Great food.
Delicious crab fried rice. Yummy pad Thai. Very small restaurant but great food.

Clean, healthy delicious thai that's a bit pricey but definitely the best quality in the UWS
Be the first to ReplyWaitress was a bit gruff.
Couldn't adapt any dish for a vegetarian. Only one dish on the menu for a vegetarian was wok vegetable medley which was a garlic fest and truly awful. Spring rolls were burned in several spots. Chicken lettuce wraps were lacking flavor. Noodles in pad Thai were all stuck together. Two bright spots: shrimp lemongrass soup and the Thai calamari. Won't go back.
Be the first to ReplyTo be fair, I haven't been INSIDE this restaurant in years.
I always get delivery (don't judge). The food is SO good. I crave many things, especially the ginger/garlic sauce. Go. Order. Be adventurous. Get things you don't normally get, or know how to pronounce. Don't get the same boring things. You won't be sorry. Try the wok dishes. Try the crab fried rice or omelette. If they have mango or pumpkin sticky rice dessert, don't miss that.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food.
Always fresh and tasty with good portions. Fresh food, cooked to order. Fast service, very casual dining. Good for a quick lunch or dinner

Land has been one of my favorite UWS restaurants for a while-always great food, service and specials. I really like going to the restaurant but often very crowded since not a large restaurant. So, I suggest delivery or pick up to have at home or bring to a friend's place for lunch or dinner! The usual choices on the menu are always great and consistent - and the specials add a little extra something to the meal! If you like Thai food-Land is definitely a place you should try out and then will frequent!

I'm really sad to say this place used to be great with the previous owner David Banks, but now Land and David's other restaurant Pure Thai have both gone way down in quality. The ingredients Land uses are now cheap and recycled from leftovers, flavor and quality are way off, and service staff is unfortunately unfriendly and uncourteous. I won't ever be coming back here, and hope for their sake they improve things with this new management or make room for something better to replace them.
Be the first to ReplyBland.
I'm sure they cater to not so spicy palates but, the pad se ew barely had any flavor. The jungle curry was flavorful but lacked the punch of the chili and kafir lime is hinted at.The curry puff was ok. As was the vegetable dumpling and shrimp pocket.Perhaps it was an off night.

This had to be one of the worst dining experiences of my life. My boyfriend and I arrived for dinner on a Saturday night at around 9:30pm. They told us the kitchen closed at 10:00pm. We said we would order before then and that we had a friend meeting us by we would order for him. They said ok and seated us. By 9:45ish 9:50 we place an order for a ton of food. It all came out out within a reasonable amount of time but by 10:15 they stared rushing us told us our friend wouldn't be able to come in. The waitress came over 2 or 3 more times rushing us reminding us of the time. Finally waitress brought over to go containers for all our food and and our drinks (wine and a leech martini), while we were still eating! If you want people out the door by 10:15/10:30 than stop taking orders at 9pm! I had spilled my martini she replaced it and charged me for both. It was a disgusting experience. I have never in my life been rushed out the door of a restaurant like this in my life. I would NEVER go back. We were out the door before 10:30 we didn't finished eating or drinking anything the food was still piping hot!Do not come to this rude little restaurant!

I ordered the pad Thai shrimp and the food was tasty and came quickly. Ambience was pretty cozy too. The problem is that at first the waitresses were nice to us until they decided we needed to hurry up and leave. They pointedly asked if we intended to buy dessert or not, and as soon as we declined, they gave us the check. When we didn't produce our credit cards fast enough, the server actually outright said "can you just pay right now" and shoved the credit card reader thing in my face?? The restaurant was empty except for our table and one other guy so it's not like we were taking up a table during a busy time. For the prices we paid for entrees and the fact we were there for less than 1 hour total, I'll just go elsewhere next time.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is incredible the extra greens were not great.
But generally the food is amazing.
Be the first to ReplyRude waitress and the food is pre cooked.
Definitely wouldn't recommend if you are looking for good Thai place. Had wok chicken and wok chicken with drunken noodles. The food was bland and had to return the satay chicken since the chicken was cold and raw from inside.

If you are looking for really good pad Thai, this place might not be for you.The Thai here is quite sweet and sour but not spicy (this might be my fault as I thought that I chose spicy but must not have due to the sweetness) on the plus side they did not skimp on the shrimp!

The food was just ok because I've had much better tasting Thai food elsewhere, but I came here with family and we found a small and hard piece of clear plastic in the fried rice. A waitress noticed our disgust immediately and helped us get rid of the plastic so I didn't have time to take a photo of it. They offered to provide a second serving of fried rice, which I think was appropriate to offer. The interior space is also generally narrow and more intimate, so not for big groups. Eat here with caution!
Be the first to ReplyI love this restaurant and their sister restaurant Pure.
While I say this they subscribe to my biggest pet peeve. Posting restaurant hours that are useless. If the kitchen closes at 9.... say the kitchen closes at 9 on the hours!!! One more thing.... The only ? there... spring rolls should come with 10 napkins to wring the fat out of them.... They are delicious but swiiiiimming in oil on the plate.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious.
Had not eaten there for a while. It is very tight on space, however we were vaccinated and boosted and decided to enjoy a favorite cuisine. We agreed that the pad see ew w beef was the best dish. The root vegetable spring rolls excellent. Massaman curry very good. The shrimp w cashews so-so. Lovely staff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food that is always consistent.
Quality is great. Tastes great and lots to pick from, never a issue with this UWS food giant. Always go back for more!
Be the first to ReplyIt's not good.
Too saucy, salty and not authentic. Not cheap either. $33 for pad thai and pad see ew that we did not enjoy and ended up tossing. Wanted to give it a try but did not pan out.
Be the first to ReplyLand is a nice neighborhood restaurant on the Upper West
Land is a nice neighborhood restaurant on the Upper West Side. Located on 82nd & Amsterdam. It's small and cozy. Tables are separated by clear plexiglass dividers and there is outdoor seating too.Service is friendly and the food is very good. Prices are reasonable too. It's a great place to stop in for a quick bite. Everything is fresh and made to order.Shrimp Lemongrass soup was very good. I asked for it medium spicy and it had some heat. Wok Charred Squid was cooked nicely. The squid was tender and it was cooked in a chili garlic thai basil sauce. Packed with lots of flavor. Medium Spicy was perfect and I like my food spicy, so be careful when ordering.I hear they have a good lunch special too. 2 courses for $12.50. Overall this is definitely is a great spot for casual Thai food. I highly recommend it if you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine in a casual relaxed setting
Be the first to ReplyI came here for lunch and saw some people dining outside
I came here for lunch and saw some people dining outside since the weather was nice, but I felt like sitting inside since it was a bit chilly. I was seated right away, and I liked how they had plastic dividers between each table inside. They have a lunch pre fixe menu that gives you two courses for only $12.50. Such a great deal for the amount of food and service.Food: For my first course, I got the crispy calamari. This wasn't anything special, but regardless, it was tasty and satisfying. The calamari arrived slightly cold, which would've been nice to have it served warm. The outside was nice and crispy and they paired it with a sweet chili peanut sauce. For my second course, I got the green curry. I saw in other reviews that even though the green curry was considered really spicy, it wasn't that spicy at all. I would agree with all of those reviews, but it was nice since I wasn't in the mood for anything too hot. There was a generous amount of chicken in the curry, and I liked the additions of the bamboo and eggplant. The curry sauce was delicious and I finished the entire thing. By the end of my meal, I was really full, so I felt like everything came in a good portion, despite some other reviews saying the portions were small.Service: There was only one other table that was dining inside, so the service was really quick. My water cup was being refilled consistently, they took my order in a timely manner, my food came out quickly, and they gave me the bill right around the time I finished my meal.

Tuesday night dinnerPros:It's a humble establishment with great food options. We tried 2 dishes in the wok section and loved both. one with shrimp and the other one with beef. Cons:The dishes are a bit small. If you are hungry, you might need to order some appetizer too. Just the main dishes probably won't be enough.
Be the first to ReplyI decided to treat myself to a birthday lunch today.
I was very excited as I never buy lunch out and was felling so fancy! I'd specifically ordered the meal without any garlic (significant food intolerance). I opened the food once I was at work and took a bite and UH OH, realize it is literally covered in garlic . Like every inch of the entree has tiny bits of garlic all over it; no way to remove it and try to avoid digestive catastrophe. I called to ask/complain and they said "the sauce has it in it already" and I asked could they make me a new one without garlic and they said no. So I can't eat any of my birthday meal that I have just paid for. How do you not follow the order request, refuse to make new food, and then not offer a refund? Hard pass on wasting money here again.

I've passed by this spot a number of times now, and was really excited to try it out. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. The flavor was good (not too spicy) and it has a lot more vegetables and shrimp than noodles compared to most places. I was disappointed though when I opened the container that the dish only appeared half full.
