Had a wonderful dinner here.
Started off with the duck foie gras, and my friend ordered the duck terrine. The foie gras was creamy, buttery and just delicious on the toast points. So memorable. I also adored the duck terrine With cornichons and hot mustard. For entrées, we ordered the duck breast and the filet mignon. The filet was extremely tender and I truly enjoyed the port wine reduction and The crispy potato croquette, as well as the shallot rings. The duck breast was a taste sensation, accompanied by a crisp wild Rice and buttered vegetables. But now for dessert... The pistachio soufflé was amazing! So light and fluffy. I also really liked the lemon meringue tart with it's orange and citrus flavors. Overall, the meal was very memorable, service was excellent, and it was very enjoyable. I will miss this restaurant.

TL/DR: a large VIP party took every server in the restaurant and our meal took over 3 hours start to finish. Our experience tonight, a birthday dinner, was strange to say the least. I preface this by saying that I have come up working as a server and bartender, and understand that sometimes you just have a bad night. We have dined everywhere from diners to 3 Michelin star restaurants. And the food here was incredible and absolutely worth the visit. But the service tonight was unacceptably bad. We were seated immediately but this was the fastest the front of house moved (for us) all night. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes before anyone came, and then this was only to fill water glasses. About 10 minutes after this, a server asked what we wanted to drink; we were not welcomed to the restaurant or provided with menus besides the tasting menu. We were asked if we planned to have the tasting menu, to which we said yes: I also at this point mentioned a nut allergy due to items on the menu that were listed with nuts. When we asked about a wine menu 5 minutes later, this took another 10 to be brought to the table by who appeared to be the head server and not our prior server. This new server also brought us a la carte menus (what should have been a sign that the first server had processed nothing we had said), after which we again stated we planned to have the tasting menu. There was clearly a large VIP party upstairs, as the servers were running like everything was on fire. The number of near crashes between serves coming through the kitchen doors was comical. Once our food started to come, the pace was acceptable though this was about 1 hour after we had been seated. The food was incredible, though the plating was very inconsistent (a minor detail at this point). After four out of six courses, a new server came by to apologize for the speed and to tell us everything would be smooth from then on as the party was wrapped up. At this point I was presented with a course covered in nuts, but could not get a server back to the table for another 5 minutes to get a new plate due to my allergy. From then on, odd items were left off my plates including a butter cookie and rice crackers (neither of which should have nuts?). We then ended the meal with (you guessed it) more nut based pastries, despite another table being presented with a mixture including chocolate cookies. Our coffee was not burnt, which was a nice surprise at this point. However the cups were literally drying and turning into a permanent paste while the head servers talked with the hostess in french for another 30 minutes, until we caught the server's eye for the third time to ask for a check. I filled out a comment card, and then our check was returned with a new blank card so I assume it was thrown out. I was then given a very rushed "Happy birthday" dessert of one half frozen strawberry, a sugar sign reading happy birthday, and a sparkler candle. Essentially inedible and clearly an afterthought. A side note, they don't take Discover cards, which just seems outdated. We were then given what I can only assume was a gift bag with more almond cookies on the way out. The entire night was bizarre and honestly the service completely ruined the experience. Maybe we just happened to have bad luck and be there on a night with a more important party. But not worth the money or three hours of our time.

Nice location - the restaurant is in the house - very romantic location just steps off rye beach ; private parking which is super convenient...Old world decor - expected, as it is a French restaurant- but a bit too old ...Nice ambiance , fresh flowers ( roses) added special touch ... If you are celebrating your bday, anniversary or whatever- restaurant gives you nice souvenir, candles to blow and candies - I find this as a very sweet gesture.Menu - nice variety but prices are a bit high.Food is clean and fresh but nothing French about those dishes ...no flare or taste as you expect from French food restaurant...This restaurant is not a place I would like to return for another experience...

Impressive atmosphere but food did not meet expectations! Dover sole was overcooked, & dessert soufflé was under cooked. We had a soft shell crab as appetizer & they tried to charge us 42.00 for 1 ssc. I got that fixed as well had them take off for soufflé.Won't go back!

Dishes have a really good quality and freshness. Service was really friendly, they brought a wrong dish but were really quick to change it to the right one. One of the best lattes.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant and what a fabulous dining experience this was. In Greenwich for a few days, we had a few really "meh" meals on Greenwich Ave. We'd had a really excellent meal at the Homestead Inn, so I asked for a recommendation and was referred to La Panetiere. One of the chefs at the Inn had worked here previously, so I was excited to try it out. This is a shining diamond of a neighborhood gem restaurant. Housed in what I would refer to as an old, stately cottage in the middle of Rye, the interior is inviting, warm and friendly. We had invited a local friend, and our table for three was in a nice corner of the restaurant where we could catch up quietly and peacefully. My Negroni was excellent, classically done with the three equal parts. Our dover sole meuniere was also perfectly done: imported from Europe, flaky, moist and not overpowered by the sauce which Meuniere preparations sometimes can be. I see some places in the US try to do dover sole, and fail. This was the real deal. Service was impeccable - everything was constantly monitored, but you would never know they were there. The staff were formal, but warm. This was such a nice experience - we had been very busy and traveling for several days so the opportunity to dine in a venue with such a warm, cosy, neighborhood feel while we were on the road was very refreshing.

Quiet and intimate setting. My husband and I were very impressed with the food, gorgeously decorated and well presented. We left the place full and happy. This is going to be tradition from now on.
