Good gelato option in the Macau World Heritage area
A good dessert stop in the Macau World Heritage area is Kika, a Japanese style gelato shop that opened up around four years ago on Travessa da Se near the Lou Kau Mansion. Opening hours are 10.30am to 10pm daily.
They offer a wide range of gelato flavours making us of Japanese and local ingredients from here in Macau. Popular choices are matcha, green tea, sakura, milk as well as more traditional western flavours like pistachio, cookies and cream, chocolate and coffee. You pay by the scoop and can choose cup or cone.
Kika gelato is smooth, creamy and of good flavour! They have been really good since arriving on the food scene in the Historic Centre of Macau.
Tasty Japanese style gelato in the city centre
Kika is a Japanese style gelateria located in the Historic Centre of Macau. You can find this shop along Tv. Da Se, just next to LemonCello and the World Heritage - Lou Kau Mansion. Opening Hours are 10.30am to 10pm daily.
Kika offers a range of expected and creative gelatos which you can buy by the scoop in a cup or cone. You pay by the number of scoops. Their prices are the same as LemonCello next door but serving sizes larger.
Importantly, their gelato tastes pretty good, worth trying if you are seeking desserts while browsing the World Heritage attractions in the area. We tried Pistachio and Milk & Caramel and enjoyed both flavours. The gelato was smooth, a bit softer then Italian gelato but still of nice texture. Flavours were natural and not too sweet. Pistachio was lightly nutty with a long aftertaste. Milk gelato also tasted natural, added caramel was a nice touch.
Overall, Kika is pretty good, a nice treat on a hot summer day or after enjoy richly flavoured Macanese food in the area.
