Discriminatory restaurant
We were staying at the hotel and wanted to have dinner at this restaurant. I was denied access to the restaurant because of my medical condition
Be the first to ReplyA bit hyped. Asian fusion
A bit hyped. Asian fusion, and expensive for what it was. The whole duck was small. If I went to Flushing for a lacquered or Peking duck, I can get a bigger duck m ore flavorful for 1/3rd of the price. The spicy hamachi was literally 85% guacamole with small small pieces of hamachi, unrecognizable. The crab rice had jalapeno which felt misplaced. The side of white rice was just as satisfying. I'd rather eat in Flushing
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great Covid protocols.
My husband and I had dinner at Goosefeather last night on a whim. We were impressed to see that they have 100% of staff vaccinated and require patrons to be vaccinated as well. They also enforce masks when not at the table and this is the only place I've seen in months where all staff wore masks properly at all times. In between guests, they wipes the table with Clorox wipes instead of a questionable rag. They've won me over for life!
When we arrived it was drizzly and cold, so we didn't spend time exploring outside, but I'm eager to return on a sunny day and have drinks in the beautiful garden area. Inside, the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. We were seated promptly. Service was timely but not rushed. We ordered drinks: The Heisenberg and Last Horse on the Sand, and sparkling water. For food, we ordered the Sweet Corn (really good!), Dry Aged Beef Potstickers (I was more of a fan than my husband, though I didn't love the mustard accompaniment), the Wild Mushroom Slippery Noodle (both loved), and the Black Pepper Beef (was a little sweeter than we expected, but delicious). No room for dessert, but I'm excited to try next time! All this was $140 before tip.
Goosefeathers Outstandihng!
I attended a spectacular wedding brunch at Goosefeathers Restaurant in Tarrytown this past weekend. The food was outstanding and plentiful and the service impeccable. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Both inside the restaurant, and the porches and gardens outside, are comfortable and relaxing. Standouts were the shrimp buns, chicken wings, and scrambled eggs made perfectly, difficult to do for one, even more complicated for a crowd. I don't know exactly how they prepared their bacon, which was more like a sweet pork belly than your traditional breakfast fare, but this was the most delicious bacon I have ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of bacon. I have also had dinner there on several occasions and enjoyed that immensely. I highly recommend this restaurant!

It was very easy to make our reservations via Resy, and I felt reassured by the Covid safety measures in place.
We felt warmly welcomed and very well treated throughout the meal including surprises.
I'd been looking forward to this dinner for quite some time, and yet it even exceeded my expectations. To be more specific, we were intrigued by the idea of sharing an exciting variety of Hong Kong/ Cantonese dishes elevated to cuisine level. But every aspect of both the meal and the setting really contributed to both the joy and satisfaction in this unique dining experience.
A special, memorable night!
Very good, not generic Asian flavors but pricey
Staying at the Inn we decided to dine on-premises. The flavors of the three starters were very good but all three came out at the same time for some reason. The beef dish was tasty too. Misses... Wine prices are just to high to justifying anything. As we had a bottle of wine in our room, we asked about corking fee. This was offensive at $50 while the normal fee is usually $25. Lastly, I found it ridiculous to tell us that each dish had a .50 extra charge that went to the non-server staff. I found this ridiculous because they are charging you $30.50 for a noodle dish that is over priced. If they cannot pay their staff well on a $30 noodle dish the place has problems. I would have just preferred they charged the .50 and not tell me. Drinks were $17 but tasty.

We love escaping the city for a night at Goosefeather - one of our favorite restaurants for incredible food and ambiance. Some personal favorite dishes are the slippery noodle, branzino and kung pao wings. The cocktails are also great & unique.
We also hosted our rehearsal dinner there this month and highly recommend having events at this venue. They were so easy to work with and all of our guests raved about the food, drinks and how beautiful the back patio/garden was with all of the fire pits. The team working was awesome at making everything run smoothly.
A spectacular return
Longtime fans of Goosefeather, we were sad to hear that they closed for the summer and excited to see them reopen. There were some new items on the menu that we thought we would try rather than repeat old favorites.
Our first two dishes, the Heirloom Tomato Salad and Summer Corn, were both spectacular and revelatory. The berries, mint, and bizarrely enough boba transformed the tomato salad into something magical. Similarly, the summer corn was turned into the base for an amazing veggie dish by spices, brown butter, and excellent technique.
The Shrimp Bao Bun was quite delicious...but merely that. I wouldn't put it particularly above or below their 'wheelhouse' dishes like the potstickers. The disappointment of the day was the Hamachi Tartare. We expected thin slices of Hamachi accented by the other bits listed on the menu but it turned out to be a cross between an avocado salad and Lomi Lomi tuna. It wasn't bad...but it wasn't particularly good either.
They had new drinks as well which we sampled. The Angel City was spectacular and had that perfect balance of sweet, sour, and alcohol Goosefeather is known for. The West Meadow Sipper was quite good as well but we found the Sunglasses and Advil a bit too 'medicinal' for our tastes. To each their own.
The service was as always exemplary. And the decor lovely.
For those that care, Goosefeather now requires their indoor guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The process was quick and simple - we used the NYC COVID SAFE app.
Great ambiance. Ridiculously overpriced, mediocre food
I've heard nonstop raving about how good this place is, so I've been looking for the chance to try it out. I now feel obligated to write this review in order to warn people that I honestly think these people are paid to advertise. I will say that the ambiance was fantastic. The inside decor was beautiful and the outside patio was great, not really fitting of asian cuisine though. We unfortunately were seated in a dark corner of the porch where we felt like a complete after thought. They could really do with some candles on the tables or something to light up the area. Our service was poor. We waited at least 15 minutes after being seated and eventually had to flag down a waiter. The food came out quickly, but we were again left waiting and waiting for service throughout. The food's presentation was wonderful, but the flavor was all lacking. We had 3 small plates (kale, chicken wings, pot stickers) and were very underwhelmed with all. We then had the crab fried rice and the shrimp and scallops- again mediocre. We were left with a $200 bill and wishing we hadn't gone there at all. I frequently splurge on dinners and feel that delicious food is worth every penny, but this was the most expensive disappointing dinner that I've had in a very long while
Be the first to ReplyGood for Westchester but get into the city if you can.
Pan-Asian/fusion not โelevated Cantoneseโ as they describe themselves. Easily 100/person without cocktails or dessert or wine, and we felt rushed, and not just because everything comes out in one big rush with the effect of mixing dishes that shouldnโt be mixed vs savoring each one. Also heavy on the oil. There needs to be some lighter, more neutral vegetable or carb sides to lighten it up.
