Frenchie Paris Reviews from The Last Year
What a Night!
Enjoyed this experience immensely! Different to anything we’ve done before but appreciated the opportunity and experience. Food was top notch (we got pigeon for the main course but were open minded to the culinary experience and really enjoyed it all) and the staff and service were outstanding! I wud do it again in a heatbeat!
Good food in a casual atmosphere.
Located in a quieter street where other Frenchie businesses are located(Frenchie Bar is across the street, Frenchie wine shop and Frenchie Italian restaurant is down the street). The restaurant is small, probably with less than 20 seats inside (excluding the chef's bar seats). Ambiance was upscale French farm house and diners wore smart casual attire. All the service staff spoke English. Food was good and wines by the glass were reasonably priced. The chef came to only certain tables (obviously not ours). I was surprised by the extra tip line when we received the bill as we had not seen this in any other restaurant in Paris (or Spain). We felt compelled to give extra (yes, that is our decision).
I have wanted to go to Frenchie for years.
I finally snagged a reservation and this was the #1 restaurant I was the most excited to visit. We only ate at Michelin restaurants for the 11 days we were there and as the days went on, this one went farther down the list. Unfortunately for us, it offers just an OK experience. While the ambiance is charming and the service is generally attentive, the food falls short of expectations. We were rushed in and rushed out with no time to linger. The menu lacks creativity and the execution of dishes is inconsistent. Some items were enjoyable, but others are underwhelming or downright inedible. My daughter and I couldn't even finish the kiwi desert. Additionally, the prices are steep considering the overall experience. Overall, Frenchie is an okay choice for a meal in Paris, but there are way better options available in the city and I will never be back.
No more than average

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant and my review
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant and my review may be an unpopular opinion but wanted to share to help guide others when deciding between the numerous dining options while in Paris. (This was our first dinner when we landed in Paris.) First, the food - the execution on some of the dishes were a miss. I abide by the 3 strikes rule of thumb when visiting a "fine dining" restaurant, and this restaurant struck out. Strike 1 - there was a tendril of hair in my partner's first dish (my partner didn't mind - it was very small and relatively on the outer sauced portion of the dish and we didn't bring it to our server's attention). Strike 2 - there was a bone in my partner's fish dish. Again, a minor blip and we didn't mention it to our server. Strike 3 - in the same fish dish in which there was a bone missed on my partner's plate, parts of my fish were undercooked or raw. This we did bring to our server's attention, and she said it was supposed to be cooked this way. (Photo included.) That being said, all of the dishes were delicious. The service was friendly and serviceable. However, there was a rather awkward moment at the end of our meal when it came to pay which put a damper on an already underwhelming experience. While handing us the electronic tablet to pay, the server let us know that, while tip was not expected and we were not obligated, we had the option of leaving a tip. The server then stood by as we selected an option. From my recollection, the options on the tablet ranged in percentages, e.g., 10, 15, etc. Our understanding was that France already has a 15% service charge bill built into the restaurant prices - btw, we did leave a tip - and this was confirmed by the subsequent restaurants we went to. (FYI, none of the other restaurants we visited had a tip option on their tablets - and one 3-starred Michelin restaurant we went to subsequently confirmed that no French restaurant should ask for a tip because service charge is built in.) When we went during dinner service, all the tables / customers were American, so I can't say whether tip is only asked of from non-natives. It could be that we visited on an off night. But there's no shortage of great restaurants in Paris and based on our first visit here, I think trying out another restaurant in this price range would be a more enjoyable dining experience.
IF you happen to be traveling to Paris, do yourself the
IF you happen to be traveling to Paris, do yourself the biggest favor and reserve a seat at Frenchie. Reservations are a must as it books quickly, so get one once it becomes available. The restaurant itself is small and intimate with staff readily available, present and there for whatever you may need. With each dish, they explain exactly what you'll be eating, how it is prepared, and even thought behind the dish Speaking of the dishes, there is no set menu, so you won't know what you're getting prior to arrival. You won't even know when you're sitting down. You aren't able to order individual items, it is a pre-fixe menu determined by the chef on that day, so each day may be a completely different meal. You'll know what you're eating when it arrives at the table and the server explains it to you. Rest assured, each dish is well thought out, from the textures on each bite to the flavor profiles melding together in your mouth. Even the difference in temperature of different items on the plate pairing together in the mouth and how that plays it with the complexity of each bite. It's just so very good, something to savor with each course. Such a wonderful meal, phenomenal chef and amazing experience. Definitely a must try when in Paris

We came here for a date night while we were in Paris, and had an absolutely amazing dinner. As you probably know, this is a pre fixe only restaurant, but they have across the street an area where you can get wine and snacks. We did the main restaurant, the prefix menu. It is a five course meal with an additional two or three courses that are not counted as part of the five. You can do a basic wine pairing for €70 or an elite wine pairing for 115. We opted for the higher level and we did not regret it. The meal itself was €140 per person, and honestly was worth every penny. The five courses were a scallop dish, a vegetable ravioli, a skate fish, a rabbit, and a kiwi dessert. The service, as you can, imagine, was absolutely stellar. The staff were kind, spoke perfect English, and super helpful. The entire meal took just over two hours and was absolutely an incredibly enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this for a nice dinner out if you are in Paris.

Excellent food and service! This was one of our high points while in Paris. The staff made our visit extra special!
Let's all say it together.
The service and food are amazing. We were treated to a spectacular meal during our stay in Paris. I can't say enough about how well-prepared each dish was! The wine pairing was spot on too! Don't waste your time looking at "additional" options. You simply must get a reservation and treat yourself to a delicious experience! The space allows for plenty of room to have a wonderful dining experience. Don't hesitate... make the booking a soon a you can!!! Thank you to the wonderful front-of-the-house staff!
Speechless
Never ever had meal like this before Transformative Spectacular restaurant If you’ve eaten here, you e had THAT meal in Paris.
Exquisite
Friends who had visited Paris earlier in the year recommended this restaurant and we went to celebrate my mother in law's birthday and had the most exquisite meal. Everything we tried was so delicious and the service was of the same high standard as the food - very attentive and helpful. The wine our waiter recommended was a perfect pairing for our meal.

David's pastries and croissants hold up to anything I've had in France or Italy. His cold brew is so good I drink it Year round.
The food and service were good.
No huge complaint. Not the worst meal I have had abd the best. I would give it 4.5 stars if I had that option.
Réservations are a MUST! We booked 3 weeks to the day
Réservations are a MUST! We booked 3 weeks to the day when that day was opened. Had the second seating so we went across the street for a couple of glasses of champagne before we were seated. The tasting menu rotates seasonally so I wont go into the dishes but each dish was prepared superbly. We did the accompanying wine pairs and it was all excellent. Definitely fine dining with a bit more casual atmosphere. This was our favorite dinner of the trip.
Really nice ambience.
. nice, casual, yet upscale feel. We sat at the bar so could see all of the intricate food prep! All of the dishes were beautifully presented & tasted great. They even offered gluten free bread to my friend who has a gluten intolerance. Great service, great food, great ambience.. what more do you need?! To get a reservation you need to be on their site right at 10 am (Paris time) 3 weeks in advance.
Unique and amazing
We dined at Frenchie for the chef’s tasting paired with the premium wine selections. There are two seatings per evening, and we were there for the first. Reservations are not easy to get, and the price is fairly steep. However, the experience was very memorable and a highlight of our trip to Paris. The restaurant’s decor is simple, not at all “fancy,” but comfortable. Our table gave us a partial view into the kitchen. I must say part of the enjoyment of dining here is watching how the well the chefs work together—it’s like watching a well choreographed performance. While very busy, all chefs seemed calm and in command of their duties. The food is unique and delicious, consisting of multiple courses that are well described by the server. While each course seems deceptively light, by the time the meal is over, you’re stuffed. My only comment is that because there are multiple courses and limited time per seating, there were a few times I felt a bit rushed (for instance, not finished with one glass of wine before the next selection was poured). The food was superior to the wine served, which was only average considering the price of the premium pairing. Nonetheless, I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy fine innovative dining.
Elevated French Food that Hit the Spot!
The venue is small and intimate. Not very charming—their wine bar across the alley has more of a vibe. But the food was fantastic. It was supposed to be 5 courses, but with all the little extras, it actually turns out to be 2 courses. Each dish was beautifully presented and most had different components. They poured sauces onto our dishes at the table, which was nice. The meal was worth the price tag of $140 Euro. We ate seafood, lobster tail, and duck. The selection was spot on and the flavors matched all of my usual favorites. The matcha dessert was heaven. I love matcha. The meal was elevated and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough. It’s still on my mind! Pictures on my insta @loveinmybelly.
American heavy, but good food
Like a west village NYC Resturant, but in Paris. If you want to dine with what seemed to be exclusively Americans, then Frenchie is a good spot. That said, the food is pretty good, the service was at least for us friendly but also very absent at times, our issue is that it is a very American Resturant that reminded us of the places we often go in NYC. If you have limited time in the city, and you want to dine in more authentic Paris surroundings, then look elsewhere.

I don't like make reviews on places that I don't like but you have to post the good with the bad. And unfortunately this was not good. Walking in the strong smell of cheese was unpleasant to the senses. Which should have been enough for our group to walk out but we attempted the food anyway. The onion tart was the only decent meal on the table. Everyone was so disappointed I didn't even take photos. The steak wasn't good, the potato pancakes were soft and mushy and the chicken cordon blue was cover in the unpleasant smelling cheese which also did not taste good. Our server was pleasant but had no insight into the disappointment the entire table was experiencing.

Made a reservation online about three weeks out and came for dinner in August 2023. Won't go too much into detail because the menu rotates, but the 5-course tasting was excellent - everything was super creative, flavorful and fun. A standout was the rosemary sorbet interlude, as well as the chicken course. Service was great, but didn't love that they started herding us out of there the second dessert hit the table so they could prepare for the next seating (we were part of the earlier one). We headed across the street to their wine bar where we happily kept the night going, but the end of the tasting was definitely a little abrupt. 4.5 stars.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
