Love sitting at the bar.
Always a delicious brunch spot. Our bartender Derek is super friendly and pours a delicious drink.
Be the first to Replythis has to be my favorite meal from beginning to end since
this has to be my favorite meal from beginning to end since I've lived in tampa - and I've had quite a few. To say this top Berns (I'll probably get arrested for that one) is full truth. To start, we had the old fashioned and passion fruit spicy margarita which has to be my favorite cocktail I've ever had. For appetizers we had a sweet potato dish which was the perfect bite of sweet and spicy that had notes on the tongue which were rounded. We got the duck breast in the mushroom jus and smoked short ribs and both we're probably the shining stars. Each dish has its own unique flavor profile unlike anything I've ever eaten. words cannot describe, but it was elevated to the max, comforting and made you feel like you just ate something worth a million bucks. We ended with a dessert espresso martini and crème brûlée which both had classy flavor pairing. As for the service, we had an amazing server and the manager of the evening, Tasha checked up on us and made sure every step of our meal was nothing short of incredible. The restaurant was busy, but quiet which made it nice to have a meal at a popular spot without feeling like I had to yell across the room even though I'm sitting next to someone. The decor is beautiful and I also recommend ending your night upstairs at edge, the rooftop bar! If you're visiting tampa, this place is a NO BRAINER, and a must for a high quality meal.
Be the first to ReplyBern's should be ashamed of themselves.
How they can put their name on this aggressively mediocre and overpriced garbage is mind boggling. This place felt like the dumping ground for all the food and service that Bern's is too embarrassed to serve. We ordered a Delmonico Steak for 2 that the server claimed was "dry aged at Bern's". Bullshit. It was $130, and came out room temperature. To make matters worse, it arrived with no plates, and no silverware, so it was allowed to continue to cool (as did the rest of the meal) while our uninterested waitstaff found plates and utensils. The restaurant was not full, and not nearly busy enough for the lackluster everything. If you make no other decisions in your life, do yourself a favor and decide to avoid this Bern's garbage dump. I'm not exaggerating when I say everything was wrong. Not by accident, though, because obviously noone cares. Not Berns, not the staff, and not the management. And Vincente, to save you some time from copying and pasting your mock apology, I'll do it for you."My apology for your less than excellent experience.Your feedback and comments are greatly appreciated as we are working on improvements on every level.I have shared this with our team to address, did a manager touch your table and offer you a different choice and apologize? If you could please let me know I would appreciated it.We are planning updated menus and refined knowledgeable sere vice."If I've been unclear at any point, this was not a "Less than excellent experience." This was, for the money, the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Do better Berns.

Nice location on the first floor of the hotel, very sizable and pleasant inside. Definitely good for a big group and for a romantic dinner. We had some moctails which were ok, not very special. Definitely we have had better in the past. Appetizer we had mushroom bisque soup and Brussels sprouts. Both were pretty good. We really wanted to have some baked oysters but they said they cannot make it without pork. We were disappointed because we don't eat pork. Many people culturally/religiously or for health reasons don't consume pork so not being able to remove it from seafood fish was a disappointment. I had squash for my entry and husband had fish. Both dishes were delicious. I thought squash was too expensive even for this type of restaurant. $30 for half head of squash was kind of excessive. It was cooked to perfection, no issue with that. Service was pretty good and attentive. I definitely enjoyed this place and would come back again. Parking is valet and we had to pay, which is ok. What we were not happy is the number of completely wasted people picking up their cars. I was scared to drive back. I know it's not a restaurant fault, but if you are not a fun of super wasted people driving their expensive cars, I would park somewhere else. I believe there is a bar in the hotel and bunch of people go there. People in the restaurant were all respectful and not obnoxious.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and overpriced.
Service was very good. Food was average. Someone in our group ordered Steak tar tar as an appetizer, it was bland, and sent back. They did take it off the bill. There are better dining experiences in South Tampa.

I've visited this place a handful of times in the past year or so, and have always been impressed by the variety and quality of their menu items. The seafood dishes (especially the scallops) are always excellent, and they offer unique and delicious coursed tastings for many holidays. Definitely worth a visit, and definitely don't skip dessert here!

This restaurant was okay, but it did not live up to the hype in the Yelp reviews. I would not return.
Be the first to ReplyI went here for dinner on a Friday night.
It was easy to get into and the service was great. I had the oysters and a wedge salad. It is a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it. (Also total win you can go up to the rooftop for after dinner drinks)
Be the first to ReplyWe really enjoyed the Thanksgiving menu.
All of our dishes were tasty, and the wait staff was amazing. My only complaint really was the price, especially when we weren't given the option to opt out of desert. Other than that, no complaints!!
Be the first to ReplyI had the Aged Rohan Duck.
It was terrible, food came barely warm, meat was stiff. The sides were some veggies that were in a weird raw non-edible state.Food is 0 stars. Also this plate costed $40, unbelievable.Totally disappointing. Ambient is nice and drinks were good.
