
Excellence
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Mita’s last night. Five dishes shared, each of which was expertly prepared and presented. Thanks to Heather for her excellent service. This restaurant should be on your list for regular Cincinnati dining. Note: this is tapas dining, so bring your patience for a carefully paced dinner.
Not to be missed.
Really great dishes at a bargain price. Online photos don’t do justice to the space. We were amazed by all we had from breads to salads to mains. We would recommend this to all.

long story short: stunning small plates We went to Mita's on a Wednesday night but it was still bustling & busy, which gave it a warm & comfortable atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive & well-versed in their menu. We got a few drinks, a glass of orange wine & a white sangria. The sangria was good, if a bit bland, but the orange wine was delicious. As for plates, we started with jamon & olives with goat cheese. The jamon was wonderfully savory & thin, a definite must-order. The olives & cheese were warm & a great start to the meal. Next, we tried a seasonal skewer with peppers, olive, sardine, & black garlic; WOW! The short-rib empanadas were succulent &, with the chimmi, so delicious. The pork belly tacos were perfectly cooked & sweet & spicy. Oh & the potatoes were to die for- perfectly flavorful & crispy. We finished with the tres leches cake, which was good but a bit average compared to the rest of the meal. We left full & planning what we want to get the next time we come.

6/14/25 - Came with group of 8 people and had a phenomenal experience. We were a very lively bunch, but our server Jake knew exactly how to play into it. Great table in the back with a view of the open kitchen too. Everyone split a few things, but my favorites were the Empanadas and Ceviche. White Sangria pitcher was a great choice too.

Wow! Can't stop thinking about spiced skate wing, snow peas and blueberries. What a pairing! Best dish I've had on my trip to Cincinnati. Beautiful restaurant. Date night special. Parking in a garage is your best bet. Would absolutely come back here.

We were staying at the hotel across the street and were looking for a nice place for dinner. Yelp reviews led us here and we had an excellent meal! We were 2 people who ordered 2 tapas plus ice cream for dessert. We had the shrimp ceviche with plantain chips, goat cheese stuffed peppers, pork belly tacos, and patatas bravas. All 4 choices were excellent and quite large portions for a tapas place. We finished with the mango sorbet with caramel sauce and the plantain ice cream with coconut. Both were soo good. Our server Juan did a nice job and food arrived quickly. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud.
JUST GO ALREADY !!!
This is our 3rd trip to Mitas. Each time the experience was top notch both in food quality and service. I am a Spanish food snob but on this trip we did branch out a bit on the suggestion of a friend and tried the "sliders" The only thing about them was a trocito of Jamon, however the quality of the meat and the taste of the overall burger combination was amazingly good! Though the octupus dish tastes spanish it's preparation is unlike any plate I've ever eaten in Spain over the last 40 years. It's 5 star quality for sure but for my taste I'd much rather have a plate of perfectly cooked potatos and large cuts of octupus sprinkled with kosher salt and smoked paprika. Though not SPanish either were the pork belly tacos, but I found my self secretly chanting GET IN MUH BELLLY as I at mine. YUM!!!! I will be back for sure. Sooner than later.
A good flavor of Spain.
Park in nearby parking lots. Made a reservation. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted, our reservation recognized and seated to our preference. The Spanish style dining take a little to get used to. We enjoyed the tapas and racciones. Tasty food, served appetizing. Knowledgeable, attentive, courteous waitstaff. The décor is blah but the very high ceiling with noise damping panels allows for lower noise levels and good conversation. The background musing IMO was too loud.
Excellent Service, Solid Food
Similar to previous experiences food was solidly good. The Peaches with Ham were interesting, a first for us. Presentation was creatively. Flavors blended well, sweet and salty. Tostones and Guacamole were good. Plenty of tostones for 5he guacamole. The Octopus was a favorite. Very tender and tasty. Good sized portion. Empanadas with meat were spot on; both crispness, amount of filling and taste. Paella was okay. The crispness of the rice was a highlight. Seafood was great, rice cooked perfectly. There was an ingredient, believe it was chorizo that we continued repeating well into the night. Solid wine list options. Our server Juan was TOP NOTCH, kudos to him and the team. No rush, relaxed and pleasant/ attentive service.
Horrible customer service
I went there with colleagues from the AP Reading. We had appetizers and then a horrible paella (very salty and spicy). We left it there, but did not complain. That night I got really sick: I discharged for more that n 12 hours and lost a day of work. When I went to the restaurant to let them know, the manager could not care less and asked me to provide blood and feces exams to prove it was their food. Can you believe it?! Stay away from this place, there is plenty of restaurants with a great customer service. This is not one of them.
Wonderful flavors
Our meal was wonderful. We selected an item from each of the menu categories. The dishes were very flavorful and fresh. Our server was outstanding and made sure to explain the menu and make suggestions when asked. We will definetly be back.
Another 12/10 experience from them best chef in Cincinnati.
The service, atmosphere, drinks, and most importantly, food all made for the perfect night. The old classics were better than we remembered them and the tamales are definitely a new staple.

Previously went to Mita's with a bigger group so we had a limited menu so this is our first time here with the full experience. Definitely recommend the shishito peppers and tostones. In terms of meats, the short rib empanadas were delicious and the dough was very flaky and buttery. We also got the pork belly tacos and they were very well caramelized. Recommend the tres leches cake for dessert, I could swim in that sauce.

I just got into Spanish cuisine! It is the most incredible food. Everything was bursting in flavors that were both unique and complementary. The server was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. I loved the large windows and lower lighting. They recommended 5-6 plates per two people. The wine list is extensive and it was great to choose from wines local to Spain! There is plenty of street parking.

I've eaten there many times and as always it was exceptional, food and service is really good...easy parking and comfortable seating, good vibe and reasonable cost makes it ideal...

Last night was our first time at Mita's, and it 100% lived up to every expectation!! Jose Salazar and team's dishes had such unique flavors that each bite left you salivating for more. Each tapa plate came out one after another, giving us time to enjoy each item, but kept us excited and wondering for the next one. Highly recommend!! Service was also wonderful and our waitress gave us great recommendations!
Great tapas place.
The pork belly tacos and plantains were by far our favorites. They brought out a cute cookie for her birthday also. Very thoughtful
Always love mitas, and got the venison tartare this time!
Always love mitas, and got the venison tartare this time! Great flavor and not gamey at all. Snag yourself a reservation to one of the top restaurants in the US!

Good service. Bad ceviche. Overpriced in general
I went with my girlfriend, and we ordered five small plates/tapas. 1. Tablas de queso con membrillo (cheese table) we like it, but the membrillo was a little 2. pimientos piquillo filled with goat cheese. Perfect. 2 units 3. Patatas Bravas. It is different from the traditional Spanish version, but I liked them. 4. Coquetas. Eran cuatro unidades, con alioli. Bien 5. ceviche. I had very high expectations and… the worst of the five plates. It is slight and does not have much flavor. This one was disappointing The service was excellent, but the price/food ratio was a bit overpriced, in my opinion.
Just ok.
Nothing memorable and wouldn't go again. Spent almost 150 for two of us and in hindsight wish we had gone somewhere else. Service was fine but the whole experience was just mediocre.

I came with my boyfriend for our anniversary and had the most amazing experience! Our waitress was wonderful, the food was perfect, and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. We were surprised with the most delicious desserts and champagne at the end of the night. I would recommend this restaurant 100%! You must come here!
The power of Christ compels me.
..to leave a great review and go back to Mita's soon. This was phenomenal. The service, the food, the pacing of the meal, the attention from our server Lindsey...absolutely five stars. First, Chris at the door has the perfect little welcoming smile, and did a great job of making us feel like our party belonged as soon as we entered. We'd briefly thought to enlarge our group, and Chris acted like changing a major reservation at the last moment was not an issue at all. Absolutely unfazed. We ultimately decided to keep our small group at 4, and enjoyed a round of cocktails before heading to our table. I love a restaurant that just transfers your bar tab to your table as opposed to making you settle up immediately. Talk about a relaxed transition from bar to table. The sangria was delicious, the old fashioneds were even better, and I have to admit, I haven't seen as inventive a cocktail menu as Mita's has in quite some time. I haven't even started on the food. That glorious and delicious food. There was one STANDOUT dish that was so special, it mentally took me back to my meal at Nobu in Caesar's Palace in Vegas. The chef, in his/her mad genius, sent out a venison carpaccio dish that my table literally ended up fighting over the last bite. The flavors on this dish, the textures, the finish? Glorious. Let me talk about my server, Lindsey, for a hot minute. When I tell you this girl KNOWS her menu...she KNOWS the menu. After she's taken the table's order she asked about food allergies. Someone in the group named theirs, and Lindsey IMMEDIATELY told her the ingredients of the dish she's ordered contained the allergen in question. She offered a corrective on the spot, went to the kitchen to confirm with the chef, and we were good to go. This may seem small to you, but I hate going places and ordering things only to have to wait until the food gets to the table to realize the very thing you requested NOT be on your plate, is ALLLLLL over your damn plate. (Some server in Memphis, TN, once almost killed a niece and nephew of mine because she had peanuts put on their Thai salads even after we'd specifically said the children had peanut allergies). So kudos to Lindsey for knowing the Mita menu and being able to recommend alterations that don't compromise the final dish. I'll definitely be back, with friends or by myself. The food, the service, and the ambiance are all well worth it, and if you've never been...the power of Christ compels you...to now go enjoy Mita's. P.S. A shoutout to Benjamin, the bellman across the street from Mita's at the Hilton. He absolutely sent our party over to Mita's in style. We'd struggled to find parking and as we circled asking, he said, "You're just going to Mita's across the street? I'll take care of you." Free parking downtown just because he was a good young man and wanted us to enjoy our dinner at Mita's. I love it when local businesses look out for each other and their patrons. I just love it.

If you want a delightful and different experience every time, check this place out. My wife and I first discovered this place on our first anniversary. Our server was so engaging and kind. They brought us champagne immediately (we referenced anniversary on the reservation). The server was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. All the food was delicious, unique, and fun. My favorite was the pulpo, but we tried so many dishes and everything was exquisite. The wines are all excellent too. Not a bad thing on the menu. We loved our experience so much, we decided to make it our anniversary spot. The only downside is we don't get to come as much but for 5 anniversaries now, we have enjoyed Mita's. Every experience delicious and different, every time excellent food, drink, and service. Cannot recommend this place more, and we look forward to our next anniversary there.
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Cincinnati.
Go with friends, share plates, drink wine, thank me later.
Excellent experience last night.
Juan was our server, asked about our time restrictions and advised us when and what to order. He was professional, friendly and advised us perfectly. We had ceviche, plaintains, pork belly tacos along with orange wine.Food was very good. Will return.
Mita's had amazing sliders.
We also tried olives and ceviche, which were good, but the sliders were the best. I recommend skipping the squash and mushrooms. When I go back I will get the tacos and the wagyu sirloin steak. The servers can tell you about how many each small plate serves and make recommendations. We also enjoyed the decor. The dividers kept the noise down some and were interesting and unique.

The ambience of this place is great, which is why it's 2/5
The ambience of this place is great, which is why it's 2/5 and not 0/5. We ordered the patatas bravas with aioli (potatoes lol) , stuffed peppers, muslos de pollo (it's just chicken thighs), and the arepa (corn pancake). The potatoes were over salted and had too much paprika. They tasted like the nacho cheese fries from Taco Bell. I can't recommend this. The stuffed peppers were decent but they only come with TWO PEPPERS per order. That's $6 a pepper... what?! The chicken thighs were plated nicely. What it lacked in salt was made up for in seasoning. Just kidding, it was flavorless too. I can't recommend this either. The arepa was pretty tasty, but you could go to the area establishment and get this for half the price. This place is great for instagram but not your tastebuds or wallet. I was disappointed and spent roughly $100(includes paid parking) on this mediocre crap.
Another Fantastic Meal!
We took our three adult children (late 20's), who have never experienced real Spanish Tapas, for Christmas dinner on the Dec. 23rd. Because none of us had ever experienced paella, we ordered it upon seating like the restaurant suggested. We then proceeded to order almost one of everything on the menu! Our server Max, which my wife and I have had serve us before, was lovely and very attentive. Our two bottles of Rose wine that we ordered were lovely. We started having our tapas and then the paella was served way before we were expecting. So the big dish took up a lot of room on the table while we were trying to navigate the other dishes. But all ended up okay. Here is what we all thought: Cheese plate: absolutely lovely Mushrooms: Rich Life Farms (local shrooms) and squash. Excellent Empanadas: good, sauce is lovely Ceviche: very fresh, very citrus forward as a ceviche should be Taco: favorite of our group, we should have ordered more Carne Asada: OMG! this is the best dish we had, please order this. Paella: It was very seafood forward, which was great, but not as much food as we thought. We all loved the seasoning of the rice, but my son was the only one who ate the octopus. All of the other shellfish were cooked well and tasty. Shrimp Skewer on a Baguette: fantastic!! Just order it. We had a lovely drink called Carajillo to end the night. It's a Spanish Liqueur that was lovely.
Great Place to Eat
the Food and Service here is GREAT !! it's in a great location in downtown Cincinnati, i can't say enough about how Good the food is. Our waiter was great and explained their menu really well and he provided great service. We'll be coming to eat here anytime we're in Cincinnati.
Go here!
Delicious food. This is a great place to go to have a few tastes of several menu items. They are small and shareable plates, which is a great way to taste a lot of menu items. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the wine as well. Recommended!
Great food
Again a great experience at Mita’s Great tapas and small bites that’s are.shareable. Such as ceviche or the wonderful roasted Shishito peppers. I enjoy sitting at the bar for great service
30th birthday celebration
Perfect place to celebrate my foodie son's 30th birthday! He's from Austin, where they have an amazing culinary scene, so we wanted to take him somewhere special and Mita's fit the bill! Four of us took turns choosing tapas, that we all shared. In all, we tried 8 tapas, 2 desserts, and 7 drinks and not one disappointed! I would highly recommend Mita's and am sure we will return.
James Beard Chef!
There was nothing but exceptional food here. Each small plate bright new, sumptuous tastes. We overspent because we just kept ordering- cheese, arepa, tostones (my fav), sliders, pan con tomatoes... it was truly amazing. We will return here!
Too good for words
One of the best ever! I particularly liked the paella. The pulpos was super! The papas was unique! I finished with a chocolate tort! I think it was the best tapas I have been to. This is a must do if in Cincinnati
Amazing Taste composition experience
Delicious food!!! Had a Ceviche del Dia and it was a fusion of tastes and also light enough to leave space for the desert that the kind bar tender helped me to choose: strawberry and rhubarb empanadas … probably the best I’ve ever had! Thank you and I’ll be back again.
Everything was freshly made…
Fresh, fresh, fresh food, very pleasant. We where lucky to get a table. It was busy on a Wednesday. You must book a table. Everything we ate was tasty. I had a cocktail as a starter, it was good as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant. It was an upscaled tapas restaurant.
