It has been a year since I have been here, and we went back last Friday night and appreciated that the restaurant completely remodeled its service model by giving you paper menus and a dedicated server. The food was great, service was excellent and on par with what you expect when there is an automatic tip. Look forward to coming back.

A well rounded experience at another great restaurant in the mission! This place is perfect for large groups and birthdays. Super lively atmosphere -- it does get a bit loud but the music is upbeat + modern, and the interior design is colorful and quirky. There's a bar and partially open kitchen concept, as well as general indoor and outdoor seating. Came here on a saturday night and got seated right away. The staff was very friendly and helped us choose from their selection of food options. everything was made family style so it was great to share and try a variety of different dishes. We ordered 5 dishes between 2 people: - crying tiger shrimp: this was amazing. the shrimp was well seasoned and the coconut cream provided a subtle layer of sweetness. lots of acidity with a slight kick to the dish. this was one of my favorites. - beef carpaccio: so good. the sweetness of the watermelon radish and pig ear on top added such a great pairing to the thin slices of beef, which we wrapped the greens with. there was a slight spice kick and it was quite acidic as well. oddly enough, it had very similar flavors to the crying tiger shrimp so it was almost hard to taste the difference between the two. - good good chicken wing: the wing had a great batter that made it very crispy and the orange glaze was very prominent. I'm not the biggest fan of very sweet dishes for my main meals but this was still quite good. stuffing inside the wing was soft and added a nice balance to the crispiness of the batter. - grilled oyster mushroom: very strong east asian flavors, noticeable garlic and soy flavor. it was good but nothing too crazy and something that I've tasted before. - pork jowl: smoky flavor and very fatty, but not as tender as I expected? definitely a bit chewier. the nuts on top added a nice crunch and the green grapes provided a sweetness that contrasted with the savoriness of the pork, but the sweetness of the grapes didn't come through as much. The food came in well spaced out phases so I didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed. Loved how there was a variety of hot and cold plates. Didn't order any drinks but would love to come back and try their drinks and other dishes on their menu!

Came here with a really large group, about 15 people, it was great for a big group because the only thing you have to individually order is your drinks. There was no trying to figure out how much food to order or apps to share. The table they gave us was also more than enough room for our party size. It was lively but not too loud of an ambiance. The staff was so friendly and accepting of our group. They even humored us in lighting the candles and singing happy birthday for our birthday king The cocktails were all so amazing! So much flavor and cute presentations. I will say that mine came with the small ice so it got diluted really fast. But I did appreciate the metal straw. The food was excellent. Everything had a unique flavor. My favorite was the shrimp with cabbage salad and raw jalapeño. So spicy and fresh. I don't eat pork or red meat so I couldn't eat two of the entrees which means I was a little hungry after the meal. Not a huge deal but wouldn't come back here on my own for those dietary restrictive reasons. Not that they wouldn't accommodate a restriction but I think a person who enjoys pork and red meat would be able to fully appreciate this meal, the steak was a lot of peoples favorite! Would highly recommend for a big group!
Be the first to ReplyOverall, food was top notch.
In the approximate order they arrived: The lao style snack plate was ok, if you like chicharrones and crudite, it's not bad. lion's roar was probably the most interesting cocktail I've tried. The bell pepper syrup really comes through, it was like drinking a salad in the best way possible. If that sounds at all interesting, try it for yourself. The yu choy salad was a surprise as it might have been our favorite dish. The soy brown butter dressing was absolutely wonderful. The beef carpaccio was pretty good, balanced by the endive and watermelon, with really good texture from the crispy pig ear. The jewelry rice was just ok. It's cooked like suman if you've had it and served like java rice, but I wouldn't get it again when we come back. The pork jowl was love at first bite, some of the best Filipino BBQ I've had. Service was really great, our server was very considerate to keep in mind my seafood allergy and triple-checked with me what is an acceptable amount of seafood in the ingredients. Ambiance was vibrant, we were seated at the counter watching the kitchen at work. Holding a conversation was a little difficult, but far from impossible. Really wish the restroom wasn't at the of the stairs, but it couldn't be helped, I suppose. Amazing for a date night or a night our with friends, and would come back in a heartbeat.

My friends took me here and I was so impressed by everything. Definitely make a reservation because even on a weeknight they're popping. The highlight was probably the dungeness crab dumplings and good good chicken wing AND the halo ha-loa. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Must check it out!

What a lively and fun atmosphere! All the staff are friendly and ready to recommend their favorite dishes. We came for an early dinner on Friday night was able to get seated inside at 5:45. Of all the dishes we tried I would say the pork jowel, crying tiger shrimp salad and the lao sausage were truly standout and warrants a visit back. The jowel had a gorgeous char and was so tender. While the crying shrimp salad was both refreshing and a little painful, when they say kick they mean more like drop kick to your taste buds but nothing a sip of water can't quell. This dish really showed off the balance of acidity, spice, and a little sweetness. The Lao sausage was juicy and had a unique flavor profile it wasn't overly sweet like a Cantonese sausage as I was expecting. Now for the slightly less WOW items. The stuffed wings I would say were just alright, the stuffing was similar to an egg roll but was lacking that signature crunch. The orange sauce was more orangey and less sweet than I expected. In my mind I was envisioning a sticky sweet sauce. The green curry had a good amount of toppings but the flavor didn't live up to the other dishes. I would say it was a bit mild and tame for a curry especially if you're enjoying it over rice which tones down the flavor. This is the perfect place to catch up with friends with a bottle of wine and the tapas style menu ensures you get to sample a good variety of the menu.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did. The food was really good, and the service was some of the best I've ever had. Our server was spot on with all of their recommendations - taking us through each menu item in detail. They also timed everything to come out right on time, not too soon, and not too late. The vibe is fun, especially out on the rooftop. My favorite items were the full fried fish and the crying tiger shrimp due to the complex and refreshing flavors.

Nice little date night spot. The wife and I had a lovely time, tasty food, definite recommend and would return
Be the first to ReplyLove the ambience and the food.
Bite size and shareable. Good for a casual dinner out with friends. Well seasoned. You order electronically and they bring it out as it becomes ready. Recommend the rooftop seating. I really enjoyed sitting outside with the heater. Parking is street parking.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great on a busy Saturday evening.
Our party is a group of big eaters. Happy to see they offered a low alcohol, orange wine. A great start with chicken wings, salads and beef carpaccio. Ordered the pork bun and then ordered a second round. It was so good. Entree was a beautiful fried fish. The fish was moist with a light and crispy breading. Finished with two desserts. Staff is busy yet attentive. I will be returning. I hate the QR code process and miss a true wait staff.
Be the first to ReplyFood 3; overall experience 2.
We really like Liholiho so we were excited to try this place. We discovered that we're not the demographic. Parking in the Mission for us is a pain vs hipsters who Uber there. The place is super loud, not only with patrons but also with blaring music. Ordering and payment is by QR code--the servers didn't do anything and tip is included in the bill. I support equity for the back of the house with a service charge, higher menu prices that include the service charge, or even robots to bring the food, but why are the servers who do nothing there? I came to spend time with my friends, not to pay to talk story with random people. The Chronicle wrote an article about how this place is a model for the broken restaurant system and they hire servers not by their experience, but because of their diversity. Oh, and the article also said Kokkari would never ask their patrons to order via QR code. Right on--I do love Kokkari. The food here was decent, but not amazing--it was expensive, and we're not the demographic. They don't need us and they're successful.
Be the first to ReplyOverall, a fun spot with a variety of Southeast Asian style
Overall, a fun spot with a variety of Southeast Asian style dishes and fusion dishes that are delicious and comforting. Food (4.5/5): I enjoyed most of the dishes we got, especially the pork belly, skirt steak, and beef carpaccio. The beef carpaccio was really unique with the topping/vegetables on top. Service (4/5): good service overall but one thing was it started raining slightly outside but they dont have any measures to deal with it but move people inside. Ambiance (4.5/5): very nice vibe, and the outside area has heating and nice tables/seats

Lives up to the hype! Lots of creative dishes with complex flavors. Several vegetarian options and the cocktails were deliciously unique and fun.
Be the first to ReplyWaiter spilled some water on my phone and didn't apologize.
I know he knew as he wiped up the water on the table next to my phone, not the water on my phone. I usually don't get upset at these things because I know it is usually an accident but, call me sensitive, I would have at least appreciated some sort of acknowledgement . I didn't complain as it was my friends birthday and I didn't want to bring down the mood. This restaurant doesn't require tip as they include a 20% surcharge to your bill in an effort to create a more equitable wage for their workers. Maybe that's why their workers don't care...

I've been wanting to come to Good Good Culture Club for quite a while now and I definitely understand the hype. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great but portions were small and expensive! Kalamansi Cooler: This drink was yummy and very tart which contrasted nicely to all the meat I ended up eating. Only complaint was that it was 80% ice lolChicken Wing: I think this is the dish they are most known for. It is a chicken wing stuffed with egg roll filling. The outside had a nice glaze and I loved the crunch. The egg roll stuffing was a cool concept but I thought it needed a bit more seasoning/flavor. Scallion Steam Bun: You must get this! It was amazing, the beef was super tender, kinda reminded me of brisket. The dish had the best flavor by far. Ribeye Steak: Really enjoyed this. This is technically an entree dish so the serving was very generous. The bean sprout/herb salad that came with was a perfect side. I think they could add a sauce to the steak and it would be perfect.

Be the first to Replycame here for valentine's day and had a great experience.
they really pay attention to detail and have great service :) got the crying tiger shrimp which had great flavor to start us offgood good chicken wing is a MUST get. i've never had stuffing inside a chicken wing before and it was so good short ribs flavor was perfect and the jewelry rice paired really nicely with the short ribs :) the jewelry rice flavor was pretty light even though it had corn, mushrooms and chili oil in it would definitely come back to try everything else on the menu :)
Be the first to ReplyWas very excited to come here.
The space is beautiful and the drinks were good. Food was overall good, but it didn't blow me away. We loved the crying tiger shrimp and the pork belly, but I thought the house made curry and the mushrooms were only ok. Worth a visit, but get friends to tell you the best order!

Come to Good Good Culture Club if you're looking for something different than your traditional dining experience. Their food is packed with flavor and the colorful atmosphere makes for a meal you won't forget. We had the scallion steamed buns, crying tiger shrimp salad, mom's lao sausage, and the crispy rice salad. Everything was delicious, and you probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely get the lao sausage, it was incredible. They also have a great selection of fun cocktails, make sure to try them out.
Be the first to ReplyLovely place that offers good food and drinks.
Food is innovative Asian fusion but more on the Asian side. We ordered 5 dishes including the salad, the chicken wing, pork bun, fish, curry... everything was good to great. The curry was a bit underwhelming as it was nothing special. Service was really good, and the atmosphere is super lively. Would come back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyThank you April, Millie, and Jaque for turning a sad
Thank you April, Millie, and Jaque for turning a sad situation, positive! I have been planning to celebrate my bridesmaids by treating them to dinner. I was in contact with the restaurant asking to bring flowers for the table and questions about table selection weeks in advance. Long story short, after all that, I make a reservation on the wrong day! I was mortified and stressed when I was initially told she couldn't help me, didn't have any more reservations on the day I needed, and couldn't walk in. I then went to their sister restaurant Liholiho where I met Millie. Although Liholiho also didn't hav any openings, she helped provide some options for my party to sit at the front bar section if we walked in. She even jotted our names down to remember and help us out the best she can. Thank you Millie for the hospitality and problem solving :) you were amazing. Both managers contacted the owner April who stepped in and went above and beyond to help me out knowing I just made a horrible mistake. Because of all the managers, I was able to make the day special for some of the most important women in my life. For that, I am so thankful! Overall, the night was amazing, the food was fantastic, and the vibes were high. Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and aloha spirit.

Super solid spot with unique Lao and Filipino flavor and texture combinations! Come with 4 people so you can try more options without breaking the bank. Highly recc the grilled oyster mushroom, crying tiger prawn salad, and crispy rice (and maybe the beef carpaccio if you're into that). Ambiance is vibrant without being too loud and chaotic, plates are aesthetic and a decent sharing size, service is active and attentive, and reservations can be made a few days in advance on ResyFood: - Crying tiger prawn salad - loved the contrasting flavors and the coconut/ lemongrass flavor worked really well - Crunchy rice - reminded me of Chinese clay pot and rice krispies with veggies that made it taste light. Super unique and loved the flavors. - Grilled Oyster Mushroom - very umami and the textures were good. Very unique and yummy - Pork belly - very delicious and well executed but not life changing. It tasted similar to the lemongrass pork chop rice plates you get. The grapes and pistachios were a nice texture touch - Beef carpaccio - at first I didn't think I'd like it but it was actually pretty good, also liked the dressing that came with the salad on top bc it helped balance out the flavor. - Good Good Chicken Wing - we got 3 of these (for 5 people) but honestly 2 could've been good enough since we just wanted to try it. For $9 it's not the cheapest for one wing, but it's stuffed with noodles and meat. It's tasty but our group wasn't a huge fan of the citrus glaze because it tasted too much like Chinese orange chicken (might've just been a personal preference though)Overall, my group was satisfied and filled after the meal and this made me want to try their sister restaurant Liholiho Yacht club!

Great mouthful with a subtle malti-ness. The garnishes with roasted rice really add another dimension. Great milk punch!
