Excellent start to finish.
This was one of those places I stalked for months so we could be sure to get a reservation. It was worth all the effort, and then some. The welcome was so kind, the service impeccable and the food glorious. We were never hurried along, everyone was personable and wanted to make sure we had the best time. The view is unbelievable, and this place is just incredibly special. We chatted with several other patrons, and all felt the same. I was worried it would be stuffy, and was pleasantly surprised to find I was wrong on that point. It's worth the planning to spend an evening with the wonderful people of La Sponda!

The food was ok, my wife ordered some oysters and these were definitely fresh and could not be any better. We ordered the risotto and had the waiter split it for us since we didn't want to order and appetizers instead ordered a main and shared it, well they charge you an additional 20% just to split the dish, just be aware of this, risotto was undercooked and was really soupy, when asked they didn't really say why. So still ended up paying for it. The beef tortellini with black truffle was decent, nothing to write home about, my partner ordered a white truffle dish and she said this was spectacular. We had the chocolate souffle and that was ok as well, nothing amazing, Gary danko would have put their soufflé to shame. We did get some complimentary taster and a lemon base alcohol drink. Service was great, always had a wait staff come by taking used plates and repouring water etc etc. Ambiance was amazing, after all you are in Positano... if they fail on that then you know the place flops! For almost €400 I don't know if the portions and unique flavors really did it for me. I'd probably skip this place if ever I'm back in Positano.

One need only interact with Aldo and his team to know that La Sponda is truly deserving of its spectacular reputation. What a unique and wonderful place with an exceptional team led by a wonderful man. Atmosphere (5) -- is there a restaurant with a better ambiance than La Sponda? I doubt it. Service (5) -- none better than Aldo and team in our experience. Food (5) -- stellar and well deserving of all its accolades and recognition.
Be the first to ReplyI dined here for lunch.
It was just as amazing as I had hoped it would be. Of course as everywhere I went on the Amalfi coast, the service was outstanding. The view was perfect. I requested a table outside and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing as well. I would highly recommend La Sponda if you are looking for a restaurant in Positano. I believe they book up quick during the peak season so you should make reservations ahead of time.

We dined here one evening last summer and it was absolutely divine! Our vacation to Italy was wonderful, but the one thing we couldn't change was that we were just so HOT everywhere we went. Dinner on the terrace at La Sponda was maybe the only meal that my husband didn't sweat through. The view was spectacular, but it was the breeze that was the real winner! The ambiance was very romantic and the food and service were both exceptional. I would also recommend having a drink at Aldo's or the Don't Worry Bar before dinner.
Be the first to ReplyAmbience is 20/10.
Highly recommend going there early and having a drink and seeing the views of Positano and sunset. It is breath taking and very romantic. Service was amazing. Every dish that was brought out was very tasteful and savory. Seated tuna was cooked to perfection. Don't order dessert because they give you complementary dessert at the end. Restaurant is lit by 400+candles.
Be the first to ReplyIf you like sea food then you may like this place.
There is minimal things without sea food inside of it or on top of it. The portions are small as the ravioli is 45$ and you get a whole six of them. The service is slow, as we sat down for 30 min before the waiter came to get our food order. There was a drink waiter treated us less nicely once we told him we did not want wine for the night. Once we ordered finally bread came and some appetizers after we were there for 40 min. We had the ravioli and the whole chicken which were both tasty but small portions. We ate a pre dinner before as well, as our reservation was not until later. Only didn't cancel as there was a 100$ cancellation fee. The ambiance is neat and the tables are not on top of each other which is nice. They had musicians walking around and playing for each table. Overall it was an experience but would not return.
Be the first to ReplyIt could be incredible, it could be awful.
But trying to get to it was nigh impossible. We finally located the door to La Sirenusa (the hotel which houses La Sponda) but whomever works reception told us that the restaurant only offered lunch to hotel guests. Seems like something that would be worth noting somewhere. Good luck if you're headed this way.
Be the first to Replyawesome hotel great views and service was outstanding.
food was excellent we had fish special and pasta all tasty

On a recent trip to Positano, we were very eager to eat at La Sponda. We read it was a Michelin star with a beautiful view. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment. The food and wine were just ok. We went their for lunch, so maybe dinner would have been different but we felt it was overpriced for what it was. And although we did have a nice view of the water, they sat us at a table where the view of Positano was obstructed. If you decide to give it a try, I would recommend dinner. Perhaps you will have a better experience than we did.
Be the first to ReplyYou definitely need a reservation for this spot.
Service was great, food was great, and the view and ambiance was great as well. I wouldn't say the food + experience was incredible enough to warrant 5 stars - but a solid 4!!! I think it's probably accurately priced - but still did feel a little bit pricey in terms of cocktails and starters. For example our caprese salad was $30.Anyways - an enjoyable experience and tasty meal!
Be the first to ReplyView : spectacular, even at lunch .
But if you can get reservations for dinner you'll get to get the sunset view of the church and the famous view of Positano . Food : we had the pasta with spiny prawns and it was fantastic. Service was impeccable and by gentlemen who belong on catwalk of university laboratories . Definitely fit for Hollywood elite like the Kadashians and Jennera who I read had been frequent guests here at Le Serenuse hotel . If you have a hard time getting reservations your hotel may be able to get you in .
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately this was a pretty disappointing meal.
If you are planning a special dinner in Positano there are better options. Overall, the atmosphere is great but the food was average at best, especially given the cost for two with drinks is likely to run $500. La Serra is a much better option if you are looking for a great meal but the atmosphere is definitely lacking.
Be the first to ReplyLe Sirenuse's Michelin-starred restaurant is truly magical.
If you want a table, be sure to book it months in advance. On the terrace, you're surrounded by lemon trees, hundreds of candles, and musicians playing Italian love songs. Every course of the chef's tasting menu is delicious, and the service and attention to detail leave nothing to be desired.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely beautiful place and restaurant.
Loved the food and vibe. Went with my beautiful gf and did not regret it. If you're in positano, for a romantic trip with your plus one, definitely check out this restaurant. 4.5 star. Have a beautiful video of the musicians playing but can only post snaps

The most stunning restaurant I have ever been to! You will need to make a reservation months in advance to get a window table. Trust me you want a window table the views are breathtaking. The service and food were wonderful. Highly recommend the veal.

We were too last minute to get a dinner reservation for the Michelin dinner menu so we came for lunch. The view infront of the balcony was AMAZING. Probably the best view of the cliffside houses of Positano on the island. But the food was mediocre. We paid $47 CAD for a clam spaghetti, $23 CAD for a basic lemonade, $18 CAD for a basic iced tea, $10 CAD for water... that's robbery. If it didn't have the best view and we weren't on our honeymoon, we wouldn't have come here....

My husband and I went to Positano for our honeymoon and for our first night, we wanted to go somewhere special. Prior to the trip, I tried making a reservation at La Sponda probably 2-3 months before our trip. I was put on the waiting list! I think the restaurant tries to make sure the hotel guests are able to eat first before any outsiders come in. I called that day to see if they had any openings. The woman was very nice and said that I was the first person on the waiting list, but as of now they were booked for the night. I let her know it was our honeymoon and we would love to celebrate there and she let me know she would call me immediately if there was an opening. We went to Franco's Bar, the bar at Le Sirenuse hotel (where La Sponda is located) to get drinks before dinner hoping we would be receiving a call. Luckily, we did! They were able to seat us at 9pm which was fine with us. They light 400 candles every night in their dining room. It is so romantic. We felt like we were so special. The wait staff was so attentive, grabbing my purse, pulling out my chair, putting my napkin on my lap. They had a person who specialized in everything; one for wine, one for bread, one for appetizers, one for entrees. It truly was a great dining experience. They had musicians playing music all night long too. Yes, the dinner was quite expensive, but we would come back again in a heart beat. The service was excellent and the food was DELICIOUS. They bring it out nice and slow which we didn't mind because everything we ate was just so good.
Be the first to ReplyLocated inside Le Sirenuse with a gorgeous viewpoint,
Located inside Le Sirenuse with a gorgeous viewpoint, there's no doubt this place is probably one of the most posh restaurants in town. With that in mind, expect to splurge. Here's my concise review: 1. Location and Ambiance: One of the most romantic restaurants in Positano. We were greeted nicely by the maître d'hôtel and led us to our table. Since the reservation was to celebrate our anniversary, we got primo table overlooking the water. 2. Wine and Libations: A lady had a cart of Champagne/Prosecco and if you want other aperitifs she will take your order. Great selections of wine (to be expected) some fairly reasonable and some are $$$. Like I said, expect to splurge. Our wine glasses were promptly refilled. 3. Food: We started off with zuppetta di cozze e vongole. The mussels and clams were fresh and seasoned very nicely. I ordered linguine alla putanesca *insert chef's kiss here*, and my husband ordered their ravioli special with ricotta and buffalo mozzarella filling in tomato and basil sauce. As expected, great dishes. The linguine was very flavorful with the right proportions of tomatoes, olives and capers. We ended our meal with 2 espressos and they brought a little dessert sample (small cookies topped with panna cotta).4. Service: from start to finish the service was impeccable, very attentive. But then again you would expect that from such a place. 5. Cost: Pricey but not unreasonable considering where it is, the quality of food, and the service that you get.

Famously popular for its exquisite views, design and its Michelin Star Restaurant La Sponda is worth booking a table month in advance if not before. Inside the dreamy former summer house of four Neapolitan brothers turned 58 room luxury resort is Le Sirenuse. If you've seen photos of Positano there's a good chance you've seen photos taken here. While not offering the Michelin menu, I suggest going for a late lunch for more attention and table with the best view. Besides it's the same service and quality just different menu. Arrive early to capture amazing photos of the property to encourage your friends to add Positano to their bucket list, if they haven't already. Giulio has helped me both times I've been there, and a year later he remembered me. So cool!Everything is really good, but the Amalfi is known for seafood so take advantage while down there.

La Sponda is a high end restaurant in Hotel Le Sirenuse in the center of Positano. The food is excellent, even if not traditional Amalfi Coast cuisine. The service is great and the wine list is excellent. On the terrazza overlooking Positano, few places can provide the food, service and view that La Sponda does. Well worth the trek to the hotel.

Wow. The views are breathtaking and spectacular. We stopped in for cocktails which were a pricey $30 each. Ouch. We looked at getting appetizers or potentially grabbing dinner but the menu was small and nothing really stood out to us. Service was prompt and attentive. I was expecting the drinks to be mind blowing but they were just average. The presentation of the cocktails was beautiful and oddly the accompanying snacks made me drop my panties. The snacks were the greenest and nuttiest olives, truffle salted potato chips and roasted almonds that tasted like pretzels. The outdoor seating area has the best views of Positano and we happened to be there while the sun was setting. The other seating area is a bit more lively with music and a complete raw bar setup. My preference was the quieter side where you could just enjoy the views with soft conversations in the background.Grand total was $67.53 and worth every bit of our panoramic views for 2 hours.
Be the first to ReplyWe just spent three lovely nights here.
It is so worth every cent. It is an experience I will never forget. Our room was gorgeous. I've been fortunate enough to stay at a lot of hotels all over the world and this may be the top of the top. It's not just the beauty of the view, the staff and I mean every single person we encountered on this property is truly five star level!! We spent a lot of our time enjoying this place and already we are trying to figure when we can return. I actually teared up leaving because I so wanted to extend our trip here. Positano takes hold of you and I didn't want to leave. The pool, the champagne bar, La Sponda... exquisite!! They also have several daily activities that are no extra charge included. We took a boat tour with several other guests (small group) that was so fun!! Took us along coast and had spot we could all jump in water for a swim and served bellinis. What a stay!!Many thanks Le Sirenuse!
