Be the first to ReplySmoking pool and too short access to the spa
The setting is nice and the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had, but there are several things to improve for a 4-star hotel. The first is the fact that it is possible to smoke around the outdoor swimming pool: in a place that promotes well-being, we have known better. Then the lack of jacuzzi: you have the choice between bubbles in an outdoor pool with rough walls or a tiny jacuzzi at the indoor pool. Finally, a big disappointment in terms of hours: you can access the spa from check-in (3 p.m.) until 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (check-out times). No possibility of coming early in the evening. If you wish to access the infrastructure after check-out time (from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) you will be asked to pay 25 euros per person. At 395 euros per night with a garden side room, access to the spa should be wider…
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed!!!
We were offered 1 night and 1 6-course meal valid during the week (420 euros anyway!!!) but as we could only go there at the weekend we had to pay an extra 60 euros for a room that was more than mediocre and noisy not at all worthy of a 4 star!!! However, we are not overly demanding people, but when we reported the next day upon our departure the incessant noises of the staff in the kitchen, of water flowing or even a dull roar (from 11 p.m. until after to midnight), we were curtly told that it was a standard room which overlooks the road and we were not entitled to any commercial gesture!!! Not to mention the exorbitant prices of drinks during the meal (although already charged 100 euros per person!!) 7.80 euros for a sparkling fruit juice, 12 euros for a glass of wine and 5 euros for a half bottle of water!!! An insistent sommelier throughout the meal (when we see the prices of the drinks we understand better!!) Really very disappointed especially given the prices charged... The breakfast was ok but not extraordinary either, as was the meal which was good but not up to the price… We really do not recommend this establishment. Damage

The nature room is really very pleasant, spacious. The bedding is comfortable. The designer spa offers a range of services, is rather pleasant and well thought out. An additional jacuzzi would be great. Too many outside people access the spa and it’s a bit like a factory. The restaurant ouch ouch ouch… exorbitant prices for dishes that are quite good but not exceptional. Very long wait! 1h20 between starter and main course. Service to be reviewed for some employees unfortunately. Very disappointed! Quality breakfast but needs to be reviewed on certain points, particularly on the quantity and description of the products offered at the buffet. Missing some essentials. Damage. Finally, no parking space available reserved for hotel guests even though we arrived at 3 p.m. Very well maintained premises and refined decor. We do not recommend this establishment given the price we expect better.

An exceptional restaurant in an exceptional setting followed by impeccable service and modern, uncomplicated cuisine! The products are fresh and work in a way that takes you on a journey into their world. I really recommend this restaurant! PS: congratulations to the pastry chef who introduced us to an extraordinary dessert
Be the first to ReplySucculent meal but ouch ouch ouch the prices
We had a great family lunch. Attentive staff, very pleasant, absolutely perfect meal, very fine and plentiful. On the other hand, the prices are prohibitive. 7€80 for an apple juice, 9€ for a bottle of water.... Okay, it's a luxury hotel restaurant but you feel a bit like a cash cow with prices like that. I find it difficult to understand what justifies selling a fruit juice for three times its distribution price and multiplying the price of a bottle of water by 6 or even 9 (!!)! (yes there are costs for the company, but you shouldn't exaggerate either). Generally speaking, the experience remains very good.
Be the first to ReplyNot worthy of a 4 star
We were looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to relax with friends. What a desappointment ! The standard room that we booked for a mere €280 overlooks the road and is not air-conditioned, probably due to a technical problem which caused water leaks in the ceiling, visible damage in the corridor... Non-smoking room which reeks of cold tobacco. The receptionist then offers us an upgrade for an additional €50… After tough negotiations, we obtain access to the spa until 3 p.m. the next day on a “free” basis, usually you have to leave the room and the spa by 11 a.m. or pay a supplement of €25 to be able to access the spa until 3 p.m. Welcome products not worthy of a 4 star (no body lotion for example). Very cold atmosphere in the room and the corridors which resemble the cold and dark corridor of a cinema. Spa area meh. Many details are left to chance: plastic basket to go to the dirty spa, worn furniture in the room, dusty reception counter. Positive: copious and complete breakfast.
Be the first to ReplyNot the spa experience we were hoping for....
My husband and I spent the weekend here for my birthday in March. We had high expectations after reading the other reviews but were let down by the spa experience, which was a big reason why we decided to visit. The hotel rooms provide nice accommodation and amenities. The hotel staff were not exactly warm and friendly but they were cordial, helpful and polite. The 6-course tasting menu in the on-site restaurant was wonderful - very inventive and excellent value for money. However, the spa really lets this place down. The spa was way too busy. The heater to the outdoor pool was not working so the pool was cold and uninviting, the relaxation room had beds that were too close together that privacy or indeed relaxation was not possible as you were essentially laying next to the couple next to you. And the indoor pool was both busy and noisy - reminding us more of a public pool than a spa pool. The problem is that this hotel does not prioritize their hotel guests. They invite the general public to enjoy the spa as well. This is absolutely fine but they should at least give their hotel guests the chance to book treatments or book the famed "LA PARENTHESE" in advance, first. We booked our hotel room and were never encouraged to book treatments or the 7 senses spa experience in advance if we wanted to avoid disappointment. When we arrived, they told us that everything had been booked for up to two months in advance! It was so disappointing. I wrote to the hotel directly to share my experience but they never wrote back. I don't tend to write negative reviews online but had to share this feedback for my fellow spa-lovers out there. Sadly, in our opinion, it does not warrant its current rating and we won't be going back or recommending this hotel to others. If you are looking for a fantastic spa experience in this area, go to Le Parc Hotel and Yonaguni Spa in Obernai. It's amazing! The spa is out of this world and the hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. For a nearby foodie experience, go to Thierry Schwartz in Obernai. Their cooking is inventive and the presentation is beautiful.
