Did not live up to expectations
They try too hard to live up to their declared bistronomique credentials, but fail on most counts. Over-salted veal with enoki mushrooms, a spoonful of noodles and - wait for it! - a sweet vanilla sauce; I ask you!? None of the other items on their 95 euros ยซ gastronomique ยป menu, which they were pushing too hard to sell, were in any way memorable. Great choice of wine is the only aspect I could give full marks to. All in all, not even close to the high level of cooking and service of numerous charming paris bistros one can choose from.

Very high quality restaurant. We had the tasting menu with carefully selected wines for each dish. Amazing and delicious flavors and combinations, impeccable service, I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyA bizarre experience
After a friendly greeting upon arrival, we were suggested to start with champagne. After asking to see the wine list, the waiter suggested that we do a mini tasting with 2 champagnes, after which we would drink our favorite. The โsommelierโ let us choose between two champagnes that were almost identical in taste. We chose one. Then we asked again for the wine list. The sommelier asked us what type of wine we had in mind and asked us what price range, starting at โฌ200. When we indicated that we thought this was a lot of money, she dropped to โฌ150, apparently irritated. We had a bad feeling about it, not knowing what we would get and for what price. Again we asked for the wine list. We should not have done this, she was now really angry and literally threw the wine list on the table. All evening we received sarcastic comments such as โyou are the experts, aren't you?โ and โyou chose this wine yourselfโ, accompanied by rolling eyes, downright insulting and unpleasant. It certainly made our evening very memorable, in the worst sense of the word. The food is served like in a star restaurant, but lacks the finesse and taste to even come close. We had reported that one of us does not eat meat, and the alternative was a thinly sliced piece of cauliflower. Then as a chef you miss all the creativity and fun in your work. This was also visible in the burnt dish that he had served. The chef's angry look when I took a picture of it was also very intimidating. Then the bill; How much would the two glasses of champagne from their mini-tasting have cost? No less than 58 euros for 2 small glasses! The bill totaled 310 euros. Do you want to be ridiculed all evening because you want to maintain control over your own bank account? Go to le Christine. Do you want to have no idea what the wine that the โsommelierโ chooses costs without an explanation as to why it suits the menu? Go to Le Christine. Do you want an expensive dinner without the feeling of satisfaction afterwards? Go to Le Christine. In short; avoid this place.

Incredible dinner! The food was delicious, the staff very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. We added the wine pairing and loved every glass. The sommelier was really knowledgeable and competent. I am celiac and need to eat gluten free, they accommodated that wish very gracefully and I did not get sick. I can only recommend Le Christine to anyone who wants to have an incredible dinner experience in a cute side street in Paris. I would definitely come back!

Here is a very nice discovery; very cozy setting, a very warm welcome as the start of a succulent meal combining originality, a successful search for the marriage of the most refined flavors. Christine demonstrates that we can be great professionals while establishing close ties without being intrusive with customers. From appetizers to dessert, it's a fireworks display of surprises and gastronomic delights. Well done and thank you to the whole team for this memorable evening where kindness punctuated with humor reigned. When I left, I had the impression of leaving an exceptional evening with friends.

Particularly pleasant moment, everything was perfect: the inventive and excellent cuisine, the attentive staff, and the very cozy setting ;-) My two daughters, vegetarians, were able to benefit from a tasting menu in accordance with their choice. To recommend

A fabulous evening in a very cozy Paris restaurant. The food was sublime. We had the 6 course testing menuโฆ. A excellent value. Service was relaxed and attentive.

An absolute delight! (A return visit after 20 years) Decor: a really pleasing balance of luxury and simplicity. Comfortable chairs and spacious lay-out (important!) Service: super-warm; natural and enjoyable. The maitre d' and sommelier (Adrian) gave the impression they were having as much fun as we were. Wine: what a journey! Adrian really understands that when you're dining somewhere special, the wine is half the fun (if not more) and that talking over the wines and learning stuff (and trying things!) is what it's all about. (Maybe not for everyone, but certainly for us, so this was well-judged) We tried three different champagnes, before settling on two absolute stunners. (having been kindly advised of the price, which is also appreciated) Similarly, with the whites and reds by the glass: try a couple, have a chat, learn something, then get stuck in. And it's a conversation, not a lecture. Adrian seemed just as interested in our reactions, than in his own knowledge. (And don't miss the Brobdingnagian dessert wine experience....) Food: attractive, decent portions (for high end), ranged from table-smackingly delicious to 'very nice'. Recommend the scampi terrine thing. Huge flavour! Wasn't sure about the pop-rock playing at picnic volume, but we were having such a good time, we just went with it. The whole experience was a bit of a party (and we were also left alone to enjoy a romantic dinner). Bravo!
Be the first to ReplyFine but not exciting
Cute little Latin Quarter gastronomic restaurant. Took the five-course โmenu degustationโ prepared to be wowed and was not. It was good and reasonably creative but not exciting. The two starter courses, intended, I believe, to be โamuses bouches,โ one based around celeriac, the other around butternut squash, lacked the pop one would hope for as kick-offs to a multi-course gastronomic meal. The scallop and duck dishes were both quite good but not memorable, mostly for lack of bold seasoning. Overall, a nice meal but less satisfying than solid, hearty, less expensive bistro fare.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but insisted on tasting menu and refused to accept wine was off
I went with a group of 8 of us last weekend. It is a sweet little restaurant with chic decor. There were 8 of us and they insisted that we have the tasting menu (because there were 8 of us), which did not suit one of my friends as she did not like most of the food. I on the other hand did - I thought the food was tasty, inventive and I am happy with very small portions (a couple of my other friends, not so much). The most annoying thing was that we had a bottle of l'Ouest 2021 chablis which was totally oxidised but they refused to accept it was and said it was the style of that maker. It was dark yellow (and got darker with time) and tasted sherry-like. (To be fair, a friend tasted it, but it was not right and waiter and maitre d' both tried and said it was ok). We had some other wine which was nice - and neither corked nor oxidised. Just a little rant - if food was tainted by packaging, would that ever be acceptable? Do restaurants ever offer you to taste the food before you accept it? So, not a great success overall. I would go back, just with my wife, but definitely not in a group.

What an amazing find on the Left Bank. My friends and I got the tasting menu with wine pairings. From the service to the food, nothing disappointed. In fact, it was outstanding. Our waiter was Yissene who was friendly, polite and professional. The food was creative with amazing pairings of ingredients. The decore was gorgeous. I look forward to coming back on my next visit to Paris.

We had an enjoyable and delicious dinner as we were staying next door at Relais Christine. The staff was excellent and accommodating and spoke perfect English.

Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner sitting outside
I had dinner here last week with my son and his girlfriend. The experience was excellent in all respects. We were greeted warmly and the service throughout the meal was excellent. Every food item was superb. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants an excellent meal in a very charming setting.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious!
My partner and I had a fantastic dinner here! The food was divine and the service was great. Everyone was so welcoming and happy to explain everything in English, which for brits in Paris, can sometimes not be the case! I recommend the roasted artichoke or butternut tart starters, followed by the filet of duckling or the scallops. They are delicious! A trip here will not disappoint!
Be the first to ReplyHORRIBLE!
In 1 word: HORRIBLE! The waitress was terrible. The food also. We were celebrating my mothers birthday but were standing outside in 50 minutes after a terrible experience. Just donโt go is my advice!!
Be the first to ReplyMagnifique
Excellent food, wine and service. Best in Paris from 3 recent trips. Go for the tasting menu. Sommelier very good with quality choices made. Only downside is not to sit too close to the door in February as constantly opening!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely worth a visit
Located in the St Germain- de pres neighborhood on a very quaint street. Friendly staff, excellent food with amazing presentation. I had the scallops and my wife the duck. Both were exceptional. In a city full of excellent food, this restaurant stands out and worth a visit.
