So good, all these locations are bomb.
I know they are only hand roll, but I really hope they add some more sashimi options, omg and a soft shell crab ap, a guy can dream. Either way it's always a Japanese-lounge-vibe in side, great for friends who are catching up or the solo human on the go.

What can I say? The food is perfect, the concept is perfect, parking is easy... they just got it right. 10/10 would recommend. My trick is to go during "off times" to avoid the wait. I love the open bar vibe, very communal but still able to enjoy a little privacy. The staff is super friendly too.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing treat after our visit to LACMA.
Hands down, the best sushi hand rolls I've ever had.
Be the first to ReplyKazunori is one of my favorite restaurants.
They're extremely consistent; no matter what location I go to the food and service is always great. I typically go for the 5 hand roll combo with Toro, Yellowtail, Bay Scallop, Crab and Lobster. My favorites are definitely the Toro and Bay Scallop. As usual, everything was delicious and very fresh. I love that the chefs pay attention and know exactly when to make your next hand roll. An added bonus of this location is that they offer validation for the parking garage located right next door. Since parking can get a bit tricky and expensive in LA, not having to worry about it is definitely a huge plus.

I usually love kazunori and come once a week to a different location and have never had a a problem, even when going in near close. I came in with a group of 2 others at 9m on a monday to this location. while we waited in line (as to be expected) one of the servers came up and told us that they were out of both scallops and lobster. they substituted them for two other fish, but then would not let me substitute for the fish they usually do from the lobster. instead of paying $24 for five hand rolls they advised me to get the three hand roll set an add to roll is what you end up being $33. They said there was no way around this. I'm so sad booooooooo

take forever and 2. be expensive. But it was neither. I'm so pleasantly surprised!Since they don't take reservations, I got there around 6 PM on a Sunday night and waited just over 15 minutes before being seated. They put out menu cards so you make all the decisions before you even sit down. Honestly, I'm so impressed with their process. It's incredibly efficient. Once you are seated, you'll get fresh water, ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce immediately. The first hand roll then arrived within 2 minutes. Each roll I got on my set menu was incredible. It's nothing very fancy, but there's something about crispy nori, warm rice, and fresh seafood that is amazingly satisfying. And you have to eat it right when they hand it to you! Even by the last bite, it ends up being slightly soggy compared to when you first get it. While I've had plenty of sushi before, I've definitely never had anything like this. The Bay Scallop hand roll was by far my favorite. It was so creamy and flavorful. I would've been happy just eating 5 of those and nothing else. They have such a well thought out system. The sushi chefs in the middle of the bar have a screen with a timer to make sure no one goes too long between rolls. All in all, it is a very quick service.

If you don't mind the long wait , This place is amazing! Small counter service, no frills incredibly fresh hand rolls. The Nori is so light and crispy The presentations not going to light up your Instagram but the taste and quality will have you back every day in mid city .They have free validated parking which is definitely a big plus

A great faster version of the famous sugarfish! KazuNori serves up the warm hand rolls with the same quality fish as their parent company. I will say that they have faster delivery services. I have only been to the DTLA location in person but always order from this one through postmates. It hits the spot!

Food is always amazing and the service is great! Highly recommend. Worth the drive and worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyBusy spot.
Clearly there's no reservations so first come first serve but the line is fast and the concept is cute, bar sitting around the sushi chefs. It's an intimate dining experience and everyone's sitting next to each other on a U shape bar area. They're specialized on hand rolls- so only hand rolls. We got the 6 hand roll menu. It was so filling, I would definitely do 4 next time or 5 if I am really hungry. They only have cold sake.Fast service. Good food.

Fresh fish! Everything was delicious all the way up to the rice. Love the to go packaging. Love the ambiance! A nicely dim lit cute dinner spot. Service was great. Everyone was friendly. We opted for takeout since there was a line and a full house on a Friday night. It took about 20 minutes to get the food and everything was still tasty when it got home. Be sure to get the 2 hour parking validation next door!
Be the first to ReplyReminds me of din tai fung where you have to wait for each
Reminds me of din tai fung where you have to wait for each roll to be made. Not a bad concept except you have to eat and portion your food out slowly. Honestly probably for the better. I think the freshness of the seaweed & the stickiness of the rice overpowered the fish though. I had to pick the fish apart to really taste it's unique flavors. The yam hand roll was probably my favorite, it had a really good umami taste to it
Be the first to ReplyKazuNori is possibly serving the best hand rolls in LA.
And between me and my boyfriend I think we tried one of every type and they're all amazing. My particular favorites are the blue crab, lobster, scallop and uni. The wilshire location is small but accommodating & the staff super kind. They don't allow the option for tipping and add 16% on top of your bill, which I'm not mad about. This is the perfect place for lunch or a quick & light dinner. We went after we went to the Peterson automative museum and it was the perfect afternoon. So glad this place is walking distance from our home. Will be back often.

4.5 stars! Saw this place on instagram and wanted to check it out. I came around 12:45p on a Friday and was seated right away after having my vax card checked. The bar was pretty full. A server came over right away with a pencil and menu and asked me if it was my first time. When I told her it was, she began explaining the menu and what I could sub out from the set menu if I wanted to. Since it was my first time, I opted to go with the five hand roll set menu, which is toro, yellowtail, bay scallop, crab, and lobster. I also ordered an iced green tea, which was really good - it's basically cold brew matcha. Then it's sort of just a sit and wait game. There was one chef making all the hand rolls for everyone at the bar. He had a computer screen next to him which I assume was to help him keep track of what people had ordered and what they would be getting next. He comes over, says what kind of roll it is, and drops it off on the piece of paper in front of you. The rolls are really simple, but I like that. Just rice (but really good rice), nori (perfectly crisp), and the filling. And then your wasabi+soy sauce. I thought all the fillings were really good. My favorite? Maybe the scallops. Or the toro. The crab was good too, lol. Only pain point was that some of the rice would fall out the other end while I was eating it, so it's not packed in. But I was probably just eating it wrong? But very tasty. Since there were so many people around the bar, it was like at least five minutes or more between each of my hand rolls. So I think I spent about half an hour. I definitely could've eaten more, but I like that I wasn't overly full. It was a good amount for a light lunch or for a snack or round 1. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in LA (just found out that there's a location in K-town) and next time I'll pick some different hand rolls (like shrimp, salmon, and eel)!

Nice rice nice seaweed but the seating is quite uncomfortable. Its best to eat the handrolls right away before they get soggy. If you want more authentic Japanese style dont go here!

I was skeptical of how good a hand roll could be, but was blown away - I could eat here for lunch or dinner ANY day. BUT don't expect to be seated quickly - I got in line around 7:50 on a Thursday evening and waited about 45 min before getting seated for a table of 3 at the sushi bar. I got the 6 hand roll set, and replaced scallops with another toro roll, and also added an unagi hand roll. They serve the hand rolls one at a time in a specific order, omakase style, which is necessary because the because the hand rolls are made fresh before your eyes, and the seaweed needs to stay crisp. The fish is SO fresh (the toro, my favorite piece, literally melts in your mouth), the rice is delicious (has a sweetness to it), and the seaweed is so crunchy. I don't think I could ever get tired of kazunori...I love it even more than Sugarfish, the sister restaurant. In addition to good food, I really liked the dark romantic vibe...it's an intimate setting, but isn't uncomfortably quiet - MY FAVORITE!

Pros: - We were seated immediately after they checked our vax cards and ID- The rolls were pretty good. We got the 6 piece, and I liked scallop and lobster the most. - Validated parking right next to the restaurantCons: - I know it's a Kazu Nori thing but it feels so weird to sit that close to other people. We were accidentally bumping into people the whole dinner - No Apple Pay
Be the first to ReplyHad lunch with my client yesterday afternoon.
We were seated immediately after being checked for vaccination records. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was warm and delicious. The tea is good too. Thank you.

We arrived at 1pm on a Saturday and there was no wait at all. We walked over like 5 minutes from the LACMA so can't say much about parking. All day parking at the LACMA is $18 though. The staff was very nice and the food came out quick. I got the 4 set roll finished eating after about 35 minutes ย the 4 set combo is a comfortable portion size. It wasn't necessarily filling but more like a solid snack/appetizer meal. Good before a heavy dinner. If you're coming here to be full though, I would definitely order 10+ rolls. The rice was great and almost comparable to Sugarfish's sushi rice which is also tasty. It's slightly warm which helps soften the seawood outside. The fish inside is mashed and chopped very finely so honestly, I couldn't tell what fish was which except for the crab. It was all super tasty though. I'm not sure if there's an elegant way to eat this without spilling the rice and most everyone ate with their hands. Their bathroom is decent so definitely take advantage before you eat. I honestly shoved half the roll in my mouth...Pretty tasty stuff but I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes. It's also very casual with a U shaped bar and some patio dining. Definitely recommend you eat at the bar so you can watch them make rolls.
Be the first to ReplyCome here to one of these three restaurants at least three
Come here to one of these three restaurants at least three times a week. Likely never again after tonight's parking experience. They trap you in the garage after 9 pm because no one is working. Their "validation machine" was down and everyone just kept passing blame to another party and we literally we are all trapped.
Be the first to ReplyA friend of mine has only good things to say about this
A friend of mine has only good things to say about this local chain. ย So I decided to try at this location, only one block away from the Academy Museum and LACMA. ย Their set menus have the best deals, especially if you want to try the different kinds of fish and seafood. ย I ordered the 4 hand roll set, and add a shrimp hand roll out of curiosity. ย All of them are very delicious. ย Do get there early to beat the crowd.
Be the first to ReplyThe sushi was very fresh and we had great service.
Expect to wait in line for a good 30-45 minutes on a busy night. You can not make reservations. Also I would recommend to go for drinks first or after if you are on a date.
