Food here is absolutely delicious.
The Bali ribs are to die for, and the fried eggplant a perfect pairing. We order other items too and I don't think anything has disappointed us. The ambiance is really nice and staff extremely friendly and attentive. Come here for dates, group hangout, team dinners!!!!

The outdoor patio is such a romantic and aesthetic place for any date, especially Valentine's Day! I loved how elegant the string lights are and the heaters kept me, a usually very cold girlie, extremely warm and happy! The food was divine and extremely flavorful! I loved the lamb satay -- the peanut sauce was the main character and we absolutely loved it. The coconut rice is a must. Additionally, the Bali ribs are 10/10 and a definite repeat if we were to come again. It is extremely tender, falls off the bone, is sweet but also extremely rich in flavor, and fills your mouth with genuine joy. The sesame crème brûlée is actually the star of the entire course and ended the meal with flying colors. It was not too sweet (highest remarks for any Asian dessert), very smooth and velvety, had just the right crunch from the sugar on top, and was topped with fresh fruit that paired extremely well with the sesame. I was inspired to attend pastry school so that I can learn to make this at home!! The service is also super wonderful and we got our food relatively quickly! I recommend INDO for date nights, office dinners, parties, and anything and everything! It was such a great meal!

This place may not look like much from the outside, but once you get inside, it is gorgeous with dim lighting and beautiful decor. The best part is the beautiful patio in the back of the restaurant - it is covered with ample heat so you can enjoy it any time of the year. The service is always very efficient, they are quick to seat you, take your order, and bring out your food. They make sure to great you at the door upon arrival and when leaving. I typically only order wine from here, so I cannot speak to the bartending. The food is delicious and is the star of the experience. I always make sure to order the roti and the garlic noodles, while rotating my protein option, but have not had a bad dish yet. This restaurant is delicious and worth a special trip from the city.
Be the first to ReplyThe prices were high, and the taste was just okay.
Considering the cost, the overall dining experience might not be the best value for money.

Friend suggested this place to celebrate our friend's birthday. We made reservations for 6:30. It was pretty empty by the time we arrived. Easy street parking. Love the outside lights. Great place for a romantic dinner or group celebration. We ordered: Poh pia: 3/5 similar to Vietnamese spring rolls. Martabak: 5/5 similar to samosas, nice fried outside layer, super tasty filling. Wok fried eggplant: 4/5 good Sayur lodeh: 5/5 a little kick to this curry, really tasty! Mei goreng: 3/5 a little sweet, ok Papaya beef curry: 4/5 good big chunks of beef Coconut rice: 4/5 coconut wasn't over powering Garlic noodles: 3/5 I have had a lot better Sesame crème brûlée: 4/5 interesting! Strong black sesame flavor, good consistency Ginger chocolate cake: 4/5 good moist and a hint of ginger Mung bean pudding: 4/5 tastes more like vanilla than mung bean. Friendly efficient service. They comped our deserts and brought out a candle for the bday girl.

Food was good , I would say above average and service was good as well. I and friend went for lunch midweek. The overall environment was work people having business talk. I wish there was more energy overall since it was Thursday. I am going to try once in the evening to give my final verdict. It definitely missed something for me - not sure what . May be it is 3.5 rating.
Be the first to ReplyINDO is a pretty spacious place, both inside and outside
INDO is a pretty spacious place, both inside and outside with the patio an ideal place for lounging when it's not too hot and sunny. However, don't come looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine here. That being said, this could be just the right place for introducing your palate-timid friends to the cuisine. I am nowhere close to being knowledgeable on Indonesian cuisine but even I can tell this ain't authentic! The spicy Basil Chicken was evocative of a Thai curry; a dish I thought it would be a dry/wet stir-fry as opposed to a curry. The accompanying coconut Jasmine rice was really good though! it had a nice bite with a slightly sticky texture. I presume it was cooked in coconut milk, the toasted coconut flakes sprinkled on top worked really well. On another note, the mango papaya salad was delicious! All in all, INDO has decent food, some lovely drinks, and good service. I am quite confident you won't be disappointed if you're here to have a nice time with friends and family, as opposed to looking for authentic dishes.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for a work party and were not disappointed.
The interior is warm, calming, with some SE Asian / Buddhist art for display. The bar in the front is an amazing place to lounge and hang out. Although we were served the food buffet style, I can pinpoint a few items that might interest you. the Poh Pia is amazing, and a great appetizer for your party. You get all the flavor and textures. For protein definitely go for the Bali Rib, beef curry, gulai prawns, and the yellow chicken curry. This should be a good variety that will give you a sense of what INDO has to offer. They also have drinks such as Thai Iced Tea which are quite good as well.
Be the first to ReplyAs an Indonesian, I don't think their food is authentic.
We had the satay, nasi goreng, and gulai prawn. The satay was decent, but everything else was just so so. Nothing was screaming Indonesian to me. I wasn't impressed by the nasi goreng, it's missing some of the hallmark Indonesian flavor. The gulai prawn, with just 3 prawns, while was tasting okay, was way way overpriced....

Great local food choice! The food is delicious and the ambiance is event better the outdoor seating is a plus and service is great! We usually come in big groups and they are so accommodating.
Be the first to ReplyFood was PERFECT.
I worked in a high end Singaporean restaurant for ten years and it's hard to find anything close to this level of authenticity and quality. Phenomenal service from Juan, as well. Highly recommend!!
Be the first to ReplyINDO - is a bad partner if you are throwing a party.
We engaged INDO for a party for ~38 team members at roughly $3870. We selected nine of their bottles of wine that anyone could have on our team and said there would likely also be some cocktails. Total bill for ~38 guests = $8600. Why so high?INDO was displaying $240 bottles of wine and 15 year old single malt scotch prominently (in front of our many wine selections which were behind the bar not on the bar) to guests. How in the world could INDO staff think that opening $240 Silver Oak (roughly 4X our highest price bottle) was OK? Why was INDO serving our team cocktails with top shelf alcohol at $36 per glass? Why were these even on display aggressively? Why was there a big tip jar in front of the bar when we were contractually paying a 20 percent tip? Note that we effectively paid $50 in tip AND $20 tax for each bottle of Silver Oak they opened. Worse than the added costs (~$1000) was the fact that they were intentionally encouraging our team member guests to be bad actors. I reached out to INDO directly and have had no response. Hopefully can help you avoid this situation.
Be the first to ReplyHad a wonderful time here with my husband.
Came on a Saturday night with a reservation. It was a very nice day and their outdoor seating is set up so nicely so we opted to sit outside. Ordered a bottle of wine our server recommended followed by a couple appetizers and main courses. The food was phenomenal. Would definitely recommend.

I ordered take out online and even though my order was delayed because of internet lag or whatever techy thing happened, the staff was friendly and helpful to resolve the issue immediately and able to get my lunch in a timely manner. Neat space, cool bar, tasty food. chicken pad Thai and papaya mango salad

I came to check out this restaurant with a few friend on a Friday night. We made a reservation day of and saw the restaurant was only half full when we arrived for dinner around 7:30pm. The vibe is a bit more romantic and formal than I expected but we were happy to try a Southeast Asian restaurant in the Bay. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share family style. Some of the highlights were the Roti Prata (definitely get 1 to share between every 2 people), Bali Pork Ribs (delicious and super tender), and the Garlic Noodles / Mie Goreng (both noodles were great - we got the garlic noodles w/o protein). A couple of the other dishes were just ok including the Duck Kapitan, Seafood Green Curry, and Green Bean Sambal. The flavors were ok but some were too sour and for the price, the portions are pretty small.Overall, it's pretty pricey for what you get and rice is not included with the entrees and we added on a large rice which was close to $10 in of itself. This spot seems popular with larger groups but I'd say it's better to get your own dish rather than sharing since the portions are not easy to split.

Hard to find really good Gado Gado ANYWHERE but this is pretty legit. Small portion sizes, but what you would expect from a fancier Asian restaurant. The Coconut Rice was also really good. Not pictured was the Papaya Beef Curry and it was the closest they had to beef rendang. Really good and not overly spicy that it overtakes the flavor. Lastly we ordered the Mie Goreng and it was tasty! I couldn't bring my family here because the portion sizes wouldn't suffice, but it was perfect for a date night. Where the place went wrong was the hot sauce wasn't authentic Indonesian hot sauce. They should have offered sambal but ended up getting a standard Asian hot sauce (can't remember if it was Siracha). Overall good date spot and nice ambiance!

As a person that ate instant indo mi goreng their whole lives and never had a bit of Indonesian food, this place was a good exposure to Indonesian cuisine. Came in with a party of 6 with a reservation and were seated immediately. The interior part of the restaurant is very dimly lit, so you'll need to keep that in mind for those who are hard of sight. The outside looks more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and it would have been nice to sit out there. Our server was very knowledgeable with the menu and gave us recommendations for drinks and food. We ended up ordering 8 (maybe 9) dishes. We ordered the mi goreng, roti prata, papaya salad, balado beef, chicken goreng, black pepper prawns, chciken satay, spicy basil chicken. I might be missing something but all dishes were really good! I wish they were spicier cause they were all pretty neutral. The indomie was a bit spicy but there wasn't that kick it needed. The other dishes were really good and the unique thing is that all the meat was extremely tender. Additionally, if you're Vietnamese, the beef dishes tastes like bo kho! We told our server that it was our friend's birthday and we brought a mung bean coconut dessert for free! That's great service. Parking is a bit tight. Overall great restaurant and experience.
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Thursday night around 6:30 PM.
My party of 3 walked in (no reservation) and we were seated immediately, so weekday nights might be good times to visit (not sure how crowded it is during the weekend). We saw online that there was a happy hour from 5-7 PM but upon looking at the menu, we didn't see this option. However, we asked a server and he told us that we had to sit at the bar/couch area, and he helped us move over so that we could enjoy it before it ended. During the happy hour, we ordered:Roti Prata (5/5): So so so good, especially for the $7 happy hour price! The roti is so easy to eat with some crisp to it, and the yellow curry it comes with is such a great dip. Tofu Goreng (3.5/5): The tofu is a little crispy, which adds a nice texture. There wasn't really anything wrong with this but it just didn't wow me. It was also $7. Pear and Ginger Mule (4.5/5): A solid classic mule with a lil twist to it with the pear. Always a safe choice to get a mule, and this did not disappoint. Passionfruit Caipirinha (5/5): Great cocktail with a spicy rim. It was my first time having a cocktail with cachaca (made from sugarcane juice), and I really enjoyed this one. For the main meal, I got the Mie Goreng (4/5). This was delicious! I wouldn't say it was spicy (it says it in the description) but it was tasty nonetheless. My one complaint is that I wish the shrimp didn't come with the tails on. Overall, I was very satisfied with my visit here! I think their happy hour is very well worth it, with the drinks and appetizers being $7.

It is so hard to find good SouthEast Asian food around here and I have to say that Indo Restaurant & Lounge hits the sweet spot. The food, the service and the interior are all just perfect. My fave cuisines here are the sea bass that melts in your mouth, the Bali pork with the perfectly balanced sauce and come right off the bones, the mie goreng/noodles are great and you can ask for non-spicy so it's kids friendly. Others that I also like are the pork ribs (so tender), salmon, string beans sambal, the tofu, and the list goes on.

Big fan! They have a parking lot in the back and ample waiting space though I do recommend making a reservation. We were a party of 6 and they were so accommodating. We were seated immediately upon arrival since we made a reservation. All the servers and hosts were so friendly! What we ordered:- Nasi goreng - Seabass - Sambal tofu - Pad thai - Spicy basil chicken- Wok fried eggplant - 3x indosphere - 2x Passion fruit caipirinha- Pomegranate peartini Honestly I'd order everything again but if I had to pick a favorite dish and favorite drink, it'd be the seabass and the passion fruit caipirinha! Can't wait to come back and try more :-)

This is a favorite spot for us because if the absolutely lovely & spacious outdoor dining area. Service is also always on point- excellent. My office has come here for many lunches & my family booked a large Bday party here before. Everyone satisfied & good drinks too! It's not like super authentic (my Fam is Thai/Viet/Chinese/Pilipino) so we'd prefer more spice/ fish sauce but...well, it's Palo Alto. For this region- it's yummy! Sea bass is our fave but it's $40- noodle dishes start at like $13- family style dining is the way to go! Also we like the Easy parking, clean rest room.
Be the first to ReplyLast minute decision and we tried Indo.
Good choice. It was very busy and the kitchen waiting time was long but the staff were nice and helpful about it. The wine was very good (Austin Hope) and less than 2x mark up, which was nice for a change. The food was very good, not very spicey but it was very tasty. Rendang Chicken was good and my wife enjoyed the Salmon. We got an order of shrimp crackers (Krupuk) not on the menu, a traditional Indonesian snack, which we love. And we even had desert. So all in all it was a very good experience. Highly recommended.

It's been a number of years since I dined here with former colleagues from my airline catering days and like my last visit came here on a beautiful warm and sunny day for dinner with my family at 6:30 pm on a Friday nite. The food was just as great as I remembered from my last visit and my brother who is from Asia who usually remarks that when I ask him how the Asian food where we take him in the Bay Area is he remarks - that " it's okay." Readers will understand what he means if you have traveled to places like Singapore or Hong Kong and eaten the Asian food there. At any rate, food was great and he remarked that he loved everything that we ordered. I was hoping to say hello to Tommy who is the owner and friends of someone whom we both know who works at Original Joes Westlake but he was not in on that day as I wanted to tell him that the food is still just as consistent from my previous visits. Thank you to the staff at Indo and to the Hispanic server who waited on us on 7/22.

My party of 3 came by on a Sunday evening and there were plenty available tables right away. We ordered the Bali ribs, roti prata, chicken satay, mie goreng, and pad Thai. Overall, everything was pretty good but I've had better at other spots. The Bali ribs were pretty great though, the meat slid right off the bone. The mie goreng tasted pretty basic and something you could quickly stir fry at home. Nothing in particular really wowed us. In my opinion, I think most mom and pop shops are able to do these dishes better with that extra flavor and love. Service was good though!
