Hotel Campanile Salford Reviews from The Last Year
Worst Hotel Experience Ever
We stayed at this hotel on the 15th and 16th June and would not recommend it to anyone. First night the fire alarm went off at midnight, all guests vacated their rooms as the alarm kept going. No staff members appeared to let us know what was happening. Alarm eventually stopped and everyone went back to their rooms. Next day we were told the alarm had tripped and the night receptionist did not know how to turn it off. Second night the fire alarm went off again for about 10 minutes at 3am then stopped. So a very poor 2 nights sleep, when we asked for a refund on checkout we were told to email the general manager and deputy general manager. Their reply was not our fault so you cannot have any refund!!!! They reckon a guest had removed a fire alarm from their room.......... For the price this hotel charged rooms were basic and very tired, food in the restaurant very poor quality. Anyone staying in Manchester avoid this hotel at all cost.
Awful outdated hotel
Booked 6 months ago, as only available hotel for a gig at Old Trafford. Robbed for £168 for one night. Bedrooms awful... clean, but really dated and in desperate need of an update. We were in room 110... one of the twin beds was just pure springs for a mattress. No-one could have slept on that. Unfortunately we had to leave for a personal issue so didn't sleep in the room. Thank god. I would never book this hotel again
DIMP
DUMP! Paid £175 for a room which was a joke - bathroom filthy, rusted pipes, toilet didn't flush properly, room tiny for three people. Got back there at 12.30am and the bar was closed with no other options. You are a shame on the great city of Manchester!
Decent location
Decent location for football but very dated room, wallpapered bathroom !! Room wasn’t ready on arrival so had to wait 90 minutes for our room . Staff really friendly and best aspect of the hotel. Not the hotels fault but huge building work next door meant no lie in !
Basic room need updating
Stayed for 1 night as hubby was doing marathon so a mile away from start. We did late check out which was 2pm and cost am extra £20. Room looked very tried needs a good make over tv wouldn't turn off by controls so had to find on off on the TV. Shower hot and powerfull no spoons to stir the coffee but stirring sticks, was a pain as we bring our own coffee and normally breakfast.
An OK stay
Stayed at the Campanile for a night out on Canal Street. Location is good, only a 5 minute taxi into town centre. Staff very polite and helpful. Easy check in and check out. Ample parking on site. The room itself was very basic and quite tired. Needs some maintenance and a fresh lick of paint to bring it back to life. However, it had all expected amenities such as kettle, hairdryer, and storage space. Bedding and towels looked clean and were decent enough quality. Bathroom was large and functional, but the condition was not brilliant such as damaged skirting board and stained counter above the sink. Overall it was average accommodation but ok for one night.
Perfect for a Gathering
This is the closest place I could find to Hulme for my Mums “Wake” what a hidden Gem, they made sure we were looked after and catered for.. From Check in to Check out we were met with smiles and genuine kindness. What was a very Sad Occasion was dealt with with such Compassion.. Thank you for your Kindness it was truly needed and appreciated. Food was plentiful and of a good quality
Basic hotel for a one night stay
This was a basic hotel and seemed a bit tired Staff were very friendly and helpful Location was good apart from building work going on the other side of the river and was noisy from 7.30 am The restaurant closed early so had to go to the nearby Sainsbury’s and grab a few sandwiches that we ate in our room Don’t think I would go back
Dirty rooms and unsafe bath tub
I've changed rooms twice! Rooms are dirty and unsafe. Nothing looks clean. Bath tub chipped exposing sharp edges. Another bath tub with rust and grime around the plug hole Mattress protector with yellow/brown stains.... Do not stay here!
Good value for a budget hotel.
My daughter booked this hotel for a overnight stay for us as we had done the Coronation St. Tour and it would have been too much of a rush to get back home in the midlands. I read the reviews prior to travelling and was a bit apprehensive as to what we may find. Reception..very polite & helpful(as were all staff) booking our taxis for us.Corridors very clean, room clean with comfortable beds and crisp clean linen and a large full English breakfast. Yes if I wanted to be ultra picky I daresay I could have found fault but this hotel catered for our needs and thats all we asked for.
Poor, tired & dishevelled and the room not just us
Well.. I can’t blame the particularly noisy amorous couple in the next room for our lack of sleep but I can blame the rubbish bed and paper thin walls. My boyf actually went to sleep on the floor under a towel instead of the bed as it was so so poor. Noisy room, worn out in all ways. Very tired grubby bathroom & facilities. We expected budget but for £65 without brekkie we at least expected to be able to sleep. Only positive was the location and parking.
Budget friendly
The hotel was okay given the stars it holds. However the room that me and my friend stayed in was very cramped for 2 people with suitcases. It was good for a lay-by for a concert but not to stay in for a few days or more. The room itself was dark and gloomy however everything inside was as advertised including a hair dryer, tv and hot drink facilities. The staff I met on my stay were very friendly, although I don’t recommend this hotel as somewhere to spend lots of time , it’s perfect and budget friendly if you just need it for a day or two for an event. Would come back again, thank you for my first stay in Manchester
PARKING ISSUES
From May to now we are getting letters from bailifs regarding parking our car which was Registered at the hotel. Despite details being confirmed again and again the threatening demands continue. My advise if you are in a car don't stay there. I am not the only person with this issue.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
