Being part of the Burswood building which is massive since
Being part of the Burswood building which is massive since the addition and renovations we and not being regular clients to this establishment we found the entire place poorly signed with easy see directions, as there are just so many restaurant choices here. The food was impeccable without doubt one of the best smorgasbord up market experiences I've had in Perth. The choice of seafood local and imported was fresh well prepared, surprisingly the oysters (2) types where well presented very fresh and tasty prawns firm fresh well balanced in cooked styles with a subtle taste. Meats: beef pork chicken lamb roasted to a juicy perfection gravy on the side. I would have liked to see some game meats like crocodile. Well done to the chefs a job very well done but please sort out your curry's all where good bar the curried lamb, I would suggest using lamb not mutton for the western taste buds. Deserts: a massive choice and I only tried about 8 choices again well done. Fruit platter: fresh crispy watermelon rockmelon and many more choices. I would suggest several visits to this hard to locate dinner experience if you can afford the $230. For the 2 of us...finally our table was cared for and served extremely well by a young lady who was just brilliant in her approach to serving our party... congratulations to all staff and chefs... the reason you failed to get 6 stars is the mutton curry.
Be the first to ReplyThis is probably my favourite buffet restaurant of all time.
But if I've being completely honest they do not have a wide range of main course meals as atrium. But they make it up with the variety of desserts. When entering the restaurant you are greeted with friendly faces, if this is the first time you have eaten at the restaurant they give you a tour of all the courses before seating you at the table. The wide range of drinks such as mock tails and alcoholic beverages. The decorating of the restaurant is classy and formal. I overall enjoyed my experience at epicurean I would recommend this restaurant to people and would like to go again.
Be the first to ReplyWow! Just wow.
What an amazing complimentary breakfast buffet to end our stay at Crown. There was a long line when we arrived but the line moved very quickly. We were cordially greeted by a host who offered to give us a tour before being seated. I thought later we should have taken up his offer - because you're gonna get overwhelmed! It is an enormous place with so much food to choose from, even the pickiest of eaters would find something. There was this enormous white and milk chocolate fondue fountain when you enter. The place is divided between cold and hot sections, with everything from cheeses, cold meats, Asian, waffles,Pancakes, fresh fruit, tater tots, eggs, mini desserts oink! Friendly servers everywhere to assist. The place is very well kept, clean and organized.

Went here a while ago but it's still the best buffet I've been to by far, and I live in NYC which is a buffet hotspot. Very boushie, you get what you pay for, on the expensive side for most but definitely worth it as the food quality/presentation/flavour profile/diversity is far superior than say Sizzlers and the like. Interior is classy, ambience is sophisticated, spacious, clean and professional staffs.I'm a sweet tooth and the dessert buffet instantly made me feel like a child in Willy wonka's factory, so many possibilities.......of course it was my first stop, I might have enjoyed a plate....or three :) what I really wanted to do was stick my head under the chocolate fountain, but that's not lady-like and this place oozes classy haha XD Four stars as I feel the seafood selections can be wider, it would be great to see some abalone and crays. Also it seems a bit much that drinks are charged separately......Highly recommend treating yourself here, they do high tea sessions too (can't wait to try one!)

Phenomenal flavors and new twists on old fare - Chef Sean Marco does it right! Seemingly endless selections, from an assortment of fine cheeses to succulent tandoori and South and East Asian flavors - Epicurian is an experience for sure !

Be the first to ReplyHad an amazing dining experience at Epicurean.
They had a variety of Western and Asian cuisine that showcased the freshest local produce. I am not a seafood eater so I wasn't able to try their array of seafood selections. Fortunately my family and friends are avid seafood eaters and they enjoyed everything Epicurean had to offer: oysters, prawns, mud crabs, sushi just to name a few. I did however enjoy all the meat they had at the carvery station! I loved the crispy pork belly and the roasted wagyu beef. Their chocolate fountain and fun desserts were to die for! There's a choice for every person. Five star for the service as well. Our server was very attentive, always around to pick up our empty plates, fill our glasses with water and give us wash bowls! The place was very elegant, stylish and sophisticated! It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, a romantic date night, or family events with small children. Definitely the best place to dine in Perth!
Be the first to ReplyWe had high expectations for Epicurean, being part of a 6
We had high expectations for Epicurean, being part of a 6 star hotel. We'd heard people rave about when it first opened so I was expecting the Willy Wonka of buffets. But we were so disappointed with the quality and selection of food and the noise and slow lines at the buffet didn't help. Neither of us would rush back. We spoke to some friends after we went and they had the same disappointment when they went a few weeks prior. The carvery was very disappointing. One roast meat to select from (lamb which was quite fatty) or dry skirt steak, and there were no roast vegetables at all. Not a roast potato, pumpkin, carrot, pea or cauliflower bake in sight. Potato selections ran to things like wedges or tandoori potatoes. The Asian cuisine (usually a favourite) was a total let down and shopping mall food hall quality. The Thai green curry looked like someone had attacked it with green food colouring, it was so bright and fake looking and didn't taste any more exciting than it looked. No steamed rice so you had to eat it with chinese fried rice or Indian rice. Stir fry beef with soya sauce but the beef was bizarrely cut into big thick square chunks like a stew rather than thinly sliced. The sweet and sour fish was very nice. We did love the goldband snapper - until I got a sizeable bone and that put us off eating any more fish. The meatballs in tomato sauce were like compressed sausage meat and unexciting and there was no pasta served with this clearly Italian dish which was swimming in tomato sauce. A bit of pasta to accompany and soak up that sauce would have been good. The curry selections were also underwhelming. Staple butter chicken was was ok. The rest were vegetarian. For an international buffet I'd expect to see some more variety eg Indonesian or Vietnamese curries or at least some lamb or beef curry. There is no doubt it is in a beautiful location. The Crown Towers hotel is stunning and the decor in the restaurant is lovely. Very comfortable seats (although equally very heavy so they are difficult to pull in). And it was VERY noisy, so we felt like we were in a rowdy pub rather than an elegant buffet. It's also a long walk from any parking through the hotel, which is not great for people with knee or leg injuries or other mobility issues. Whoever is in charge of the menu and the food quality and selection clearly needs exposure to a proper international buff at a hotel of this level. You get a better selection at The Atrium which was surprising, and I honestly felt we have had better quality and selections at many Balinese restaurants. And as this is supposed to be a key component of their 6 star restaurant I think they to lift their game considerably. The staff however were completely lovely, they did a great job, from the very warm welcome, serving at the carvery and payment and equally warm farewell, we could not fault the service. This was well done.

This is by far the best restaurant in Perth, the value for your money is great and the food is beyond incredible. Epicurean has every cuisine you could imagine plus more, the selection of food in the buffet is fancy yet tasty and the service was just as good! I would highly recommend this for any special occasion, they even bought us out a surprise 'congratulations' cake for our anniversary which topped off the night!

Absolutely the best buffet I have been too, staff very friendly, decor exquisite,we went for lunch fab
Be the first to ReplyThis venue is a must do for any Perth local or visitor .
Menu is amazing and delivered with a wow. with Vegetarian and Allergy options. Staff are just great, though the do need more hands on deck when the busy time of the night kicks into gear. Myself and many friends who have been, have also noted they have had to wait some time for service later in the evening, management needs to step up the game here as the staff clearly are under the pump. Compliments to the Chefs and Wait staff... Bravo, I will be back.
Be the first to ReplyA premium buffet, went for lunch on Friday.
Fresh seafood spread , generous servings of sashimi salad, sushi, octopus, squid. Lovely cakes , ice cream and chocolates. I didn't have room for the roast.
