Francie Reviews from The Last Year
I've never done a yelp review but i've been sitting on this
I've never done a yelp review but i've been sitting on this one for a while but feel like I should say something since they have a Michelin star and charge so much. The clams were rancid (we had food poisoning for two days) and the duck was overcooked/dry. Service was fine and the ambiance is cool, but the food was beyond disappointing. Sorry!!

Came here with friends to enjoy after finishing work and it was great from start to finish. Will definitely be back again!
Amazing! This was all delicious.
The service is very good. We enjoyed the place, it was quiete and good.

Discovered a new favorite! You come for the crazy dry aged duck, and you are left impressed by so much more. From the bread and sunflower seed butter to the market salad to the pasta (conchiglie shown) to the duck with whipped parsnip, everything was so full of flavor and texture! The waiter gave the best recommendation and the wine paired perfectly with our food!
The building has a certain grandeur with "Francie" branded
The building has a certain grandeur with "Francie" branded across the front, they were accommodating with us traveling with a kid and kindly made adjustments. We were happy to be offered the booth seat it was a great view of the dining room and the brightly lit kitchen. We started with some cocktail and I had a white wine from Aligote but it wasnt impressive for $27 a glass. The appetizer canele wiith foie gras was good, Sweet Corn Bomboloni. summer truffle, parmesan fonduta, pancetta pepato was also good but the acid in the cucumber with Smoked Eel, Buttermilk, Buckwheat was a bit too much could be toned down. The pasta with clam and bacon was delicious loved it. The somm recommended this mineral forward red which was really good and we were happy with it. The duck was most impressive I would say the main reason I dragged the whole family there!! It didnt disappoint it was served quickly despite some reviews. The jus was delicious with each slice of the duck. There was a lot of duck left and we had to take it home. Overall the service was great and we were so full we were sad to decline the dessert!! Lastly the sunset on the bridge was amazing after rain.
Often a Michelin starred restaurant experience can place
Often a Michelin starred restaurant experience can place the customer at arm's length. The experience here is a total opposite with a welcoming atmosphere, excellent cocktails, and an amazing menu. The signature duck crown is a flavorful aged duck breast, but there is so much more on the menu that must be tried. Agnoloti with pork, Lobster ravioli and spring lamb each offer a glimpse into a savory dish. The cocktails are crafted with great balance. The team executes flawlessly while embracing the customer with friendly banter. A must!
Very good food, and attentive service, the only complaint
Very good food, and attentive service, the only complaint that came up from my dining partner was that the lamb was a smaller portion but honestly it's Michelin dining, so not unexpected. I think he was only surprised because I was warned my pasta dish was a smaller portion but he was not warned his lamb was - we took the hint about my dish and had enough appetizers to be full though! My bucatini was amazing.

4.5 stars, but close to 5. Despite sitting at the bar, vibes were really good. Bartender/server was chatty, but just the right amount. Unfortunately at the bar, you can't order the duck (although you can order the duck sausage, which was *chefs kiss*). The small bites were the biggest surprise. First impressions matter a lot, and these were so good that they made the rest of the meal that much better. Souffle cakes were sooo delicious. The Bombolini was also a highlight. Although pretty solid, the pastas were not as amazing as some other places I've had. The highlight was the seasonal corn pasta. The lemon sorbet was like art -- two very different textures that mixed well in flavor.
Four of us had dinner on a Monday night.
Place was full. Started with the Granny Smith apple martini. Perfect. Then we had the sweet corn bomboloni which was a surprising burst of flavor; delicious. The Bottoni pasta was as tasty as it was visually appealing. It was also a great dish to share. Got the dry aged crown of Rohan duck and now I am ruined forever. Absolutely the best duck I ever had. I will dream about it. I will return to get it again!!! Had the French fries with it too and they were the perfect crunch. The pina colada sundae was refreshing and I may copy that idea for a future dinner party. How cute is that locker type key with a duck in order to pick up your leftovers??
Been seeing so many pictures of the dry aged duck on my
Been seeing so many pictures of the dry aged duck on my feed, I had to make a reservation for my partners birthday (he loves duck). We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation time but they were able to seat us immediately. Two of us shared the souffle cakes, duck chorizo, conchiglie pasta and of course the duck. Souffle cakes were so warm and fluffy, served with a side of seaweed butter and caviar. Duck chorizo was so flavorful and paired deliciously with the topped fresh veggies. This was a crowd favorite, we devoured every last piece! Conchiglie (aka my favorite dish of the night) was creamy goodness. Although the portion was smaller than expected, it was probably for the best since the star of the show had yet to arrive. Our waiter brought out the duck, displayed on a tray with beautiful florals. Once everyone had their pictures, they brought it back to the kitchen to have it carved. They returned with the carved duck and three sides that came with it. Duck was juicy with the right amount of crispiness. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the duck paired with the sides. It felt very comforting, but also very delicate. Topped off the meal with a scoop of their homemade ice cream.
Superb food and excellent service made this a night to remember.
We were looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary and a friend told us about this place. We took a shot and, boy, we're glad we did! This is a handsome place with a bar to the right as you walk in. We were greeted quickly, they even remembered it was an anniversary, as I had mentioned to get the reservation. We were shown to our table quickly and menus were presented. We ordered champagne, a very nice rose, and toasted ourselves. One of the managers even took our picture, very accommodating place. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, all of which were so good, we even doubled down & ordered another of the Fois gras filled one, all of them delicious. We both love duck, so we ordered their famous crown roast of duck, which came with several sides. OMG, we devoured that bird, and every bite was heaven. A friend knew we were coming here and called the restaurant and ordered a Margaux wine, Chateau du Tertre, 2012, for us and it was exceptional. (Thankfully, we took car service to and from and didn't have to drive, as we just about knocked off that sublime wine) We thoroughly enjoyed that meal and are still talking about it. Our server, Marco, was a very friendly, helpful guy and explained many of the menu items. Service throughout the meal was exceptional and much appreciated. We wrapped up with dessert and talked about coming back and taking some friends. This place is a winner!!!!
Came here 2/16/2024.
I thought Francie was great, well-deserving of its one star. Somethings I didn't like in the food but it's personal preference. Food: Razor clams were incredibly funky and honestly a bit repugnant. I would avoid. It left a heavy seafood funk all over your palate. Ravioli was elegant and delicious. Pappardelle was a particular standout with heavy-hitting umami that is incredibly hard to achieve in a meat sauce. Conchiglie was too salty. The duck was expensive for what it was but presentation was incredible. Service: Service was well coordinated and synchronized. Waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Ambiance: Can't be beat. Ideal Brooklyn vibes and bustle. TLDR: Papparadelle and duck are pretty good. Try more apps and don't go family style. Portions are small.
Duck was really good.
I honestly think this is a good bang for your buck. Others idk. I ordered a salad, and it was so tiny. I finished it in two bites. Service is a bit curt and I'd say rude at times... we get it. You work at a Michelin star restaurant, but please do away with the rudeness and coldness.
Great restaurant for seafood, pasta, and duck.
Had a few well made Old Fashioned's. Oysters and prawns for appetizers, the crab pasta and one of their special pastas, and the roast duck. All were fantastic and the service was excellent. The manager even came by and threw in a mushroom pasta on the house. Great, lively ambience. Definitely recommend.
After reading all the 5 star reviews for Francie, I can't
After reading all the 5 star reviews for Francie, I can't help but feel disappointed after my own personal experience. We came on a Monday night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Ambience was okay -- cozy and dimly lit, nothing too special. I ordered the Francie Sour cocktail, which was .. almost bad. It was super watered down. When this was brought up to our server, she apologetically offered me different drink free of charge. I really did enjoy the souffle cakes with seaweed butter, meyer lemon and caviar. The texture was very soft and fluffy. The conchiglie pasta was amazing. The clams, bacon, white sesame pangrattato worked perfectly well together. The biggest disappointment of the night was their famous duck. Presentation was aesthetically pleasing enough. The chef presented the duck to us on a bed of flowers. I thought he would cut it table side, but he took it back to the kitchen to cut then brought it back out on a plate. He then proceeded to explain the dish then abruptly stopped and had the server take over. Service was a little weird, almost uncomfortable. It was like a surface level nice. For a Michelin-starred establishment, I expected more. The duck itself was a bit boring, not crispy enough. I liked the parsnip pairing. I think this dish would be great for people who don't regularly eat duck. Overall, it was just okay. Get the souffle cakes and conchiglie pasta if you go.
Wow - what an experience.
This is a quality experience from start to finish. It was packed on our visit and quite loud so be prepared for vibrant conversations all around. We decided to go family style and had the carpaccio, bucatini and dry aged duck. Each dish was outstanding in their own way. The carpaccio was tender, flavorful and delicate - just amazing! The bucatini was just perfect with great herb flavor and a beautiful sauce. I was skeptical about the duck but am glad we got it. The presentation shown in pictures is exactly what we experienced. It was cooked very well had amazing flavor and was rich and meaty. If you're feeling adventurous, definitely try it. For dessert we shared the apple tart that was better than expected (I prefer chocolate desserts).
Five stars.
Absolute perfection Ambience: dark , sexy, wood panel with open view of kitchen at the back. Perfect for date night, celebrations, girls/ guys night. Reservations are a must. Service: impeccable from front of the house to servers. The maitre d'iva (love it) made you feel welcomed from the start. Everyone was attentive, knowledgeable and the water glasses were never empty. Food: - i loved the bomboloni- high end savory donut bombs. It is a must get - my family loved the foie gras canale -oysters were good but overshadowed by above. - entrees the duck is worth the hype. I'm not a big fan of duck, but this duck was amazing with the accompanied side dishes perfectly complemented the duck. If they bring out the duck (genius for social media posts) and then cut it for you and serve it a few minutes later. we loved it and for two people we had plenty for leftovers. - apple tatin was very good - drinks were excellent (sidecar was great). Overall, we had a lovely time and can't wait to go back
Probably more of a 4.
5 but I rounded up. Overall had a lovely dinner experience. Service was really attentive without being pushy. Cocktails are definitely very pricey but well made-- instead of trying to hide the alcohol taste, they highlight and complement it instead. Soufflé cakes were a nice mixture of sweet and savory, caviar added a burst of umami. Duck was one of the most beautifully presented dishes I've seen and indeed very well cooked. Skin perfectly crispy and meat juicy on the inside. I will say, the way the cut the duck makes it cool really quickly but that can't be helped. Not sure if it was better than the duck I've had at other high end restaurants but I really enjoyed it all the same. The mashed parsnips side dish was delicious, was less a fan of the accompanying greens.
Clearly, one comes for the roast duck and we were not
Clearly, one comes for the roast duck and we were not disappointed. The starters include the soufflé and bomboloni which were both excellent. We next had the pastas - rigatoni with sausage was perfectly spiced and hearty, and the pappardelle simply delicious! The cocktails were mixed well. And finally the service was great we felt well taken care of. We will be returning and that's for sure!
Ahhhh Francie, still dreaming about the epic Friendsgiving
Ahhhh Francie, still dreaming about the epic Friendsgiving meal I had in late November. The presentation of the shellfish trio (oyster/clam/shrimp) was exquisite, and the clam's horseradish parsley sauce was an inventive and memorable touch. Carpaccio and souffle cakes were revelatory, both transport you to another world with that first bite! Conchigle was the sleeper, which we ordered at the suggestion of the waiter. I preferred it to the lobster ravioli. Dry Aged Duck was gorgeous, although I didn't love it as much as I thought I would, same with Roman Sourdough. But yall, don't sleep on that cheese cart! It was bananas. The perfect way to end an indulgent meal. Let your waiter be your guide - we chose four, and he chose the fifth, which blew the doors of perception open to a new level. I think we had a sorbet type thing as well at the end, but I was too stuffed to participate. Best meal of 2023. Thanks, Francie, can't wait to visit again.
Where do I begin: One of The Best Meals I had in Years,
Where do I begin: One of The Best Meals I had in Years, Thanks to Chef Cipollone - Outstanding!! From the minute we walked in , hostesses and owner at the front to welcoming us, to a great seat facing the open kitchen. We started with cocktails that were right on spot. I had a Buffalo Trace Manhattan, Wifey had her usual Tito's and Ginger Ale no fruit and got them right. Next came wine, we ordered the Ridge Estate Cabernet 2020 to go with our starters. We ordered a couple (snacks), and the kitchen sent out surprises as well....All outstanding: soufflé cakes, foie gras canele, duck mortadella. Next we had Spanish duck chorizo, Wife had salad, also superb. I remembered another dish that came which was so earthy; pumpkins with truffle, it had outstanding flavors, highly recommend. We decided to try a pasta and it delivered, the agnolotti with a cream sauce filled with a parsley and celery root filling..ummm. The kitchen was nice ended and sent out another pasta; ravioli with lobster and a lobster American sauce...hitting every note of deliciousness. With the mains about to come we order another Cabernet, Bella Union from Napa Valley 2018. Entrees exceeded expectations, I had the Halibut and Wifey had the Porchetini. What can I say but delicious, I'm sure I'm missing a course here and there, but all I can say is a huge thank you to Chef, his crew and waitstaff for an unforgettable night. I will be returning as soon as I get the chance. I totally recommend this establishment, definitely a jewel.
Good
Have been waiting to eat here for a long time, finally made it to NYC and had a delicious meal. The breads and appetizers were good, as were the pastas, even though the amatriciana was a bit heavy on the pepper heat. The Crown of Duck, couldn't wait to try, looks as good in person as the photos on the website. Yes it is good, but wasn't the best duck we had on this trip. The desserts were okay. Sticky toffee cake wasn't as good as many other places I've eaten it at for the past 15 years. The pumpkin creme brulee? Stick to traditional flavors next try. Take home lesson here? Kinda disappointed. Food: 4

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
