All the food was so salty and the beef was spoiled. We told the 2 of the waiters that it was spoiled, they quickly brushed it off and said it's probably the "sauce". The beef was definitely spoiled! Next, we were there for a birthday dinner so obviously we had a cake. We saw the waiter was busy so we were going to cut the cake ourselves. The waiter quickly came and insisted to help us cut the cake. We saw the receipt later, they charged us $5 for a cake cutting fee! They never told us this ahead of time and just secretly charged us! WILL NEVER COME BACK!

Such an amazing place for vegetarian dim sum!! I usually don't like going to dim sum places because of the lack of flavor in vegetarian items, but this place definitely makes their vegetarian food taste amazing and makes you want to ask for more. It's also a reasonably priced place as well, so definitely recommend going with a group of people to try multiple things. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper tofu, dry fried string beans, mushroom buns and veggie chow fun!!

Good place for dim sum but it gets very busy especially on the weekends. All the standard dim sum items are delicious. For large parties make sure you order the chow fun noodle. BBQ duck with the bun is also a great option. The vibe is busy and bustling, so service will be fast and expedient. You'll need some patience for parking.

Always a wait but if you are open to sharing tables with other customers, you can move up the queue faster!

Very delicious dim sum with fair prices! I would say it is my favorite dim sum spot at SF. The service is good and the ambiance is good for friend gatherings. Make sure to be there early since the line is always long, but it is really worth waiting!!!
Be the first to ReplyI was in search of great Chow Mein.
And now I have found it!!!! Hong Kong Lounge has made me a believer. The restaurant is impeccable clean and the service was excellent. I'm now a fan.
Be the first to ReplyThe best dim sum in the city I must say.
Their coffee spare ribs was really good. And so was everything else. Came out steaming hot and fresh.

One time for lunch and dinner. The dinner menu seems more expansive. For dinner, we had some dim sum dishes like shumai and xiao long bao then we had the duck with the soft white buns. Then, we had the spicy crab. It is crab season. Delicious. It was followed by fried pork ribs, har gaw, string beans with ground beef, lamb in claypot. There were 4 of us and we were so full. I would recommend you go with a big group. The room is bright and lots of large round tables with lazy Susan's on the table.
Be the first to ReplyThis place used to have good dimsum; now it is not worth
This place used to have good dimsum; now it is not worth the wait. The shrimp dumplings are as good as frozen ones you buy at supermarket...the shrimp is dry and small. The fried taro root is just ok. We tried the fish churn fun and it was just lukewarm. The beef fried pancake noodle was just ok where there was a hint of sourness in the sauce. The chicken feet were standard. The fried Mocha Green balls with black sesame filling was pretty good (but the black sesame paste is a bit too thick and could be more runny). The sugar coated fried doughnut is too oily. Service was average where I had to flag the staff several times and had to take the bill to the cashier; tea refills were good and prompt and so was taking away emptied dishes. I probably will be spending my money elsewhere moving forward.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dim sum served up here.
Met up with family on our vacation and they highly recommended lunch here. We braved the rain and cold on a Sunday afternoon. We saw the long lines to get in. And we conquered about a dozen dishes on the menu. Everything was tasty and delicious. Just a heads up that getting water for the table can be a bit slow when they are busy. But otherwise, enjoy.

Went in on a Friday at 10:30AM opening so eating was wide open. While we were there the restaurant was filled with diners but not stuffed
Be the first to ReplyDined in with a party of 4 during noon on a weekday.
The restaurant has a hustle and bustle atmosphere and is populated with lots of local elderly cantonese folk. Customer service is not one of their strengths, but the food quality is excellent for a pretty fair price in SF. Satisfied dim sum craving, would come again
Be the first to ReplyFood was bland and service was terrible.
We ordered 20 dishes which the bill came out to be $330 with what they claimed to be "mandatory gratuity". There were 5 adults and two kids of us but the waiter secretly changed it to 6 adults with 1 kid so they could force us to pay 18% tips. First, they didn't give us service at all. We had to ask them a few times to fill up the teapots. Second, you can't just force us to pay you 18% tips without providing any reasonable service. The waitress had the guts to come to my table and asked me to pay her $50 for tips. Heck to the no. Never come back again. It's definitely not the same like before!
Be the first to ReplyI see that many others have rated this lower, but this is
I see that many others have rated this lower, but this is the go to spot for sit down dim sum for me and my family. The waiters can be rude, but the food is worth it. The calamari is fantastic, the charsu bao unique and special, the dantat (egg custard I think) so fresh and perfectly prepared. The servers can be rude but then again aren't they always rude at good Chinese restaurants? The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the service.
Be the first to ReplyOkay dim sum.
Forced 18% tip over tax for lunch, for minimum service, without any option to change.
Be the first to ReplyA traditional dim sum spot.
Ordered typical dim sum dishes: Chicken Feet, Egg Yolk Bun, Har Gow, Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice, Pan Fried Taro Cake & Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. Nothing stood out except for the ginger scallion lobster noodle dish! The lobster was fresh and noodles were delicious! Bonus: piggy buns!

Prob the best place for GOOOD Shumai and tofu skin roll! Service was fast and the people are very nice! Ordered 7 items and the bill was about 61 dollars including tip! The line was bustling as we were leaving so I would recommend getting there before the lunch rush!

Hong Kong Lounge has very authentic dim sum and seems to be bustling on the weekends. I wanted dim sum after running a half marathon, so my friends and I found ourselves here to indulge in delicious food. We ordered a wide variety of dishes (by marking them on the paper menu sheet), and they all came promptly except for the pan fried pork buns. My favorites were the bbq pork buns (both baked and steamed), string beans, egg tarts, and rice rolls. Don't expect too much in terms of service - the staff work very efficiently but aren't the friendliest. We were quickly shoo'd out of the restaurant after paying which is understandable since there were many people waiting to be seated.
Be the first to ReplyThis is your typical dumpling place - "typical" meaning
This is your typical dumpling place - "typical" meaning "delicious" for SF. Not all Dim Sum places are created equal. From my favorite places on the East Coast to the ones right down the street from my house I apply a measurement that determines if it's worth the trip. For Hong Kong, I ask myself if it's worth the effort it takes to drive to the city and find parking in THAT neighborhood... For this place, the answer is, "Yes - yes it is."BB

Be the first to ReplyThis place is pretty good.
A lot of old school folks in this place. It seems pricy but the serving sizes are on the larger size. It's an OG Chinese spot so you have to take service as is. Dim sum is great. I just with there were the push carts.
Be the first to ReplyWe normally do take-out since Covid started but last Sunday
We normally do take-out since Covid started but last Sunday we went to dine at the restaurant. Nothing beats fresh dimsum from a kitchen. We love their Sui Mai with big chunks of shrimp and pork and roe on top. The Baked BBQ Buns are also the best being so moist and packed with pork. The Sticky Fried Rice and Sticky Rice wrapped in Lotus leaves are the best in town. The Har Gao and Rice Roll with Shrimp could be improved with plumper whole shrimp. We ordered a total of 12 different types of dimsum. We were very surprised with the efficiency and friendliness of our servers, Tony and Vicki. Kudos! The restroom cleanliness in a typical dimsum restaurant is definitely a weak spot and most especially for this restaurant. We will do dine in from henceforth, minus the bathroom visit...
Be the first to ReplyReally good dim sum for a great price.
I came here on a Sunday with a few friends and the bill came out to less than $200 for 6 people which is great considering we got SO MUCH FOOD... I also wasn't able to get pics of it all. The soup dumplings are amazing, the shrimp noodle roll, the shrimp dumplings, the turnip cake not pictured was also great. My least favorite may have been the duck but it was still pretty good. 10/10, would make the trek to the city to eat here again.
