It's still excellent
I visit this restaurant weekly with clients, its exceptional. Service & Food very consistent. Visited a few weeks ago on a Sunday with my family and it wasn't the same experience, I was worried, but thankfully Monday to Friday it's still leading the way.
Be the first to ReplyStill very good.
Great Dining space, ambience spot on . Attentive staff . Nice Bar area pre dinner which could do with some additional seating at busy times .
Be the first to ReplyGreat for lunch, lovely in the evenings.
I always enjoy coming here whether for a work lunch or for dinner with friends or family. The atmosphere is lively in the evenings and ideal if you have been for a drink first. The food is great and the restaurant is fitted out beautifully. Admittedly you can probably get a better steak elsewhere but the menu is extensive with lots of options and overall this place is hard to beat.
Be the first to ReplyIndifferent Service
Not as good as Seven Dials. No complaints about the food: very good crab salad starter and a great rib eye steak. Service is indifferent: one waiter brings menus then Antonio introduces himself as our waiter, pleasant guy, brings drinks takes our order including a request for horseradish. Somebody else brings the wine and spills it whilst serving. Food arrives, brought by somebody new, no horseradish, so we remind him it was ordered. He disappears so eventually we have to get Antonio’s attention to get some horseradish. I don’t expect fawning waiters anticipating your every need but this team is too laid back, waving at each other or staff visiting from other branches and the customers seem to be a distraction. The steak is good but there’s plenty of choice in town.
Be the first to ReplyBest Sunday roast ever
This was my first visit and we had booked for a Sunday roast. The inside is so beautiful and old. Service was very good. The roast itself was amazing, and so we're the wines. It is proced reasonably. I am already looking to go back again!

This was my second time to come here. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. However, I will say this time they messed up my order in a bad way – I came here with four work colleagues and we each ordered steak. Each of my coworkers’ steaks were cooked to order except for mine: a medium rare comes out well done and it cut like shoe leather. Ten minutes after delivery, our waitress comes to the table to check on us and I tell her mine is not right. She checks with the kitchen and it will be about 15-20 minutes before a replacement can be brought out. I declined, as by that time my coworkers were nearly finished with their meal. While they did remove the charge for me, I left hungry as well as disappointed as my meal was ruined by the staff. It’s not cheap eating here. I would highly recommend you look for another place to dine.
Be the first to ReplyNo improvement on a year ago.
Back here after a year of frequenting Goodmans and Blacklock. Inattentive sevice at the bar started the evening badly. service improved in the restaurant but the seating (we were placed on a side table, semi circular, good for a floor show but pretty hopeless fora business dinner. The meat was fatty and overly salted, the fries seemed to have been cooked from frozen. Pork belly was excellent as was the legendary maple bacon. Coming in at £125 a head without desserts or coffee, it just isn't good enough. Check out Blacklock , much better meat, much better value.

Really professional staff with really good recommendations and delivering a great service. Really recommend the new dessert! We'll come again when back in the city!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Sunday lunch
We celebrated a couple of Birthdays and had a wonderful time , Sunday roasts ,Burgers and a Chateaubriand shared by 3 was order of the day . The Chateaubriand was sensational. Everyone loved their choices , Starters and Desserts we equally top quality . The young lady who waited the table was friendly , informative and very efficient too .Its not cheap but worth every penny .
Be the first to ReplyGloomy fare.
Had Sunday lunch here. Have had better in a greasy spoon. Beef was chewy, chewy, chewy. The potatoes were in no way enhanced by having been roasted. The giant Yorkshire pudding overwhelmed the plate with its dry drabness. The carrots were sweet. Cabbage was fine. We wondered what to do with the half bulb of garlic? Gravy was unremarkable. Gloomy subterranean room. Staff were friendly. Couldn’t possibly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant good but avoid the bar
Was ok experience. Steak was good and service in restaurant was good. Sides very small and very expensive for the portion size. The reason this review isn’t higher is because we decided to go for a drink I’m the bar before. The bar is ok but it’s very crowded and noisy and it’s full of drunk City people. It’s not the nicest place to enjoy a drink.

Forget the pretenders, still the best steak in London 13 years after I first visited the chain. Staff were top drawer. Chateaubriand with bernaise sauce amazing as usual. Keep it up all and thanks for looking after us.
Be the first to ReplyTreat from son
I had never eaten here before but my son booked it as we were at St Paul’s for evensong. My son has eaten here several times so was confident I’d enjoy the experience. Wonderful greeting on entering, coats placed in the cloakroom and shown to our table. The room reminded me of a corporate dining room but the atmosphere was amazing. Waiter was very attentive and brought our aperitif choices quickly rapidly followed by our first course. I would have liked a little space between the two but it was ok. The food was excellent, steak cooked to perfection and a wonderful selection of side dishes. The marrow gravy is to die for. Opted for cheese and it was a very good choice. I would willingly eat here again!
Be the first to ReplyHighly delicious
Highly delicious at each step of the way. Mackerel starter might not sound terribly exciting, but it is here: flavoursome, fleshy and glazed in incredibly tasty sauce. The sea bream main is equally good: incredibly tender and cooked just right. Beer is a little pricey but still commendable. Service is also very good. A little on the expensive side but great to try out as a treat.
Be the first to ReplyTop class
An absolutely brilliant experience from beginning to end. Crab on toast was delicious as was potted bacon and beef starter. We both had the surf and turf which was cooked to perfection and the lobster was so tender. Just about room for a chocolate anglaise pudding. Drinks were spot on, gimlet, odesa punch and a dessert wine. Top class service from all the staff. Honestly cannot say enough nice things about it.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food, Excellent Service
I came here for dinner with work friends and we had a nice time – the food was very good and the service was excellent. We had a variety of appetizers as well as steaks: don’t pass up getting the maple bacon to go with your steak (the bacon order is enough for two). If you walk out of here hungry, something is wrong!
Be the first to ReplyGreat for steak (and fish!)
As usual, excellent service (even seated us an hour before our booked time) and delicious food. I had the monkfish, my partner had the fillet steak, we also had beef dripping fries, buttered greens and creamed spinach. All yummy.

The Hawksmoor doesn’t think it’s necessary to have hot water in their bathrooms. Or maybe they’re just too cheap (ironic, really, given the shameful pricing)? Assumedly this means staff, as well as customers, can’t wash their hands properly after going to the bathroom. And does it mean the plates aren’t cleaned properly too? I don’t know; but no hot water is a red flag to me. I can’t imagine many people want filthy hands all over their food. So I suggest going elsewhere for your steak; to a restaurant where they care about the health of the people who come in. Disgusting.
Be the first to ReplyTeam Xmas do / Private dining / Excellent food!
We were here last night for a work xmas do in the private dining room. Have visited before, so had a base level of expectation, and it was more of the same - a fantastic evening. The room itself is very spacious, can sit up to 22 people I think. We were a few short, and on the day had drop outs due to illness / transport issues, but it didn't feel empty. We were hosted by Jake, who was brilliant from start to finish, answered questions from everyone on food, helped with drinks choices, all round good host. Food was excellent, drinks choices were great. Only build I would have is that the room needs some background music to help with the ambience, but again, Jake went and got a bluetooth speaker for us so we could then link that up. Would highly recommend.

Have been to London a few times now and had not experienced a Sunday Roast. What a treat! The food and the service was excellent. Definitely a must do!

Very friendly staff, always smiling and chatting to you. Really made to feel very welcome. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and was very clean and very well presented. As for the food. It was amazing from starter to dessert. Couldn't fault a thing On a Monday night you can take your own wine for a corkage charge of £5. They give you an ice bucket and top your glass up as needed. We was asked if it was a special occasion and was given a glass of champagne on the house. Lovely touches Would 100% recommend the Hawksmoor

I can't express how great my meal was at this wonderful steakhouse. Everything cooked to perfection. The staff were all amazing and we can't wait to see Angelo and his team again. Topnotch all round.

We dined at Guildhall for my father in laws surprise 60th, in the private dining room. The lead up to the event couldn't have been easier, they staff were able to change menu items and customise things so it was a really special night! The staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food is next level - it really was a dream dinner! Couldn't recommend them highly enough - they made it such a special night!

Delicious food, great service, was gifted some free items for my son's birthday, a bit pricey but worth it.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic dinner… Friendly and amazing service
Just wanted to leave a review for a lovely dinner had just now. To close off the week, I decided to treat myself for a steak… and where better than Hawksmoor (addicted to Shakey Petes and their creamed spinach). Food and drinks were up to Hawksmoor’s usual high standards as always. I just wanted to give a shout out to Vero (Veronika) who made the evening very memorable. I was dining alone and Vero would check in on me regularly. She recommended the new cheesecake (I’m a sticky toffee pudding fan but I’m glad she convinced me… lighter and more refreshing for hot days like today!). She even took some time out to chat to me about her time at Hawksmoor and their various restaurants across London. Thank you Vero for the company, and I’ll see you all at Hawksmoor Guildhall again soon.
