I've heard lots of good things and have been looking forward to it. It is also notable this would be my first time having French cuisine (and yes, it was certainly a grand introduction to what French cuisine has to offer).I came here with a party of 4 earlier in February. Most of my party were well versed in the French culinary dishes. What french cuisine excels most is the utilization of everything into their dish; the execution, presentation, and flavor is what defines it as one the of leading culinary inspirations in fine dining. Le Coucou definitely has met the criteria and worthy of their Michelin Star status. The service we received was outstanding and was expected of a Michelin star restaurant. There is an option to order prix fixe menu versus ala carte, and we chose the latter. Our party was adventurous and decided to go for more traditional French dishes that I normally wouldn't have ordered:- Quenelle de brochet (pike mousse)- Foie gras poché au Sauternes (Foie gras)- Ris de veau à l'estragon (Sweetbreads)- Tout le lapin (All of the rabbit)- Calamar en escabèche (grilled squid)- Canette a l'orange (roasted ducklings)Dessert: Pear SorbetI am not one to order foie gras, liver, hearts, and other organs from animal bits, let alone trying new meats such as rabbit, but I was open in trying it during this dinner for the experience. While I did not personally enjoy eating the parts itself, I did however appreciate the intricateness and refined techniques that went into every dish. Every dish had its own story and that made the experience much more unique. The tout le lapin is a classic dish utilizing every part of the rabbit in 3 different courses. I thought that was the highlight of the meal. The drinks here are very good and are not to be missed! I forgot what my first drink was but it was a hit! I ended up getting an espresso martini as my second drink and it was great. Overall; the service is outstanding and the staff are very knowledgeable about all the dishes. The quality and attention to details on the food itself is top notch. I myself, probably would not go out of my way to get the same dishes again (since it's a bit out of my comfort zone), but I would be interested in trying the other dishes they have here! Nevertheless, I respect the work and sweat put out by the wonderful staff and chefs at Le Coucou, and appreciate the experience!.
