Don’t miss this
I was looking for a great restaurant in Williamsburg to help celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our experience was wonderful….our best restaurant experience since moving to the area. The food was prepared well, interesting and wonderful to eat. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food, Mediocre Service
We were seated outside. It was a chilly evening so they were gracious enough to place two kerosene heaters on either end of our table of 8. Our waiter was extremely inattentive, abandoning us for 20 minutes at a time. It took him a long time to take beverage orders and then another 15 minutes to return to take our food order. Most of the food was exceptional with the exception of an overcooked filet mignon and a dry soufflé. Given the disappointing service, I would not recommend this restaurant.

We were in Williamsburg for our anniversary, and we have in the past, celebrated here. The service, atmosphere, and of course the food, never disappoint. We enjoyed the three course dinner along with a Scotch from their very nice cocktail selection. We look forward to dining with them again in the near future. You can't miss by going here!

An excellent example of the French fine dining experience. No detail is missed and the atmosphere is perfect. Food is as good as it gets and the wine is solid. Can’t wait to get back.
Be the first to ReplyOh la la!! Perfect for lunch!
The lunch menu is absolutely wonderful. We got the 3 course lunch and wound up taking some home. The crab crepe is divine! The staff are wonderful and Axl is a great server! We did call ahead to make sure we could get in for lunch and it wasn’t a problem on a Friday lunch hour. Do try the sorbet! The lemon is so tart and delicious!

Great restaurant. Love it here and o ly went to williamsburg this time to eat here. Love their pre fixe lunch. The onion soup and desserts are amazing. The meal is delicious. And it’s a great deal. Arrive is wonderful.
Be the first to ReplySlightly Disappointed
My husband and I had dinner here last night. While the food was excellent. The service was lacking. Our server didn't ask us if we'd like another drink, he was slow to take our order and surprisingly, we were missing napkins and bread plates at our table. Also, we were seated in a noisy room, and it was hard for us to carry on a conversation. We are locals and dine here every couple of months and never have any complaints, but last night really surprised me.
Be the first to ReplyA Culinary Symphony with a Side of Limitations
Le Yaca provided a delightful dining experience overall. The prompt seating and festive atmosphere, adorned with Christmas trees and a welcoming fire, set a pleasant tone. The salads were crisp and fresh, showcasing quality ingredients. The crab cake's minimal breading allowed the delicious crab flavor to shine, and the perfectly cooked steak was a highlight. However, the lobster, while good, lacked seasoning and accompanying drawn butter. The dessert choices, apple tart and Tiramisu, capped off the meal well. The attentive and friendly wait staff added to the positive experience. One drawback was the limited side choices, an aspect that could enhance the overall dining options.

Le Yaca is a very nice restaurant with fantastic food and beverage. I had Escargots and Foie de Veau (Sautéed calf’s liver). Both dishes were excellent, as was the atmosphere and service.
Be the first to ReplyA restaurant to remember…..
My husband and I have flown across the country multiple times just to see Virginia. It is a beautiful state and we especially like Williamsburg. We happened to see this restaurant and decided to eat at the bar. The restaurant was completely booked with reservations. We soon understood why that was …… the place is exquisite (colonial style) with top notch staff. The food was decadent! We had the brunch weekend selection. 4 courses which included champagne, soup or salad, entree and dessert. Since then we have always come back to eat here — as Tina Turner sang: “..simply the best!”
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Thanksgiving Meal!
Perfect Thanksgiving dinner! We decided to play hooky this year from cooking and cleaning. We spent the weekend at a nice B&B, and the highlight was our meal at La Yaca. The service was excellent, the wine perfect, and the food was outstanding!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, excellent value!
When in Williamsburg, skip the chain restaurants for a truly gourmet meal at a very fair price. Prix fixe offers excellent choices and beautifully cooked and presented food. Coquille St Jacques and fresh fish are excellent choices. A white table restaurant in a lovely room, unexpected in Williamsburg and worth every penny.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive but excellent
The dinner at Le Yaca with a friend was one of the high points of my last months living in the US. It was my most expensive restaurant bill ever, but I didn't begrudge it. The duck was excellent and my friend loved his French Onion soup starter. Recommended for special occasions.
Be the first to ReplyBest Restaurant in Williamsburg
We have eaten at Le Yaca over the previous 19 years and it is the best place in Williamsburg. Whether for lunch or dinner c'est tres bien! The warm baguette with butter is superb. The ambience is pleasant and service prompt. We have eaten and enjoyed many items on the menu, including salmon, pork, filet, souffle, creme brulee and tarte. It is fine dining the way it is meant to be.
Be the first to ReplyThe Second Time an Even Better Experience
We first experienced Le Yaca back in 2014 and though we had an outstanding meal, we just never made it back. It seemed a little too formal for our tastes back then. So we came to celebrate our first date anniversary and I have to say it was exceptional. The vibe seemed different, from the greeting by our hostess, more friendly, warm and less pretentious. Our server Matt was fabulous, warm and friendly, he was helpful with regards to the menu and answered all our questions, and kept checking w/ us but was not intrusive. We started w/ cocktails, I had the Kir Royal, my husband had the champagne cocktail. My Kir Royal was perfect, the French sparkling wine used was very good - I should have asked what was used. My husband enjoyed the champagne cocktail - he loves drinking an old fashioned and some of the same ingredients were used in the cocktail. I wanted the escargot so my husband got the house salad and since our entrees came w/ a choice of house salad, French onion soup or soup of the day, we both got the potato & leek soup as well. He said his salad was good, the escargot was delicious, very, very hot - even though it comes w/ a bit of toast on each escargot, I used the delicious French bread to soak up some of the olive oil & parsley - great flavor. I'm not a fan of the French onion soup - the onions are pureed, I prefer a more rustic version so we tried the potato and leek soup - wow, absolutely delicious. My husband had the crab cakes which were mostly lump crab, little filler, beautifully plated w/ grapefruit, one on spinach, the other on sliced potatoes. My duck breast w/ a poached pear & foie gras was outstanding, cooked perfectly, delicious port wine sauce over sliced potatoes & spinach. I had the Gran Marnier souffle, my husband the apple tart. Both delicious and beautiful presentation . Yes, we did order a lot of courses, so we were both stuffed but the portions are not big, typical of French cuisine. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and presentation. And if you are a dessert person, this is the place to go. We will definitely be back more frequently.

Last minute plans with friends! I had a feeling a walk-in party of four was impossible and the bar was the perfect setting. They were busy and it was nice to see all the action of this beautiful restaurant. We had delicious drinks, friendly bartender, polite hostess, and beautiful presentations of food. I feel like you could film a restaurant scene for a movie in this restaurant. I am looking forward to a date night. Lunch prices are reasonable , dinner is what you would expect for fine dining. A special place for a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyThe fix menu “est magnifique «
The fix menu is quite good. I had the “catch of the day” which was halibut, which very we’ll prepares. It came accompanied with two big oysters… yummy. As starters both of us had the soupe a l’onion and my friend had the scallops. All delicious. We decided to skip dessert.
Be the first to ReplyLamb
For the first time in my seventy-five years, I ate lamb based on the recommendations of a friend who had a similar aversion until trying it at Le Yaca. And I actually enjoyed it. I had hedged my bet by ordering the calve liver which I knew to be outstanding and I was not disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyGreat brunch!
We stopped by this past weekend for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The prix fixe brunch menu offered fantastic options and the Seafood Benedict was delicious!
Be the first to ReplyGreat French cuisine
Great French restaurant. Started with the onion soup which is amazing. Not traditional but puréed with cheese on top, amazing. My wife started with the mixed green salad, fresh and well dressed. She had the veal scallopini in mushroom sauce was great, too much to finish. I had the calves liver which isn’t for everyone but if you like it you’ll love this one. Bread was fresh and hot. Dessert was apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Service was professional and efficient. Only negative was “short pours” on drinks.

Service is impeccable! Food is delightful! We also love the coziness of the restaurant. Expensive but you get what you pay for!
Be the first to ReplyWe only went for the Thursday Night Lamb Special
The Lamb Special was Lamb, 3 ways. Confit with Lentils, Double Chop over Asparagus, and Loin over something I can't remember? It came with a choice of Soup or Salad. I had the Soup, which was an Onion Soup that went through the Blender, so there were NO Onions to be seen. It also came with a Chocolate Soufflé with Vanilla Ice Cream. All for $39.95, which was the cheapest price on the Menu. OK, the Soup was tasty. The Soufflé was warm. The Lamb: Well, I think I got my Wife's cooked her way and she got mine. Wish I had asked when they brought it to the Table. Our Server, Axle, was attentive and charming. I just wish the staff would each wear a different color Tie so you can remember which is your person. Oh, and my Bellini was superb. I ate 3 little pieces of Asparagus, hated the Lentils, and the other thing, I didn't touch. My wife liked the Chop the Best, hated the Loin. I couldn't tell the difference on my plate and then realized her Loin wasn't as cooked as mine, which meant she got mine/vice versa. Both of us had no reaction to the Confit. Nice place, but looking over the other items on the Menu, they wouldn't have gotten my business without the Special.
