Never again in this restaurant. Forced to order dishes that we had left over
It is the fourth time I go to Hutong (also in Hong Kong) and I have always recommended it to friends. But now I'll never go again. 2 of us ordered 1 starter, 1 main plat and 1/2 pecking duck to share (it's for 2/3 people). The waiter told us that we had to get 2 more main plats because the pecking duck didn't count and neither did the main plat because we were sharing it. Angry we ordered another main plat and said we would no longer split the other dishes. We were very full, we had leftover food and paid more than โฌ150 each. A shame
Be the first to ReplyGreat Resturant - a must visit.
This restaurant is wonderful. The food was beautiful, the staff were attentive and the views were exceptional. This was a birthday meal, we revived a complimentary birthday mini dessert which was just an added bonus. We ordered from the lunch set menu Azalea and it was all wonderful. The Roast Peking duck was the best we have ever had. The Yam & Pork crispy dumplings were lovely. The wok tossed beef tenderloin was exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyBarman destroys experience
Good food if expensive - however the whole experience was totally ruined by a very rude and aggressive barman when we went for a drink after the meal.
Be the first to ReplyGreat cocktails with a great view
Excellent. You'll need to book a table view in advance, as only a few tables. Great vibe, with endless choice of cocktails. Staff excellent.

We really enjoyed our meal! View from table was stunning, food was super and service from Francesco and his colleagues was warm and welcoming. I would definitely return. Thank you! ๐

Tourist trap, certainly not anywhere near worth the money. In a "third row" table you see nothing of the view. The lighting is so dim, ostensibly to see "the view," you can't see the menu. The chairs were uncomfortable for all in our party of different builds posturing you leaning forward as opposed to sitting back to relax. Looking around, all clientele were similarly tipped forward. Perhaps to have you in and out quickly? Food was ok, but certainly nowhere near worth 45 pounds per entree. Staff were nice, but at times quite difficult to get there attention and at no point did anyone check in to see how the meal was or if another drink was needed. Suggest avoiding the shard altogether as there are much lovelier spots in the city.

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night in April 2024. We were 30 minutes late for the reservation but the restaurant was completely fine with it, we did try to call but were unable to get through. Upon arrival the host was friendly and we were seated quickly but were given an awkward table with no view and awkwardly positioned next to a pillar, when a table left we asked to be moved to a window table which they kindly accommodated. Our booking was for 10pm so it was already dark outside, the views of London are undeniably spectacular! If you are coming with anyone who needs glasses to read or their vision isn't great please be aware that lighting is very minimal, its quite dark, we had to use phone light to see the menu. The waiter advised us that there is a minimum spend per table or each person on the table needs to order 1 starter and 1 main this doesn't include sides, I wasn't aware of this so please bear this in mind when booking as its not stated on the website as far as i can see i could be wrong. The food came out very quickly, was tasty and the portions were of a good size. To end the meal we were given the bill and it included items that we did not order and almost paid for,I will be double-checking my receipts going forward! Overall in my opinion for the views alone, this is a nice place to visit, but you could go to the rooftop bar for this and have snacks and drinks for half the price. The food was nice however the service for the price you pay was very mediocre, rushed and inpersonal. I have visited other restaurants in the shard and found the service to be better elsewhere. For the money you pay for the pelasure they should to do better.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful dinner at Hutong!
We had a pleasant time when we visited Hutong last time. With a uniquely designed and presented menu, we were looked after really well by an absolutely professional gentleman - Ansu. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyPanoramic view to match the fabulous food
The restaurant is on the 33rd floor of the 72 floor Shard building in London Bridge. We were lucky to have a table near the window and the views were panoramic. The decor inside was traditional and the ambience was exquisite. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The cocktails were amazing. The food was delicious and we were served quickly.
Be the first to ReplyAn experience at the Shard
Booked on a lunchtime offer to experience the Shard. It was a very interesting experience. The food was good but not special and as it was on the Flavours of Huton offer the waitress said the portions would be smaller than from the a la carte menu for the same dishes. The staff were very polite and friendly but I felt rushed through, mains served before starters were finished. It is expensive.
Be the first to ReplyJust OK but you are paying for the view
This is the second time we have eaten in a restaurant at the Shangri La. After the first we vowed never again, but memory is a funny thing. We booked for lunch to scope out a room for a special birthday dinner. We left, a lot poorer but wiser that we wouldn't come back. First the food - or rather the water. Please don't serve tepid tap water. The food was ok to good . Vegetable spring rolls, excellent. Prawns, dumplings, mango pudding and rice were good. The chilli chicken was overly salty and crispy beef too sweet. The set menu for lunch was fairly good value - we hadn't come for the view. The alcoholic drinks are priced at the ludicrous end of the spectrum. Champagne at ยฃ28 a glass. The mark up on wines is about x 5. Service was good The whole restaurant was shabby, and the toilets clean but worn. It probably looks better at night. So - who should go? Firstly those who just want the experience of eating at the Shard and those who don't drink alcohol. The restaurant was booked for lunch by those on expense accounts, tourists and those celebrating a special occasion. We won't be celebrating mine there.
Be the first to ReplyHutong over priced and not nice lobster
The view was lovely . The veg spring rolls and fried rice was really nice . The tofu was very soggy . My partner ordered the lobster which was over priced and he threw it up the next morning
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great view and great service
We went for a really nice dinner at Hutong and were really pleased with our visit. We got a nice table with a great view (although it was rainy/cloudy) and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. We had a set menu with 9 courses and it was well worth the money. The starters, a selection of dim-sums, was amazing, especially the lobster one and the Iberico pork. All the courses tasted great, the crispy duck was fantastic, and the wagyu steak was very tasty as well - albeit a bit spicy. The server was very attentive. Overall a great experience and boujee in the best way.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience, great food
Quality and taste of food exceeded expectations from menu description. The poached chicken starter, pork and cucumber starter, and spicy sea bass were firm favourites
Be the first to ReplyDelicious meal and great service
Went to this restaurant for a birthday meal, the food was delicious and the staff were so attentive and welcoming. The dumpling platter was small but the quality and taste made up for it, rest of the meal was great. The cocktails were amazing too!
Be the first to ReplyFirst class dining
Lovely dinner with family, fantastic table by window and attentive service. We had signature menu which offers a good sample of different dishes though Iโd like to sea soft shell crab included in that choice. The wine pairing was most enjoyable too so overall a great night in an atmospheric restaurant. I really felt I was back in Asia with the city lights and decor and loos with a view!
Be the first to ReplyGood but not memorable.
Well for a first sitting on a Sunday evening these guys must have given us the best seat in the house, breathtaking views, a secluded spot, thank you management. We watched other later diners in the middle and back of the room, so not what you would come here for at all. The staff attention was great, the service good, Iโm not sure if all are happy in theyโre jobs but training seems effective. Drinks powerfully priced but here we are in the capital so very expected, the food.. As advertised a Northern China flavor so we looked forward to something different and weโre with the signature menu. Iโm not going dish by dish but will say it wasnโt memorable and questionable as โsignatureโ. Felt like the same old served most days without passion. That aside the dessert was a hit. Prรฉcis: Head of house are absolutely spot on, service is very okay although smiles are few but regrettably the food doesnโt live up to the anticipation or the image, position is notable and if your lucky enough to have a table on the rail the views are second to none. Without that spectacular table Iโd have been un impressed.
Be the first to ReplyThank you Momo super sommelier
I was your guest on Saturday 11 March for dinner. I wanted to thank you for the pleasant evening but above all to congratulate you on the impeccable and professional service of Momo your sommelier. Momo accompanied us throughout the evening making us feel at home and advising us on orders with great skill and sympathy. it was a fantastic dinner mostly thanks to him, we will definitely be back

We visited the restaurant for my husbandโs 50th.. e enjoyed a lovely evening with great food and even better service. Jason was courteous and made the occasion special with his pleasant personality .
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience
Had a beautiful time at Southwark Hutong with my parents. Jason the waiter who took care of us during our visit was brilliant and very patient with us, as a true gentleman even offered my mother a small birthday cake for her birthday. Couldn't have been happier with the experience and fully recommend to others.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular View , excellent service .
The most spectacular view in London . You just reserved , usually several months in advance . Excellent staff . We had the (moderately private) meeting room , which was perfect for a business dinner . Food was excellent especially the King Crab and Sea Bass . Ample selection for those vegetarians dining also .
Be the first to ReplyBeijing cuisine with an exceptional view
We went for the signature lunch for two. Every dish was impeccable in presentation and taste. This is high class, authentic Chinese cuisine (including the complimentary chilli oil which you should ask for). The duck is succulent and carefully-roasted, the kind of which you get in upmarket establishments in Beijing along with a certificate of quality (if youโre looking for crispy roast duck, forget it). The portions are pretty good and I appreciated this (pre-concert) rather than coming away feeling unnaturally full. On service and for presentational value, I think it would be better to have Chinese waiters/waitresses in traditional costume (the ambience is pure Beijing with statues, wall features and red lanterns). We had a table by the panoramic window on a glorious sunny day and the views were spectacular. Overall, a fabulous experience.
Be the first to Replybad service
there is no services .without you finished starter ,they pass on mani dishes . as the restaurant become busy for dinner , they just want you leave quickly!
Be the first to ReplyGood ambience, oldish food but not great service for the price
Visited with family - been here before : the views and the ambience are great but looks a bit in needs of a change I think. The food is ok - some good and some not great - lots of cold selections of starters. Wine/cocktail was good . A bit down on the service - seem to be in a hurry, a bit of a food place vibe - not the one you expect for the price you pay
