Had an amazing experience with my girls.
It was a 7 course fine dinning dinner menu designed by Chef Nina Compton. It has a New Orleans influence. Everything made me want to jump on a plane to New Orleans asap. The only thing I wasn't in love with was the stew, it was a bit too salty for me. Overall everything was so good. The oysters to start was amazing and the biscuits with honey butter beat out the bacon fat for me. Our waiter was Keby, he was so patient and knowledgeable with all of our questions and explanations of each dish. He really made our experience pleasant. I would highly suggest you go before the chef or place closes. I don't think it's a permanent restaurant. We did a little celebration at midnight to bring in.m the new year. Also underrated but the bathroom is a vibe. The toilets seats were warm.

Very sad to learn this wonderful establishment is about to closeI'll sneak in this review of my first, and will be only, experience here - very unforgettable! We throughly enjoyed every bit of our meal from Compere Lapin. Please let my photos speak for themselves!
Be the first to ReplyNina Compton is in the house!! This wonderful restaurant
Nina Compton is in the house!! This wonderful restaurant has fabulous chefs in residence for a period and the James Beard award winner currently in the kitchen is the bomb! She brings some specialties from her two NOLA restaurants to give us NYers a taste of the bayou--laced with her West Indies heritage. The tasting menu had hush puppies (of course), fried pickles (don't make that face), deviled eggs topped with crumbled voodoo chips (I'm stealing this tip), crab backs filled with pure deliciousness. For my main course I had the duck-- tender, Smokey and yummy. Dessert was passion fruit ice cream with chocolate decadence--sign me up for second. Well done chef!
Be the first to ReplyDrinks are strong and beautifully presented.
Unless you have a reservation made for the bar or restaurant upstairs, there is no guaranteed seating. You're still welcome to relax in the lounge and allowed the leisure of the drink and snacks menu. Beautifully designed!! Lexus definitely know what they're up to.
Be the first to ReplyI went last month (Nov 2021) for the Compere Lapin pop-up.
I've never seen such a fantastic menu where I literally could have ordered and enjoyed everything. It was very hard to Choose what to get...which is why our bill ended up costed $300 for 2 people. The price is the only reason I'm not giving it a 5/5. The dishes we ordered were delish but way overpriced IMO. That $300 did include 4 drinks as drinks were $20+ each. We ordered the HAMACHI CEVICHE, GUAVA TAMARIND GLAZED PORK BELLY, SPICE ROASTED DUCK, SHORT RIB "BURNT ENDS" and BEIGNETS. Everything was great! The sunchokes that came as a side with the short rib were sooo good as well. The prices for these dishes were like double what they'd be at the actual restaurant in NOLA though, so next time I'd prob just rather fly to NOLA for 1/2 the price lol.
Be the first to ReplyTop 3 meals I've had this year.
I came in with very, very high expectations and was delighted that they were exceeded. Not that I should've been surprised; if you watch top chef, you know about chef Nina and then add to that the top notch staff at Intersect you will be overly satisfied and then plan for a future visit ASAP.Huge shout-out to our server Bobbi. She was the absolute, friggin best. Hope to the higher powers you get her when you visit.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed this lounge quite a bit.
I needed some solo R&R after a busy week of events.Love the atmosphere and the service. The drinks? Eh, they don't seem strong.Yet, they sneak up on you.I'm a fan.If only they could have a location on the east side though.

Intersectnyc offers chefs and guests the chance to try foods from restaurants from near and far. Great concept! The restaurants newest Resident is chef @ninacompton who is from St. Lucia and has 2 restaurants in New Orleans! Comperelapin When I saw she was going to be here, I jumped at this chance since I haven't been to New Orleans as yet. Honestly there were only 3 things on the menu that I wouldn't recommend out of what we ordered. 2 if you don't count the pork belly since that based on preference and not taste. Everything else was absolutely divine! RUN HERE DRINKSNo Go cupBest Bank PunchShirley Temple The Best of the Best DEVILED EGGS (I love a good deveiled egg! So I ordered another batch to go) Buttermilk Biscuits (Absolutely delicious! Freshly baked and came with Bacon Butter and Honey Butter~ the bacon butter was good but the honey took the cake )CURRIED GOAT (the goat, the sauce, the sweet potato gnocchi... one word SUPERB)Other Items we ordered: SCIALATELLIShrimp, Rundown SauceCRISPY PIG EARSSmoked AioliSOURSOP SEMIFREDDOCoconut, Cucumber, CeleryWe were beyond skeptical about this dessert Cucumber and Celery But everything paired well and it was refreshing like our Waitress said. It has a frozen coconut oil which made it whimsical in a sense. BEIGNETSPecan Buttercream, Rhum CaramelA must order!Wouldn't Recommend...PORK BELLY (too much fatty, didn't realize it would be since it's the belly)DUCK (No taste, too chewy, don't get it. The dirty rice that came with it was great though, good flavor)SHRIMP (The Shrimp on it's own had no flavor. The Sauce however was very tasty. Definitely carried the weight in the taste department)
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I followed this opening from when we saw it
My husband and I followed this opening from when we saw it announced somewhere on our social medias. We tried to book ahead of time for the Manresa residence, but of course, the first few weeks we were available were booked solid. By some miracle, when we had a reservation for the bar downstairs to at least absorb the space, I happened upon a last-minute opening for Manresa online to which I pounced on right away. The service was as impeccable as expected, very attentive when needed but gave us adequate privacy. The seats and tables were pretty close together, so you may be able to overhear entire conversations if you yourself are not in an animated conversation. The bathrooms for the whole building are in the first floor, so for anyone with tiny bladders like mine - expect racing up and down stairs for it. I must say, though, the bathrooms are one of the best, modern public bathrooms I've ever used! The food was delicious - none that I feel I would specifically return for, but tasty, nonetheless. I had the chocolate crescent dessert and that's so far what I would crave for.
Be the first to ReplyThis is, without question, one of the most stellar
This is, without question, one of the most stellar under-the-radar NYC experiences. It's amazing to me that this doesn't get the hype it deserves, but that's all the more better for those in the know!We were here for the opening night of the Compere Lapin restaurant residency, an incredible Caribbean cuisine transplant from New Orleans. Initial impressions: this place is cool. Sleek, upscale design, with a warm, buzzy ambiance. There was even a live jazz band playing, which was a lovely touch! The food was phenomenal, among the best we've had in the city (not a compliment we throw around lightly!) We started with the ceviche and pork belly; both were great, but we especially liked the combination of the passionfruit with the citrusy and lightly spicy kick in the ceviche. For entrees, we went with the adobo pork tenderloin and shrimp scialatelli, and again, both excelled. Dessert is also a must, and the beignets paired with a rich rum-caramel dipping sauce were on par (or heck, better) than any we've had even on trips to NOLA. The drinks are also spectacular, with special nods to the Andromeda and the Ruby Lo-Ball.Honestly, we could've made a whole other selection with all the dishes we were tempted by and passed on ... which means we'll definitely be back before this residency wraps in February-ish (according to our waiter)! For how good this is, it's insane how relatively available reservations are. Take advantage of that while it lasts!
