Super Sushi Surprise!
My bride & I stopped in for lunch on a weekday afternoon, and saw a large restaurant with twelve hibachi grill tables, and at least a dozen more booths and tables in the sushi bar... and NO other customers. We chose seating for two at the sushi prep counter. We thought to ourselves "Uh-Oh! We may regret this selection." -- but pressed ahead anyway. BOY OH BOY, are we glad we did. The attached photo shows the beautiful array of items we ordered, and they were all among the best we've had anywhere - including Hapi, Sushi Den, and other Denver-area legends. The star of the show was our Unagi roll with avocado (instead of cucumber) in the middle; absolutely stunning. Spider roll, saba (mackerel) and ama ebi (sweet shrimp) were all fantastic as well - so fresh! Even the seaweed salad was better than most places we've had it. Our chef and the waitress were perfectly accommodating (of course, they only had two patrons to wait on, but still...) We received just the right balance of attention and privacy to enjoy our meal. Having discovered this gem, I now want to return to give the hibachi a try as well. Don't let the shopping-center location fool you; this place has world-class sushi, AND Sapporo Ichiban ON TAP. ;-)
Be the first to ReplyTerrible food, WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! We went about 2 weeks ago. When we were first sat, we ordered drinks right away...waited 25 minutes for them. My husband and I both ordered the filet and lobster along with another gentleman at the table who ordered a filet. The chef cooked 2 filets and split it between the 3 of us...why are we paying full price when we arenโt getting a full steak? It gets worse though...We asked the chef for garlic butter on our lobsters which he obliged, he then however doused them in soy sauce directly after. Please be aware they douse EVERYTHING in soy sauce and do not ask you if you want it or not. We told him that we did not want soy sauce on the lobsters and we would not eat it. He then immediately ordered 2 new lobsters to the table and cooked them the way we had originally asked for. Then we get the bill...hahahahahaha! It has 2 full filet and lobster meals and 2 additional lobster tails added. I tell the waitress this is not correct then the manager comes over and CONFRONTS me VERY RUDELY telling me that I ordered 4 lobster tails and needed to pay for them. She then asks me if I gave the 2 original lobsters back to the chef! I opened up the boxes we had and took EVERY piece of disgusting lobster out and told her she could have them and that I could not believe they were trying to charge us for something they messed up. She then proceeded to tell me that she was going to make the chef pay for the lobsters even though she said that they ALWAYS put soy sauce on everything! So they make the chef pay for something that is their policy!!!!! She also never addressed why they only cooked 2 filets when 3 people at the table ordered them!!! The food is not worth the price and the customer service is even worse! I feel bad for their employees! Please go elsewhere with your hard earned money! I will be posting this review EVERYWHERE that I can so people know what crooks they are and how they treat their customers and employees!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, poor management
I made reservations for hibachi on a Sunday evening at 5:30. We arrived on time and were told to wait at the bar while they set our table up. That was fine by us. The bar was packed...and no one had a drink in hand. There was no bartender, come to find out. Someone in management came after 15 minutes (at least) and asked what we all wanted. Everyone at the bar was irritated with the lack of service. We waited another 10-15 minutes to be seated. 30 minutes after arriving(with a reservation), we were seated. The hibachi service was excellent. The food was great! We had the steak and scallops and it was cooked very well. The hibachi chef put on a fun show. We were very lucky. the table next to us, whom some of the people had arrived at the restaurant before we did, were STILL waiting to get their chef as we were LEAVING! The people at the table were visibly upset and had probably been waiting 45mins or more after being seated. We felt very badly for them. Overall, the food was excellent, our cocktails were great, BUT the lack of good management was evident. Itโs a crap shoot on if you will get good and timely service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Hibachi experience
I was in town for business and this restaurant is located near the hotel I stayed at. Went in on a Monday night and they had a pretty good crowd. Hibachi need at least 2 people at the table and I was lucky that there was a table with a couple already sitting and just started. They added two more to our table before the chef arrived. The hibachi dinner includes onion soup and a salad with a great ginger dressing. I had a main stay chicken and steak, but there were a wide range of combination. I ordered fried rice and the entire meal was delicious. The chef put on the usual great show, but we were a team of hibachi veterans so we did not need much entertainment. The place was hopping with 3 full tables going and at least 3 birthday celebrations. (my one complaint, and probably because it was not my birthday is that when they bring out the desert with the candle on it, they press a button and theme park like music plays with a version of a happy birthday song, laser lights....too flashy and too load, but to each their own.) Just so happened that on Monday nights, draft beer and the hot house sake are 2 for 1 (a pleasant surprise) Other people at the table ordered sushi as well. It looked good and the people said it was delicious. As we were the last table cooking, the chef finished our meals and then pulled out bowls of jalapeno peppers, tofu triangles, veggies and beef and made a stir fry (very big bowl) which I think was dinner for the staff. He offered all of us a sample and it was phenomenal - incredibly spicy and flavorful. If you are visiting Littleton area, this is a great place for good food
Be the first to ReplyGreat for birthday celebrations
We had a fantastic birthday dinner celebration tonight! Our chef was WONDERFUL with our kids. He not only did the food flinging (catch with your mouth) thing, but let my kids catch a lemon on his fork, and then even let them wear his chef hat to catch a bowl and then a lemon in it at the end. My kids will remember this birthday dinner for a long time to come!! Plus they do a scoop of ice cream and a birthday song plays to a laser light show. Super fun and celebratory. So glad we went there tonight. I highly recommend reservations tho.
Be the first to ReplyWalking out
We had reservations for 6 Sunday evening when we walk in we were told we had to wait a little bit so they get the table ready. There was another group of 5 in front of us that was told wait time. After 15 minutes went by they seated us and it took one hour for them just to bring us our drinks and soup and salad while the party of 5 with No Reservations what she did and was already having their meal we never really got a chance to taste the food but we felt the service was less than par and it was not busy that evening. After talking to the manager we decided to walk out and leave and that's why we are giving a very poor rating.
Be the first to ReplyGOOD FOOD BUT LACKS ATMOSPHERE
The meal was good but the atmosphere was more like a busy diner. To enjoy the elegance of Japanese food it is important to have the right surroundings and there was just too much going on to be able to relax and savor the food.
Be the first to ReplyBad Food.
7 of our family members went there to enjoy and celebrate our grandson's 11 th birthday. Crowded us into one table with 3 other people and across from us was a very loud and boisterous party of 12. Our meal was prepared by a nice gentleman but not very friendly or entertaining. He used an abundance of oil and butter on every food. Our food was served piece meal and not a complete main dish. They worst part was that with an hour, two of the men got sick and a few hours later three more of us got sick also. Very intense gastro pains followed by vomiting and diarrhea. My grandson was hit the hardest and was sick into the negative and the next day. I called the next morning and was told by a manger that there was no compensation and we should go to an ER. Was not apologetic or offered anything and was not taking any responsibility! We will not be eating here again.
Be the first to ReplyFun evening!
Our group of four recently had dinner at Fujiyama at the hibachi grill. Our server was very entertaining, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fun. There is plenty of free parking available. Popular with families with children, too.
Be the first to ReplySo good our 9 year granddaughter wants to go back
This is actually what we expected from a Hibachi restaurant. The service is very good and the show was so entertaining. It is so much fun, and our granddaughter loves it, including the food. It did take us a bit to decide what we wanted to eat, so I recommend looking at the menu online (Hibachi is lower down on the menu) ahead of time. We had so much food, we were able to bring home enough for another meal. The chicken and the beef were cooked perfectly. Yummy! I recommend reservations as you are sitting at a table of eight and they need to organize the seating.
Be the first to ReplySushi is okay
Not the best not the worst. Sushi is ordinary. Staff was friendly and provided good service. Really wish they would improve the quality of the sushi. For the price there are better options sadly.
