I have dreamed of these tacos.
My first time in NYC (Chicago girl) and this restaurant was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Incredibly kind and friendly staff, and fantastic food, for very reasonable prices. Highly reccomend!

Haven't even looked on yelp. But a really nice and good place. Food is really tasty and fresh. All servers were super nice (compared to other restaurants over the city)Although they were super fast and it took me only 25 to get all 3 dishes :)All in all I really enjoyed my food here.

Update: not only did they have terrible service and food, they also overcharged my card. Fraudulent business.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a tried and true favorite of mine.
It's always solid and reliable, the food is great, the ambiance is fun and lively, and the staff is consistently kind and attentive. Especially these days when restaurants are struggling to hire and keep up with ever-changing safety protocol, I'm so impressed with how friendly, efficient, and helpful my server was as well as every staff member I encountered. A huge shout out to them- they made my most recent trip as enjoyable as the food. The margaritas are great and the tacos are a favorite. I always do the choose your own trio option and my favorite tacos are the shrimp ones. The fish tacos are also very good.

The line was long and we waited 1 hour to be seated but it was worth it. A nice place to chill and drink with my husband. We love the ambiance. One of our favorite place.

Atmosphere and the waitstaff are the stars at this Hells Kitchen Mexican / pizza restaurant? Odd combo but I'll go with it. I ordered the vegetable fajitas which is usually the "healthy"Option and it was both greasy and a meager portion at best. I left hungry even after adding in a side of rice and beans which were served in teeny tiny ramekins. I used to go to vnyl a lot and miss their food quality. The service was nice, the hostel lovely and the drink was fine. I'm not sure I would return. Sadly I have to give it a "meh". ย Not awful but definitely not awesome. I wish the owners paid as much attention to the food as the atmosphere and they'd have me as a repeat customer. Glad they kept the concept of fun bathrooms, remixed to fit the New Mexican and pizza vibe...which I still don't understand. Lol.

How far this restaurant has fallen from when it used to be a more authentic Mexican restaurant, with a gay Hell's Kitchen vibe, located down 9th Avenue. Even before Covid there were cute, friendly gay bartenders and by the time the place opened you couldn't get a seat at the bar. The food then was decent tex-mex as well. Now the menu had pizzas and pasta. If I wanted that I would go for authentic Neopalitan pizza around the corner on 50th. The margaritas here and at 'Ritas are super disappointing. I hate pre-made margaritas poured from a tap. They should be made to order each and every time.. My coco-guava margarita was over $15 with tax and then my bartender had to ask if I would like to leave 18%, 20% or 22% because her register wasn't printing receipts. I opted for 18% which put the total for one weak, overly sweet margarita at around $18 with tip! I would have no problem paying this if it were a good, strong margarita, but I guess that's not what the owners are going for. Everything seems like a sellout to a more generic crowd, but if the owners feel like an empty bar on a Wednesday at 6:45 is a good thing, more power to them. My bartender was super nice, but I'll skip this place for either more authentic Mexican, or a more gay HK vibe, of which there are both plenty to choose from in Hell's Kitchen.

Got a trio of tacos from here and ordered 3 different kinds - crispy brussel sprouts, chicken, and shrimp. The chicken taco was dry and underwhelming - would not recommend ordering it. The shrimp and the brussel sprouts tacos, however, were really yummy. You can never go wrong with fish or shrimp tacos and this place cooked the shrimp just the way I like it, it was so soft and tender. The crispy brussel sprouts taco, on the other hand, came with a green sauce on the side and was also delicious - a great menu choice for vegetarians.

This place is fantastic! Great food and drinks that don't require a second mortgage. That's always a plus.

Food is actually not bad but the way the service works with the app ordering - everyone's food comes at a different time. There's a fee to use their in restaurant app. And it just cheapens the whole experience for no reason? Should change it to traditional restaurant ordering.Update; asked the restaurant staff to tell Mgmt to call me and left my number so we could talk about this and how to make it better but no one called.

This place was great, funny and friendly! The food was good and came out in a timely manner. Great drinks to choose from if you're looking for a little daytime/nighttime drinking. Tasty tacos and quesadillas as well
Be the first to ReplyWow has this place gone down hill.
I used to visit once a week, as this was a long time the best mexican in the neighborhood if not the city. But since covid this place has changed for the worse.First, they are rarely opened. We tried going last Monday but it was closed. On a beautiful evening. Ok? Then we went tonight on a Thursday. They have since combined menus with their sister restaurants, B-squared (pizza) and Ritas (also tex mex), which wouldn't bother me if the service didn't suffer so much. In fact there is no longer service. Rather they have moved to a food ordering app, which didn't work well, and was extremely bug filled. As a result you almost never see a waiter and when we had trouble with the ordering app there was nobody there to help. Plus the app adds a charge for using it...so cool. After we got our food nobody came to check on us for an hour. Wtf?As for the food, that also went waayyy downhill. They replaced their authentic mexican chips with what tasted like store brand tostitos, and the quesadilla which before was epic is now using a low grade tortilla and lacks the flavor it had before. Pretty disappointed in management. I understand covid was very difficult on restaurants, but cutting corners like this is not a great way to keep and build your customer base going forward. ย Fortunately Rancho across the street has really improved throughout covid, where we will like stick with going forward. ย Such a shame.
