Amazing food every time we visit.
The BBQ stingray, satay with peanut sauce, and ah hock fried hokkien noodles are absolutely delicious. Refreshing drinks. Lively and social atmosphere. A must visit!

This Food center is very limited to its options and the cooks are lacking in customer service
Be the first to ReplyIt was pretty good.
I had seen some great reviews and recommendations before I went, so I was expecting a lot more.A lot of the food was seafood, which isn't typically my style, so just be aware of that before you venture out here. We were staying just down the street, so I was an easy walk.I would say check it out if you can make it here!

Stopped by here late on a weekday while returning from the zoo. This was the only hawker center which said it was open till 1 am. Was teeming with people even at 1030pm! Has a great selection of noodles, satay, grilled BBQ and seafood. Highly recommended is the fresh juice which are served in 1L beer steins if you order the large!

Definitely hyped up and unfortunately this food center didn't live up to it in my opinion. Many people who've visited Singapore have raved about this place and so I had to check it out. It is true what people say about the following: - it is a smaller food center than others - poor ventilation and smokiness inside, outside tables would be more ideal - busy crowds and you have to hover or get hovered by people waiting for tables - many stalls selling the exact same thing - lots of tourists with some locals I found it weird that of all the hawker food stalls I've been to that this one was the most chaotic in that the people working at the stalls would try to get your attention to go and purchase from their stall. I thought it was too much and not really necessary. Tried lots of food and it was good and tasty. Only thing is that I don't think I'd return here specifically just for it. There are other centers that have food that have more variety and good eats too. One thing that is nice, is for most of the stalls, you order at the stalls and tell them your table number and then they deliver the food to you. Whereas other food centers it may be self-serve only. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the stalls but I did try to check out more of the stalls on this hungrygowhere food guide so it is similar:http://www.hungrygowhere.com/dining-guide/hawker/hawker-guide-chomp-chomp-food-centre-*aid-7ยญ4703101/- sambal BBQ stingray: a first time trying it and to my surprise it was yummy. I say to my surprise because I didn't know what to expect and it was good. I'd like to try it from other stalls too - popiah and pie tee: tasty. Spicy is more enjoyable for me - sugar cane: good - satay: small but fine 60 cents per stick pork chicken mutton - hokkien mien: took the longest and came out piping hot which I appreciate! - curry noodles: weakest dish of the night - Rojak: not my cup of tea but had a decent amount of shrimp paste - chicken wings: okay Tip: get there early to reserve a tableTip: hokkien mee from that Ah Hock does take some time to make and bring to your table so I'd order it first. They said 25-30 min for us Tip: bring your own tissues (as usual per Singapore) but you may need some extra depending if you're eating finger food or get sweaty since there's less ventilation Tip: some stalls are closed on certain days/times so check if possible before you head out so you're not disappointed

If your hungry, head on down to Serangoon Gardens iconic Chomp Chomp Hawker Center. Lots of stalls selling the same type of dishes from seafood to landfood to different types of non alcoholic drinks. Great place to go if your hungry but finding a place to seat is a chore. Too many people too few seats. The answer is go early! I liked the chicken wings, bbq seafood and various types of other local food. Yum yum... Got to go... Foods comin'...
Be the first to ReplyEveryone knows Chomp Chomp.
Such a popular place to have dinner located in serangoon gardens, but slightly too popular to be honest. Chomp Chomp opens at 6,so to find a seat there, you would have to be there once it opens. I went to Chomp Chomp with my friends at about 7 , we had to wait for like 30+ mins just to find a seat. Once we finally secured a place to seat, I bought a cup of sugar cane juice and hokkien mee. For the price I paid,I received a large cup (taller than my hand) of sugar cane and a very nice plate of ย hokkien mee! This place is a must try for every Singaporean as the food is quite affordable! The only few downside is the seating and the slightly smoky atmosphere.Hokkien mee - 8/10Sugarcane juice - 9/10
Be the first to ReplyThe best street stalls in one hawker centre.
Everything you need is in one place is great for tourist who wants to get a feel of singapores street food it's ambience is perfect although it gets a little smoky so be prepared for your clothes to smell like smoky BBQ food

This is where you HAVE to go whenever friends come visit from overseas. They have the whole spread of hawker food, but those are only good supplements for the highlights of this place, which is the grilled seafood and stir fry. BBQ stingray is a must try, as well as carrot cake, satay bee hoon, grilled chicken wings, satay and basically everything they sell in here. The prices are slightly higher, but honestly I think it's very very reasonable for the quality of the food. Also get a gigantic glass of sugarcane juice, add some lemons and sour plums to it if you like a sweet and sour aftertaste. Come early though, like before 6pm, or you'll have to wait around for a table.
