I love this place, especially on Sundays.
Like, is there a better deal than $10 for a pitcher of mimosas on Sunday? I also really like their nachos with chicken, and order it almost every time (no, it's not real Mexican food, so just accept that when you order it - if you want Mexican, go to an actual Mexican restaurant). They're super dog friendly here and def make you feel like it, so you can chill with your pup outside and pet your dog if you're okay with it. And even on weekdays, service is just generally nice and welcoming. Like, you'd want to come back here no matter what! Love coming by here and feeling welcomed!
Be the first to ReplyIt's my first time having the Sunday Brunch.
We saw it on an Instagram Reel and made plans to have it. I went with my daughter and we were extremely disappointed. All of the food looked as if it were hot. We can see steam at the buffet. But every thing we bit into was below luke warm to cold. We noticed other customers complaining about the same thing. We tried other options at the buffet and all came back cold. We addressed it with the bartender to let the manager know. Very disappointed to pay over $50 including tip for 2 cold brunch buffets. Wouldn't go back after this experience. The manager never even came to our table to address the matter.

Be the first to ReplyBeer cheese was a delightful combination of savory cheese
Beer cheese was a delightful combination of savory cheese and the rich flavor of beer, making it a perfect accompaniment with pretzels. Its creamy texture and bold taste make it a favorite among many. The tanginess of the beer adds a unique twist to the traditional cheese dip, creating a delicious and satisfying experience. Overall, beer cheese is a must-try for cheese lovers and beer enthusiasts alike.

Food, beer, atmosphere are all great! We tend to sit outside and the bartender's are very good at recommendations and fast service.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to grab a quick drink and maybe a little bite to eat before going out for the evening and we came across Heist Bar as it was pretty close to the spot we were going to afterwards. Upon entry, we were quickly sat at the bar and we ordered chips and the short rib queso. I also ordered the short rib taco and my friend got the fish tacos. Overall, everything was pretty good. I will say a couple of my chips were a little stale lol but I won't nitpick too bad.

I've been here a dozen times and the food is lower than sub par. Fried mozzarella was just that. Outside cooked inside just cold mozzarella sauce just jarred sauce with no flavor. I've tried maybe 15 beers and all of them flavorless on the back end. No balance whatsoever. I just don't get it. The good Location is nice. The ambiance is great. Music great. Staff wonderful. I just wish the food and beer were up to par.
Be the first to ReplyNice little atmosphere for the Super Bowl drinks were good.
Server was kind to me as well
Be the first to ReplyWalked in at 11 for a first-time brunch visit.
Totally disorganized. I guess the regulars knew what to do but we wandered around a bit. Thankful we did. No where to sit. Funny smell. Food looked meh. I guess you are supposed to pay first then go to the buffet but if there's nowhere to sit? We ended up at Olde Meck instead - much better.

After seeing their impressive IG posts advertising their brunch spread, we decided to check them out. Well, kudos to their social media manager because the post is better than IRL! Before I get to the food portion of the review, let's start with the basics. Brunch starts at 10am and there is a bit of a line that queues outside prior to the doors opening. And no judgement, but there were a lot of serious eater profiles in line so that made us even more optimistic about the food. The line does move a little slow as they take payment up front and also make drinks while slapping a wristband on to tell who paid for the buffet and who didn't. Not sure why they bothered because there wasn't anyone standing online checking for wristbands. But the place was packed by 10:45 so I would advise getting here earlier vs later. Also, unless I missed it, there wasn't a menu board listing what exactly was on the buffet. We assumed that the menu was similar to what we saw on IG. That was a mistake. The selection included waffles, chicken strips, scrambled eggs, shrimp and grits, biscuits and country gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit salad, salmon patties and an omelette make to order window. The good. The shrimp and grits were the best items on the menu. The grits were legitimately delicious and contained plenty of shrimp. However there were no bowls, only plates so if you don't like the run off effect, beware. The chicken tenders were good not great. The segments were irregular resulting in uneven frying with some of my pieces over fried. The bad. The eggs, sausage links, gravy and fruit salad were synonymous with the continental breakfast you get at the Hampton Inn. The sausage links in particular had that dull grey complexion that reeked of either steam or microwave but definitely not griddle cooked. The scrambled eggs essentially fused together in the serving pan so you had to scoop it out like ice cream. And my lady ordered from the omelette bar, and after waiting 15 minutes for it to be ready, she ended up with an inedible omelette that looked like it had been bathed in grease. The ugly. I ordered a Bloody Mary from the bar. The Bloody Mary was good, and included a decent garnish of okra and olives. However, I only ordered that one drink and the 2 buffets. Final ticket came to $87! Not sure how much they charged me for the bloody but I think I would stick with water or a beer if I were you. We may have caught them on an off weekend so there's that to consider. But in general, if quantity over quality is your groove, then by all means make this your next stop. But if you are looking for a brunch with a little more "cookery", you may want to look elsewhere.

GET THE BEER CHEESE!!! It's not even like beer cheese in my opinion, it's a cheesy dip of it's own nature. I cannot stress how good it is. The place is fantastic overall but the beer cheese is what got me hooked.

Surprisingly negative review today, as typically Heist always delivers. The woman bartender working at 9:23 on Friday night (8/5) in the second bar stand was unnecessarily rude. Idk if it was just a tough day or what but you chose to show up to work so I expect you to talk to me with some sense. I have always praised the service here and will keep coming back but damn her attitude ruined it for me. I hope you feel better! Drinks were average at best tonight :( - tough night for one of my fav breweries.

Pretty good restaurant, I wish there had been a little more variety on both the drink/food menus but overall not a bad spot. Service was extremely fast and the appetizers all looked good.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great cocktails, and amazing service.
Diamond is a wonderful server and remembers our order every time we are in her section. Highly recommend the lavender lemonade and whiskey fields cocktails. Love the Brussel sprouts and truffle fries too.
Be the first to ReplyWe get takeout quite often.
It's our go-to on Mondays when everything else in NoDa is closed. Honestly I think the food is very good. We love the mushroom flat bread, teenage son loves the Mac & cheese with barbecued brisket. Only thing is, the advertised pear salad. It always comes with grapes instead.

Recently celebrated my sister's 60th birthday and the entire experience was really awesome. We had a party of 8 and the hostess was very helpful in getting us a table on a busy Saturday night. However, the highlight of our evening, other than the great food and drinks, was our waitress, Jillian. Serving a large party can be difficult however she was outstanding the entire night. Jillian was attentive and extremely polite. It is not often that you go out and have great food and great service, but I must say, Heist knocked it out of the park this past weekend! Thank you for a memorable night celebrating my sister's special birthday!
Be the first to ReplyWe love this place and I go all the time.
The only down side is the seating and I've had to sit at the bar now the past three times I have gone. The seating situation for two has been either the bar, a 45 minute wait, or a "community table." It just seems very hard to get a normal table for two in the restaurant area. Overall, love the atmosphere and food but I wish I could get a seat for brunch or lunch in the actual dining area.

Just started going to brewery'sThis is a good one bc I'm here for the food lol! Great quality burgers all the toppings And my favorite is the crispy chicken sandwich here with the Brioche bun, nice weekday pick up and the Desserts the warm baked cookie $5 must have
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and great beer selection! Really nice vibes
Excellent food and great beer selection! Really nice vibes too both inside and out. It can get crowded but there is full food service at the bar and there's a nice outside waiting/sitting area.
Be the first to ReplySaw Heist Brewery on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
They featured the duck confit flatbread. We decided to drive from SC to check it out. They no longer feature the duck confit flatbread but we were not disappointed. Try the cheeseburger flatbread and the chicken nachos. Delicious. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter Emmanuel was awesome!!!!!!! We will be back!!!!
Be the first to ReplyRan in here for a quick drink while waiting on pizza next
Ran in here for a quick drink while waiting on pizza next door at Benny's. Was surprised as it wasn't your typical brewery. Great outdoor seating, huge parking lot, always a plus in Charlotte. Inside more like a bar with food . Has servers too. Great little cocktail list which also surprised me. Was just expecting to see a few wines . Bartender was really great too, very friendly and hospitable. We ordered some beers, couple of old fashioned, fresh squeezed mimosas, and the empress 75. Everyone loved all the drinks, the fresh mimosa definite highlight as it tasted so good, fresh squeezed juice definitely makes a difference. Highly impressed they had Empress gin, so hard to find at any good bar let alone a brewery. So well done on that ! We all said we'd come back here for sure. Good vibe even on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Big brewery scene in Charlotte these days, so nice to find this little gem that caters to everyone.
Be the first to ReplyAll of the beers we drank were great, good flavor profiles
All of the beers we drank were great, good flavor profiles and use of hops. The beer menu explains which hops they use in the beers which is super helpful for those that like certain hops. Ended up eating dinner here, the burger and chicken wrap were really good! Didn't come with fries which isn't a bad thing but if you want fries - remember to order them separately. This is spot worth visiting when in NoDa.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with my family after a long drive to Charlotte
Came here with my family after a long drive to Charlotte for a drink and dinner. The team of three young girl hostesses at the door were not able to seat us and indicated a table could take up to 20 minutes. We decided to stay and have a drink while waiting. Beer was good but we kept on waiting and waiting and waiting...When we engaged the ladies to see status of table, they had no idea when we would get seated. We saw another couple walk out who were fed up waiting as well. Restaurant was not full, seemed staffed adequately but obviously was not managed very well. Manager was not polite or helpful to get us seated either. Attitude seemed like they were doing us a favor serving us their food and drink. We finally left and luckily went right next door to get a colossal pizza from Benny's. Sometimes things work out for the best since the vibe and pizza were great next door.
Be the first to ReplyReally disappointed in the entire experience.
Has gone extremely down hill since the last time I've been here. Horrible service, mediocre and overpriced drinks. Employees were less than thrilled to be here. Zero communication between hostess and staff. They pointed us to the overcrowded, single manned bar to order food and drinks...the excuse was "chaotic..." ended up getting one drink after 20 min. and no food. Couldn't be more disappointed rn. It's a shame.
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I went for dessert and drinks.
The drinks were great but the desserts were disappointing. The apple pie skillet had apple skins and raw/burnt sugar cookie dough on top. The bread pudding was hard. The beer was great though and our server was amazing g and upbeat.
