Went for Restaurant Week dinner.
When I was there the restaurant was entirely filled with middle aged businessmen, so that's the kind of place it is. Decent food which lacks any sort of nuance of flavor or presentation. The spread served with the bread had no discernible flavor, it was actually impressive that it had so many ingredients but no actual flavor at all, not even sure how that's possible. The zuppa tasted exactly like something from a can, the potatoes served with the salmon were bland, the salmon was satisfying, however, and served in a big portion, the gelato was entirely forgettable. Good service overall. Note it's a pretty small place. Wouldn't recommend coming here. Lots of better Italian spots in Manhattan

The food is delicious! Make reservations when they reopen because it's usually a busy restaurant! Love their bread! I heard they are closed, but hope they reopen soon! Great vibe there, nice long bar with plenty seats, great view from the upstairs and from the private room as well!

Lunch at Felicia's is a must! We had the 4 course chef tasting and every dish was superb and tasty!
Be the first to ReplyI dine at Felidia occasionally.
I find East Side restaurants a bit too formal, but I don't mind formality once a year. My recent trip to Felidia was a good one. I enjoyed my dinner as did my guest. We were seated upstairs, downstairs is for their regulars only. I really didn't mind that because the table's are much better spaced on the second floor. The kitchen at Felidia is solid, but not extraordinary. I very much enjoyed the Pear Pecorino Ravioli. It may sound unusual, but it was very tasty. I liked their Octopus, the tentacles were properly charred, and the prep was rustic. What I disliked was the top heavy wine list. Is everybody dining on Manhattan's East Side rich? I guess this is the price of popularity.

I've been dining at Felidia for over a decade and it never disappoints. Last night was no exception- the meal was outstanding. I like my pasta serwith my fish - this time I splurged and got two pastas - the smaller plates. My favorite dish there is the Cacio E Pepe - the pear pecorino ravioli- it melts in your mouth. I also got the spinach pappardelle with duck and mushroom ragu - it was a heavenly dish. The distinct tastes of each pasta were superb with the baked Branzino with fennel. The fish was fresh, moist and so flavorful. I always save room for the crostata, but tonight I had to pass - the extra pasta was my dessert!
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite place to go for a nice dinner.
I only come on Sunday nights as the family dinner is my favorite meal and it is consistently delicious. The wine is a bit overpriced but considering the meal is a steal- it all equals out.

Felidia has unfortunately strayed from the formula that made it one of the best Italian restaurants in the United States. After years of patronizing, I'm finished. Prices out of control for unproven new age untraditional, not Italian food, entering the realm of clueless. RIP Felidia, you will be missed.

I think this is the first of the Lydia restaurants it's gotten better over the years, earlier in the beginning( late 80s )the service is kind of rude ,food was always good the last few years seems it so it's not as busy as it used to be and they appreciate the customers more so
Be the first to ReplyToo many waiters who don't know what's going on take away
Too many waiters who don't know what's going on take away from the experience. Waiter didn't even tell us they had different types of negronis. Your Barbaresco wine is marked up at almost 100%!!!! Too expensive for what we get in return.
Be the first to ReplyGot robbed here on Valentine's Day.
I'd like to start out by stating that I wanted to leave when I saw the "b" health grade in the window on the way in. . What expensive restaurant has a b grade from the department of health??!!!!!!!!! My tuna was fishy. Not even fishy- tasted like canned salmon. My husband who has never once returned a meal in my his life took one bite of it and stood up waving at waiter (service was so bad you had to do this to get attention of staff) and sent the tuna back for the first time in his life. Service is so bad I was floored. I don't typically notice the service but here I did. My husband was shocked I noticed it while we were ordering drinks waiting for our table. There was plastic in My steak dish. I don't want a 200$ prepaid menu with any plastic used whatsoever. Or cans. I'll be calling back to remove the tip off of our card. They can take a tip out of our 500$ bill since when I scooped the plastic out of the bottom of the dish and showed the waiter he replied "I don't know " and walked away. On our way out the Owner was sitting at the bar with a woman, guessing his wife or girlfriend, complaining about how bad the crowd was tonight. Such a classy thing to hear when you signed over $600 of your hard earned money. Their lunch pre fixed is $34 so if you're going to times that price by ten , you should warn people and / or make it worth it. You can fine done on the same corner for half the price for five star food and service. I may even dispute the whole bill.Food was literally just okay.
Be the first to ReplyDo you want to experience a restaurant with the rudest
Do you want to experience a restaurant with the rudest manager imaginable ? Meaning world class even other worldly (intergalactic) rude. If so get here as quickly as you can. So here it is , my Valentines Day tale of woe but with a happy ending at another restaurant. Do you object to overpriced prix fixe dinners with limited menus on "holidays"? . I do which is why I searched through numerous restaurants on Open Table and Resy before choosing Felidia which did not note that they would have a prix fixe dinner. At least until my wife and I arrived and was presented with the dreaded hideously overpriced limited menu. When I pointed out that in contrast to every other restaurant Felidia did not provide notice of this. the manager became argumentative and told me the menu was posted. I then pulled up the Open Table entry and showed him that this information was not posted. Rather than expressing regret or even acknowledging the situation, the manager walked me through a several step process that would have led me to the details of the prix fixe meal if I had scrolled to the very bottom of the screen to the menu tab , clicked for a new screen then scrolled six boxes to the right to find a Valentines Day tab which when clicked now revealed the menu. The manager was so dismissive and rude that we decided to leave. I asked him to refund the money we pre-paid and he agreed. When I suggested he might want to keep a look out for my Yelp review he then refused to refund the prepaid amount saying that he would not do so because I told him to look for my review (I am disputing the charge) . I later learned that he also notified Open Table that we had not appeared for our reservation. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food on this occasion but previously found it to be good, but not great or even very good . There is however no meal so epic that one should have to experience conduct this inappropriate. Oh by the way, it wasn't a totalloss , we got a table at Scalinatella , subject of another review, and it was fabulous. Soskip Felodia and walk three blocks to a restaurant with great food , wonderful service and a pleasant convivial atmosphere.
