Absolutely fantastic.
.. saw this in a tik tok by a Positano influencer CHRISTIE https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPR7u4kjW/. As advertised a wonderful and friendly beach front restaurant with a more secluded beach -15 min walking distance or boat taxi with excellent food and drinks that also sells beach chairs.
Be the first to ReplyGreat beach club away from the main beaches.
Much quieter and more relaxing. Great food and drinks. About a 5-7 min walk from the ferry or they also have a water shuttle. Would definitely go back next time we visit Positano.
Be the first to ReplyThe food at da Ferdinando was excellent.
The pasta was creamy and flavorful and the lemon sorbet was very refreshing. They also served a fresh basket of bread. Everything was great including the service.

Best dinner of our trip - the pesto spaghetti was to die for. I forget the official name
Be the first to ReplyFood was awesome.
The walk from the marina is a challenge so take a quick water taxi instead. But worth the walk for a great meal.
Be the first to ReplyA very cute beach club/restaurant on the smaller Fornillo
A very cute beach club/restaurant on the smaller Fornillo beach adjacent to Spaggio Grande. You can actually take a small complimentary boat from the main beach in Positano to Fornillo Beach, but it's also a nice 10/15min walk from beach to beach. It's definitely a quieter and seemingly more private beach! We got chairs in the first row for 30€ per person. They have a menu where you can order cocktails or bottles (we got aperol spritzs and Prosecco). You can also order food to eat at your chair. We made lunch reservations at 12pm, and we had spaghetti nerano, prawns, and red shrimp carpaccio. Everyone who worked there was lovely and attentive.Make sure to call ahead for a chair/lunch reservation!
Be the first to ReplyFornillo Beach, where Da Ferdinando is located, is a short
Fornillo Beach, where Da Ferdinando is located, is a short 15-minute walk from the Poistano port. 15 minutes and a world away, atmospherically, from the crowds of Americans sitting shoulder to shoulder on Positano's main beach. Fornillo appealed to the side of me that prefers a quieter atmosphere.Lining the shore of Fornillo Beach are a string of beach clubs followed by a small public beach at the end. For those not familiar with beach clubs here's what's on offer:* a chaise lounge with beach umbrella;* food and drink served at that chaise lounge;* use of things like rafts, SUPs, and kayaks; and* restrooms and changing rooms.Day one I identified Da Ferdinando as the best of the lot, after looking at the menus, atmosphere, and reviews of all of the other beach clubs and stopping here for a drink. Days 2 and 3 I returned to De Ferdinando's to reserve a chaise lounge and spent the day being spoiled by their staff with food and cocktails far better than that I had almost anyplace else in Poistano. Near the end of my stay I ran into a couple I'd met on Day 1; they had tried another beach club only to conclude that Da Ferdinando's was indeed the best. Prices may change as the summer goes on, but in May a chaise lounge with umbrella, closest to the water, was about $20USD for the day. One or two rows back (that's about as far as the rows go) or later in the day the price drops significantly. Including a delicious lunch and a cocktail or two I never exceeded $50USD for the entire day. Though the walk to Da Ferdinando is short it's not flat so it's worth knowing that Da Ferdinando offers motor boat service, free of charge, to and from the Positano port. It's a nice way to get out on the water without being in the water and to keep from sweating through your clothes in Italy's summer heat.Da Ferdinando was splendid. Were I returning to Positano I've little doubt it's where I'd again spend almost every day.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views, good food and nice service.
I had a caprese sandwich that was very nice, as they all are in Positano. My gf had a banana, strawberry smoothie. The views of the beach are great. The staff are super fast and friendly service. They do not bother you. There is also free wifi. While you eat there you can jump in the ocean for a quick dip.Definitely recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyOur visit to this restaurant was a very pleasant one.
It was recommended to us by another tourist and I will recommend the future tourist to go here. Few minutes away from the crowded Positano beach you will find Fornillo Beach. They offer beach chairs and umbrellas so you can lounge here all day swimming , drinking cold beer and eating delicious food. We took the free boat to here but later I found out that you can walk there through town. But walking in Positano is very challenging so just take the boat. The customer service is wonderful, the prices are very reasonable and the views are breathtaking. Perfect place to swim and avoid crowds.

We didn't eat here, this review is mainly about the awesome customer service that was provided to us. We came to Da Ferdinando inquiring about a water taxi ride to Praiano. They normally don't go to Praiano but the bar attendant asked the captain (Guido) if he would be willing to make an exception (it seems business had been a bit slow for a few days so why not make an extra buck?). The captain agreed, quoted us a fair price and we set a time for later that afternoon. We proceeded to walk around, enjoyed the water and lounged on the pebbled Fornillo beach before returning to the restaurant for our ride. We actually came back a bit earlier than the time we had agreed upon (we tend to be sticklers when it comes to punctuality...can't help it!) and had to wait for our captain who was completing another ride. The owner, in a effort to make it up to us and apologize for the 'delay' (which really wasn't at all since we were early) offered my husband and I each a complimentary glass of prosecco. It was such a kind and nice gesture, and surely he didn't have to do that, but it was definitely much appreciated. The prosecco by the way was absolutely delicious! I didn't have high expectations for good wine being served at a beach side restaurant, but I guess this is Italy, they're all about good quality products no matter where they are. Our captain Guido was also awesome, super friendly and so nice. He got us to Praiano safe and sound, and was quite the fun character to chat with.
Be the first to ReplyYour typical beach bar along Fornillo Beach.
Pros:- fast service. We got seated immediately and got our food pretty quickly, which was key after finishing the Path of the Gods and needing a break.- good views for Fornillo Beach, a rocky beach immediately next to Positano- decently affordable- cocktails were 8 euro- free WiFi - pizza was tasty!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food at this beach side restaurant. Actually I was amazed at the food. I only gave them three stars because the service is really bad. The wait staff acts like your a nuisance. I had to constantly signal them with hand gestures to get service or request the bill. The view is a 10 and the restaurant is so convenient when you are at the beach. This beach and restaurant are a much better deal than the main beach in Positano.

Perfect location, decent food, affordable pricing in a super expensive destination.. we got lucky to try it out as our first stop for food and drinks! And yes friendly and helpful staff :)

Great location on Fornolio beach, away from the crowded hustle and bustle of the main beach. The people who work here are super friendly and accommodating. We ordered a few drinks from the bar that you could bring to the beach, as well as caprese and a panini that they brought down to us with a little table. The chairs are 8 euro each, slightly cheaper than the place next door. There's also WiFi that comes with that, which was great because our hotel's WiFi broke and we had to check into our flight!
Be the first to ReplyI would give it 3.
5 stars if that was an option. Food was good, but not great. Good views from the eating area. Staff was attentive and friendly and accommodated our combination of bad italian and English :). I had the meat lasagna. The portion was not too large but was sufficient. My wife had pasta with fish...it was tasty, but the portion of fish was a little small. Overall, when considering the price point, a good choice for lunch.
