Great music, drinks, and location.
Seating goes fast so get there early. Will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Boston!

Had an awesome time at Grace by Nia, celebrating a recent engagement. The atmosphere felt both exclusive and inviting, with great music, lighting and ambiance. Everything we had to eat was absolutely delicious, especially the crab dip and carrot cake chicken and waffles. The cocktails were not great and the overall menu was definitely on the pricier side, but overall had a great experience!
Be the first to ReplyDid not expect the food to be so good at a live music venue.
I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing! Of course the music was great too, but the food was really really good.

Confession: I thought Carrot Cake Chicken & Waffles sounded weird, and I had to be convinced to try them. But OMG. They were (literally) the best waffles I've ever had. And the chicken was seasoned perfectly. The Chicken Benny was really good, too, but I definitely plan to come back for brunch just for the Chicken & Waffles.
Be the first to ReplyFirst off the decor is beautiful.
It really is spectacular in that aspect. We were seated in the stage area. There are many tables in this area. Probably a few too many to be honest. And the tables themselves are definitely small. It made maneuvering the plates somewhat of a challenge. On to the food. We ordered the catfish bites, these lacked all manner of seasoning. They just tasted fried. The chicken wings were good. They were coated in a sweet sticky sauce. For entrees we had the oxtail with coconut grits and Spicy Cajun Pasta. The cajun pasta was good and spicy. The oxtails while well cooked lacked flavor. For dessert we had the banana bread pudding served with a banana rum sauce and banana ice cream. If love banana this is for you. Our server (Ramon I think) was very nice attentive. Overall I don't think it's a bad experience. However it is an expensive experience. If you're sitting in the stage area as we were. There is a $25 per person entertainment fee. If you book online that same fee is noted and held on the card until your reservation. If you skip your reservation without cancellation you will be charged $20 per person. Just some things to keep in mind.
Be the first to ReplyWas looking forward to this experience for a long time.
The service was horrible. We waited 45 minutes for our check. We were hit with 140 worth of fees for not ordering entrees when we barely were able to get our waiter to come to the table. It was a birthday and a friend tried to call in a bottle of champagne. They told her they brought it out several times and lied to her. They did not have the bottle and did not tell us until we were about to leave. Horrible experience and refused to waive any fees. I have worked in the service industry for years and have never had an experience this bad. Do not come here.

Outstanding concept! They pull-off the vibe of a supper club well. Didn't know that Boston needed a place where you could dress to the nines and enjoy some great jazz. Now it seems obvious. They have two seatings -- an earlier and later, so you'll need to decide where you want the evening to end. We were there most recently for their New Year's Eve celebration. The night flew by and the drinks and spicy deviled eggs were a hit (which they kept coming on both counts). If I had to give a note, their offerings on the entree side are slightly lacking. That's ok with me as long as they keep the great drinks and appetizers coming.
Be the first to ReplyWe were so upset with our table, service and overall
We were so upset with our table, service and overall ambience of the restaurant that we ended skipping dinner, and leaving after just having a cocktail. We were seated pretty much in a different room than the band, and had to watch the show on a tv screen. We were then asked to pay an entertainment fee which was automatically added. I do not suggest this establishment.

simply put: we had an exceptional experience at grace by nia!! they earned 5 stars in everything from the service, the atmosphere, the live music, and of course the food. they were very gracious about pushing our reservation forward when we were late due to traffic. our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering, and i truly cannot overstate how good it was. i had the carrot cake chicken and waffle, which was absolutely perfect. the shaved carrots and cream cheese icing were excellent touches, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. the mac and cheese was undoubtedly the best i've had, with a hint of garlic in it. my partner also loved the yardbird. the cornbread was his favorite! he loved the crispier edges and honey butter as well as the fact that it wasn't too sweet. the mastadonis project did a great job performing and we really enjoyed watching and listening to them. overall, we will absolutely be returning to the first black owned restaurant in seaport!!
