Han Dynasty New York Reviews from The Last Year
It was the first time to tried this restaurant.
The food was so tasty. ( I ordered spicy hot pot ) And the staff members are very kind and gave me a good suggestion. Also, I left my phone behind. They kept it in a safe place for me!! Thank you so much!!
There was a huge group.
.we came over after a meeting and took over the round table in the corner...it was amazing. We ordered lots of food...I had the dandan noodles and vegetable dumplings and both were amazing. Apparently this is a place my friends frequent often...and I know why...it was amazing! Really enjoyed it and hope I can come back again!

Brown rice and vegetable dish consistently contained hard stuff and vegetable likely weren't washed properly. Teeth damage and crack risk, do not eat here. Never had these issues at other chinese restuarants.
Food is always good.
Good portion sizes. The place can be noisy when full hence I go off hours. Highly recommend.

went with a friend and had the most unfriendly service, the food was good especially the dry pepper style and the lo mein. the place is so dirty, the bathroom smelled like something died and there was no toilet paper. there was water on the floor in the bathroom and i slipped and almost fell. i asked to speak to a manager but there was no manager working. order to go if you come here.

I was really hoping that HD would live up to the expectations set by all the 4 and 5 star reviews I saw here. My partner and I showed up around 6pm on a Friday night with no reservation. The first things I noticed but did not really judge or evaluate too harshly were that almost no one working there (or eating there) (not even in the kitchen) that I could see was chinese, and the restaurant's logo of a young chinese girl with full, sensuous lips slurping a noodle was just..... off. Oh. Also, the grade from the health department is "pending". still, they sat us at a 2-top (as long as we promised to be out by 7:15). There was a lone guy with a mac laptop wearing a Han Dynasty t-shirt sitting alone at the big round table in the back. He looked Russian to me. He was definitely not Chinese. He wasn't eating. He was just sort of hanging out alone at the biggest table in the place and to me he seemed out of place. After an uncomfortably long wait a waitress appeared. We ordered. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. 5 minutes later a guy shows up with our entrees. we explain that we would like to get our drinks and appetizers first. So he left with the entrees. 10 minutes later our appetizers and THEN our drinks appeared. My beer first, then my partner's cocktail a few minutes later. The cold sesame noodles were very delicous even though they lacked the usual cucumber pieces and scallion garnish. They were just noodles and sauce. There are no steamed vegetable dumplings on the menu so we ordered fried. We were served fried chicken dumplings. oh well. we ate them. they were fine. The pea shoots steamed with garlic were fantastic. The black bean chicken was fine though the portion seemed small. We paid (it was kinda expensive). we left. Even when we left there weren't any more chinese people eating there which is not a great sign. We won't be returning. Your mileage may vary.
A friend and I were finally getting dinner together after
A friend and I were finally getting dinner together after not being able to see each other in person for quite some time and her recommendation for eats was the Han Dynasty Chinese Restaurant on the LES. Having never tried the place I was of course curious and made sure to peruse a little on Yelp to see what others had said about it. It sounded fine to me so we set a reservation for around 6:45PM and headed there together after meeting up. The restaurant is just a five or so minutes walk from Union Square proper and since it was torrentially raining out we were moving a little faster. They have an outdoor dining section which weather made a nope option and once inside we were seated quickly and brought some hot tea. A very nice thing to have on the chilly, rainy night for sure. As I can eat most things, provided there aren't too many onions in them based on my stomach just not liking them anymore, I let my companion guide the decision process. We ended up ordering spicy cucumber cold appetizer and don don noodles and chicken dumplings as the hot appetizers. The main dish would be garlic chicken and we'd be fine with the included white rice. Everything came out rather fast and I don't think it was even ten minutes of a wait which was amazing. We shared all of the dishes until we were full and even had some to take home with us for lunch the next day. All of the dishes were super tasty and a recommendation. The staff were attentive and friendly and while I didn't detect an in-house WiFi my device grabbed the Link NYC feed which was nice to have for the time being. Pricewise the whole shebang ran about $64 with tip which is not bad considering there were three appetizers and a main dish as our order. I say give them a try if you are near the place and hungry for some tasty Chinese food. Order to go if you don't feel like sitting down.
I can't figure out why this place is popular.
Our vegetable fried rice had very few vegetables. The spring rolls were nothing out of the ordinary. The chicken in black bean sauce was ok . The tea was lukewarm. Service was very good and quick, though.
Food is good, a notch above usual take out.
Spicy. Ambiance is a bit loud on weekends with young crowd. Staff is friendly but a bit slow.
Wonderful food.
My Chinese friend and I had three dishes of varying spiciness. The service and quality of food were great and the prices are not high. The place is enormous, so one might not even need reservations. (We had a Friday lunch at noon.)

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
