A friend of ours got us the Dining Hall Pass, so for a Sat
A friend of ours got us the Dining Hall Pass, so for a Sat date night, we decided to go to Coperta for dinner. It's located near downtown Denver, away from the noise. Such a cute ambiance inside. From the tile flooring to the wood furniture, there's a homey feel. Our waitress was very welcoming. I was between two cocktails and she easily persuaded me to go with their Sage Advice signature cocktail. I'm so happy I did, it was great! For dishes we decided to try four of their pastas, start sizes. We ordered the Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe, Bucatini All'amatriciana, Goat Cheese Ravioli, and the Linguini. Everything was so delicious!! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyOne and done! I ordered the $33 Pollo Alla Diavola.
. This half chicken was small, tasteless, and dry. You would think at that price point a side dish would be offered. That is NO! The pasta dishes ordered by others were small in portion for the price point and were also tasteless. I did not think the service was worth a 23% mandated service charge. There are way too many good Italian restaurants in town to go back to Coperta.

I eat out rather often. We went to this restaurant last night and my date is still sick as we speak from what must have been spoilt goat cheese that was in what was an inedible pasta dish of hers. The service was perhaps worse than the food, which was universally awful. The drinks were similarly unimpressive. Then they had the audacity to attach a 23% gratuity to the meal for four people. We then walked outside and were shat on by a gaggle of crows. A memorable night in that it was universally a poor experience. Will never go back. Do not make the mistake of going there yourself.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, service isn't the friendliest.
Pricey for what you get , on top of that is a 23% gratuity added to your bill!

We came her on Christmas Eve and while the ambiance is great and always has been, we likely don't have any desire to return. What was advertised was not what was offered and of course you're paying a premium for a somewhat set menu.Service was just ok, meh.

We thought we'd try this place considering the reviews, but worst decision of our lives. The service and wine was good; however the food was not good at all. Was very disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyAgree with the other reviews unfortunately.
Food was pretty good but food is way overpriced and tiny portions. Shouldn't leave an Italian restaurant hungry for $60 + per person

The first time I went to Coperta many years ago the food wasn't great and the service wasn't either. We decided last night to try it again and I am so so glad we did. The food was amazing and the service was even better. We ate calamari, meatball (meatball appetizers on Monday are AMAZING), Cacio e Pepe and a pork chop. If nothing else order the Pork Chop - presentation was incredible, the meat was so tender and the sauce was absolutely scrumptious! We will definitely be back!!

Amazing service and even better food! They offer half sizes of their pastas, which was the perfect excuse to try more than one. The desserts were out of this world...best cannoli I've ever had.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.
The drinks are good too. We had some cinnamon cranberry concoction for Christmas and it was quite tasty. We also each had a glass of wine. All tasty, But...I don't like leaving a restaurant hungry or thirsty. We payed more than $180 for two people, and while the food and drink were good, the pasta and drink portions were ridiculous small, given the price. And what kind of Italian restaurant doesn't give you bread with your meal? Instead, they charge you through the roof for a very small portion of focaccia upon request. One more thing...they added a default 23% service charge to our already pricey meal. Given the inflated prices, this seems excessive. Its not like I am going to question that in the restaurant at the time of payment, even if the service was just average (and it was).I would certainly go back and raise my review by at least a star (probably 2 even) if they would work on the portion sizes or lower the prices to match the quantity served.
