Went into purchaseFish.
Picked the fish I wanted and gaveTo the guy to clean. He made a face at me and then saidSomething in CHINESE and they all laughed. Are you kidding me??? I will NEVER shop here again. I always go to 8th ave for all of my fish. Ithis place does not deserve my money. Guess they do not like American people to shop here only CHINESE. Radiate. Reverse discrimination. Totally offended.

If you aren't Asian you will be stared at, laughed at, and talked about in Chinese. They were laughing too hard to even tell me my total in english.(Not very welcoming if you ask me) Also this place smells like someone died in there. I can smell it just by walking past on the sidewalk. The smell makes me want to vomit.
Be the first to ReplyMy family used to buy groceries here.
. but it's been forever( at least it feels like it to me lol) now that there's other markets around 86street, we dont come often.... i only come here for the snacks since they have a whole aisle for it... although prices are a bit expensive...
Be the first to ReplyI wish I could give this place 0 star.
I live in the area and it's the closest Asian supermarket to me. I used to come here often but I realized they always sell spoiled or non-fresh fruits or vegetables. Meat is not fresh as well. I went back to get some Japanese ice cream mochi and red bean ice bar today. The mochi ice cream is all melt and it cost $5. I will never go back again.

I guess I am a lover of all things Asian, food, culture, women (especially that last one) and having just gotten a wok this past xmas I have been making frequent trips here for supplies. The aisles are a bit cramped but most supermarkets in NY are. No sure about the fish or meat but my coworker has bought seafood from here and was impressed. I use it for the great array of sauces, spices and condiments. Also bought my fist tea steeper here as I decided its time to start making tea like a grown up and the variety of teas they sell is really large. The checkout ladies are a tad gruff but she did open up my steeper and show me it was all intact so points for that. Nice selection of noodles and Asian shrimp chips,
Be the first to ReplyThey only carry farm raised GMO shrimp now.
Quality has gone way down.

Its close and very handy if your short on an ingredient for a recipe at the last moment !! Decent prices , not too pricy . If you live around the area its a supermarket at a very convenient walking distance.

This supermarket is smaller than other Chinese supermarkets I've been to - whether it be in 8 avenue or Chinatown. The aisles are small and a bit crowded. I wouldn't buy fruits and vegetables here because everything looks brown with fruit flies dissecting the produce. I usually buy seafood and meat here and it seems fairly fresh. The cashiers are a bit cranky at times, but they don't give you major attitude (I mean...it's probably from being on their feet all day)..The snacks here are cheap to buy and Sun Hing has a wide variety.
