Great experience
My first two-star gourmet restaurant, a superb experience. A great welcome that was both professional and warm. The dishes are magnificent and of perfect quality, there are no other words. Having taken the tasting menu the quantity was perfect.

Unfortunately, we will not have the pleasure of discovering this restaurant because of a deplorable reservation policy: The request was for 8 seats for April, the restaurant's response: From 7 seats, it is not possible to choose on site. We send the proposals and ask our customers to anticipate their menu choices and let us know, or the possibility of trusting the chef. In order to validate this reservation, we ask you to pay a deposit of 880 euros with an attached RIB for immediate debit. How to choose a menu in February for an April dinner!!!!!! At a level of this type of establishment and prices (which we fully assume), we forget the customer!! We understand, given the indelicacy of certain customers, the taking of a bank imprint. This would have been enough. So we may think that you don't need customers. Other restaurants of your level in Lyon are less complicated and willing to accommodate us… too bad
Be the first to ReplyBusiness lunch. What a revelation! Instead of talking about “business” we focused on the dishes! Well done !
Absolutely fabulous from A to Z! The welcome was simply perfect as well as the room service. All the dishes were worthy of a 3 star *** because they were very sophisticated and refined. Explanations of dishes and wines of the highest level! A must-see restaurant for fans of “haute gastronomy” cuisine. Would not be surprised to see it very soon among the 3*** in the Michelin guide or the 18.5/20 in Gault & Millau.

This Saturday meal will remain a great memory: the setting, the welcome, the service and above all the dishes of extraordinary creativity, appearance and taste, from the appetizers to the delicacies, everything was perfect. THANKS
Be the first to ReplyMore for the eyes than the taste
Austere atmosphere, with quality service and an extensive wine list - I recommend telling the maître d' which type you like so he can help you choose. There are a few options per glass, which makes it easier. Another thing that makes it easier is the possibility of booking through The Fork. The food is excellently presented, but the flavor left something to be desired - I expected much more as it was a Michelin restaurant in Lyon. The first mis en bouche was perfect, but everything that followed was no longer at the same level. The textures and shapes were intriguing, but the taste was unfortunately always just OK. Overall, it's creative cuisine for the eyes, artistic, but lacking on the palate. We opted for a la carte dishes, but they have set menus too.
Be the first to ReplyShame...
I had already been there about 5 years ago, before the second star, superb and inventive lunch, in a professional but relaxed atmosphere, a real good moment of sharing. Here we are today, with one more star, prices multiplied by 2.5, a feeling of accounting management of quantities, the very ordinary glasses of wine, the translucent slices of cheese because they are so thin, all coated in this benevolent obsequiousness typical of Michelin stars...however, I would not be fair if I did not highlight the very high quality of the products, the superb presentations, the warm service. this comment has no other purpose than to ask for a little more generosity, it doesn't cost much and can bring a lot...let's not forget that we are in Lyon.

Inventive and incredibly precise haute cuisine, sophisticated presentations, we are in a two Michelin star. Attentive service but not heavy-handed or obsequious. The arctic char cooked in beeswax is magnificent, as are the caramelized artichokes. Generally speaking, all the vegetables are perfect, which is rare enough to be worth mentioning. The desserts are not left out, the precision technique of the chef and his pastry chefs is illustrated there too. Remarkable cheese platter. Well done, well done! The only downside (minimal) concerns the room, which is a little impersonal, but without a lack of taste. Mr. Roure takes the time to greet customers, which is always very pleasant. Congratulations to the entire team in the kitchen and in the dining room, a unique experience! Given the price (largely justified), we won't come back every day, or even every week or every month, but I don't regret a single euro I spent!
Be the first to ReplyAn explosion of flavors
My companion surprised me with a reservation at this restaurant, what a treat! Everything is divinely good personally I am more of a fan of savory dishes so I was perhaps less won over by the dessert but no false note in the entire menu the service is pleasant and the chef comes to greet us at the end of the meal . My dietary restrictions were taken into account. It was a magnificent moment, an explosion in the mouth we would recommend without hesitation even if of course it represents a budget.
Be the first to ReplyYou have to love the sober style
Sober, effective. I like restaurants but never one that's starred. The cooking was perfect and the pigeon was excellent. The rest is a very, very good meal, it will be appreciated by connoisseurs, I am not one of them. We don't see the time passing when we're having a good time. We're no longer hungry when we go out. It is a tasting restaurant and not an experience restaurant.

We came on a Saturday lunchtime and enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. The service was very good too. This restaurant deserves its 2 stars.
Be the first to ReplyAn Unforgettable Lunch
When we planned our trip to Lyon we knew we wanted to try on of the Michelin started restaurants, but struggled to choose which one to go to. We are so happy we chose Le Neuvième Art. We originally planned on a dinner but ended up happy to change to a lunch reservation, and the restaurant was very easy to work with. Before we arrived I made sure to let them know about some food allergies, and the restaurant was very accommodating. All members of the staff were extremely professional and friendly. The food was amazing, and provided us the opportunity to try so many new and inventive dishes. At the end of the lunch the chef, Christophe came out and made sure to talk with each table for a few minutes. He was incredibly down to earth and easy to chat with. His wife was also very friendly and strived to make sure our visit was the best possible experience. Our lunch at the Neuvieme Art was one of the highlights of our trip to Lyon.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, awful customer service and attitude of the chef
This was the worst experience I had in a star-Michelin restaurant in the past 30 years. The food was inventive, tasty and very well presented with a succession of amuse-bouche ( the sardine souffléd was to die for). However, we had an awful customer experience that went on all evening: We were sitted next to the revolving door to the kitchen, so it was very noisy with countless passages; You cannot choose your menu at this restaurant as we were told that we all had to take exactly the same dishes at the table (one of us had a particular diet which did not allow him to do so). Even my 80 year-old mum got some insults when she asked to take with her some mignardises she could not finish in order not to waste the food. The chef was arrogant, cocky, unrespectful and his wife eventually made nasty comments about serving foreigners. Avoid at all cost this restaurant, there are many more excellent options in Lyon.
